The pattern of gravity anomalies is controlled by an old north-south fault system delineating the Antarctic Horst, a younger volcanically active shear zone south of the area, and varying thicknesses of dense volcanic material in the area. Cross sections of three underfit glaciers have been calculated from measurements of gravity on their surface.
