Book Synopsis The Secret Physics of Coincidence by : Gabi Froböse
Download or read book The Secret Physics of Coincidence written by Gabi Froböse and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2012-12 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who isn't familiar with the infamous "Inspector Chance", who always appears unannounced? Does the unexpected only seem like a coincidence because we are unaware of the complex order behind it? The question cannot be answered by a simple "yes" or "no". Instead, the author hopes to show that coincidence has two very different faces. One of them reveals the trivial side. The other, in contrast, is "coincidence of a higher order", which is no longer truly a coincidence. Rather, it is based on connections that science is just beginning to discover. To allow the reader to better understand the sections related to supernatural phenomena, the author has created two physicists to accompany the reader, they are Al and Zach. Whereas Al vehemently defends the "traditional side", Zach is among the avantgarde in his field, who does not view the phenomena represented here as taboo and who attempts to reconcile such phenomena using the discoveries of modern quantum physics. Let yourself be carried away - not only while reading these incredible stories of coincidence, but by the exciting discussion as well, which is free of prejudice and does not attempt to place mysticism on a scientific platform. Following his studies in chemistry, Dr. Rolf Froböse worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute, was division manager at technology magazine highTech and chief editor of the journals Chemie Industrie and Europa Chemie. Since 1995, he has worked as a freelance science and economic journalist, reporting on research and technology issues. He has also penned numerous popular non-fiction books, including The Secret Physics of Coincidence and Lust und Liebe - alles nur Chemie? (Lust and Love - Is it more than Chemistry), (Wiley-VCH, 2004). The latter was written in collaboration with his wife Gabriele and has been translated into English, Spanish, Danish and Korean.
Download or read book Mediality on Trial written by Ehler Voss and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2020-09-21 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume addresses controversies connected to the testing of the capacities and potentials of mediums. Today we commonly associate the term "medium" with the technical communication between transmitters and receivers. Yet this term likewise applies to those who cooperate with agencies that exceed the presumed domain of the material world. Insofar as one presumes a division between distinctly opposed categories of religion and the secular, technical media tend to be associated with the secular and human (trance) mediums tend to be associated with religion after 1900. This volume concerns the ways in which the term medium still marks an overlapping of – and thus problematizes – the aforementioned division between religion and the secular, the personal and the technological. The term medium carries with it a seed of doubt that is itself inseparable from investment in the medium's power: insofar as they communicate with an "other" realm, mediums offer the hope and promise of new possibilities and improved efficiency, and thus of a better life; yet they have simultaneously been under suspicion of altering (or even inventing) the messages they communicate. It is due to this combination of promise and suspicion that "mediumism" has tended to evoke scientific, religious, and moral controversies. Thus, we can speak of a "mediumistic trial" – that is, a process in which a medium is put to the test concerning its potentials and trustworthiness. Around 1800, experts were asked if a modern secular institution would be capable of inspiring, domesticating or excluding trance mediumship. This question has stayed with us ever since, and the answers have remained inconclusive. That is why the past and present of mediumship may be asked to elucidate each other.

Mickey Robinson opens the way for every believer to enter into new and fulfilling prophetic possibilities, providing biblical and historical background for the operation of prophetic gifts and also explaining safeguards and practical methods for prophetic ministry. Making a strong case for the benefits of the local church as a prophetic base, he illustrates the importance of personal maturity, mutual encouragement and accountability, prophetic worship, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Book excerpt: Die Geheimnisse der oberen und der unteren Welt (The Secrets of the Upper and the Lower World) is a substantial new collection of essays on magic in Islamic cultural history. Both comprehensive and innovative in its approach, this book offers fresh insights into an important yet still understudied area of Islamic intellectual history. The seventeen chapters deal with key aspects of Islamic magic, including its historical developments, geographical variants, and modern-day practices. The general introduction identifies and problematizes numerous sub-topics and key practitioners/theoreticians in the Arabo-Islamic context. Download or read book No Silver Bullets written by Daniel Im and published by B&H Publishing Group. This book was released on 2017-09-01 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if I told you that you were only one step away from unlocking new levels of maturity and growth in your church? The myth of the silver bullet still exists because we desperately want it to. We all prefer quick fixes and bandage solutions to the long, hard, slow work that produces real change. So the moment we learn about a new ministry or strategy and see its effect in another church, we run to implement it in our own. Unfortunately, this impulse is usually met by opposition, skepticism, and ultimately, rejection. What if the solution isn't a new model or a complicated strategy, but a shift in perspective? What if you could keep your church's current vision, values, and model, and simply make a few micro-shifts...leading to macro-changes? This book explores five micro-shifts that have the potential to produce macro-changes in your church. As you read, you will discover how to integrate these micro-shifts into the life of your church, starting with the way you disciple. You will finish by developing a plan to structure, communicate, and evaluate these changes to ensure that they take root and pave the way for lasting change and kingdom impact.
Download or read book Einsamkeit written by Marcus Handke and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on with total page 622 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Thirteen Secret Letters written by Adam Friedrich Boehme and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-11-05 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Those interested in the Western hermetic tradition may know that the 18th century Golden and Rosicrucian Order was a high degree Masonic Order with a strong emphasis on laboratory alchemy. This work was considered a preparation for the theurgical work which they taught in their higher degrees, where the final aim of their system was to become a Biblical type of prophet. This compilation of the 13 letters, now in print for the first time in modern type, as well as translated into English, is distinguished among the many other books of its time, some of which also claim origin with said order but fail to deliver. For all who take an interest in Fulcanelli, along with the classics, Cyliani, Philalethes, or Sendivogius, this is a must-read and a perfect companion to the "Hermes Trismegistus Old and True Natural Path," also available from Lulu. Language: English + Deutsch
