Book excerpt: The perfect gift! A specially priced, beautifully designed hardcover edition of The Joy of the Gospel with a foreword by Robert Barron and an afterword by James Martin, SJ. “The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus… In this Exhortation I wish to encourage the Christian faithful to embark upon a new chapter of evangelization marked by this joy, while pointing out new paths for the Church’s journey in years to come.” – Pope Francis This special edition of Pope Francis's popular message of hope explores themes that are important for believers in the 21st century. Examining the many obstacles to faith and what can be done to overcome those hurdles, he emphasizes the importance of service to God and all his creation. Advocating for “the homeless, the addicted, refugees, indigenous peoples, the elderly who are increasingly isolated and abandoned,” the Holy Father shows us how to respond to poverty and current economic challenges that affect us locally and globally. Ultimately, Pope Francis demonstrates how to develop a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ, “to recognize the traces of God’s Spirit in events great and small.” Profound in its insight, yet warm and accessible in its tone, The Joy of the Gospel is a call to action to live a life motivated by divine love and, in turn, to experience heaven on earth. Includes a foreword by Robert Barron, author of Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of the Faith and James Martin, SJ, author of Jesus: A Pilgrimage

I am writing, not out of a desire to write books, but because God shared His heart with me and His concern. This book came from several dreams I had over a one-year period. I believe the Body of Christ is being called to repent, to rebuild God's Church, and become the bride that His Son Jesus will come to receive, "without spot or wrinkle." It is time for churches around the world to arise, shake off the sin and ways of the world, and move in power to raise up God's Church and be like Jesus: "be about our Father's business." I have one book in print, The Way of Escape from the Darkness, printed by Christian Faith Publishing in Meadville, Pennsylvania. The book was released in December 2022. This is a good preparatory writing to read before this new book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the turn of this century, Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins published their famous Left Behind series, with the underlying plot that Jesus would abruptly appear in the sky and “rapture” (catch away) His church just prior to the worldwide “Tribulation.” Throughout this seven-year period of Tribulation, the main characters who are “left behind” find themselves in a survival struggle under the hideous rule of the Antichrist, as they earnestly await another appearance of Jesus at the end of the Tribulation – clinging to the hope that they will get another chance to be saved. This fictitious story is based on the predominant prophetic teachings that have been widely accepted as orthodoxy among many non-Catholic denominations. But just how accurate are these conclusions when measured up to the Word of God? What does the Bible really say about the Rapture and the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? In Except the Lord Build the House, author Norm Eberly constructs a doctrinal house from the ground up, using the literal renderings of various passages from the Bible as a foundation. Throughout its pages, the reader is urged not to apply “mystical interpretations” to Biblical prophecies, but rather to simply read the Word of God at face value in order to arrive at sound, logical conclusions. Later in the book, numerous prophetic interpretations are introduced for the reader to ponder – but only after a firm foundation that is based on the literal wordings of the Holy Scriptures has been established. Written for scholars, students, and novice Bible readers alike, and with over 100 colorful charts and illustrations, this book offers a fresh approach to the study of Biblical prophecies for the endtime and presents a bold challenge to the status-quo of popular Evangelical teachings concerning the Rapture and the Lord’s imminent return.

Living the Christian life has become to some a burden. It has fallen to last on the list of priorities. The power, purpose, and plan of God for His church and the individual believer is not being felt in our nation. Those who mock the existence of God and boastfully point to the hypocrites in the church have much to say that goes unchallenged in today's culture. The recent number of books by Christian authors telling the Christian to act like a Christian and the Church to actually make disciples and not just converts is a telling sign that the crisis is indeed real and many know it. Knowledge of the crisis alone, however, is doing nothing to start a renewal in the hearts of Christians and Churches. There is much talk about a needed revival in our country and some even predicting when one might occur and how. First, it is needed that those who profess faith find their way to being transformed into the person God intends for them to be and to take part in His great plan for the church, this nation, and those who need to receive the gift of grace and know Jesus Christ. This book does not offer the answers. This is a challenge to think and to pray. It is a call to join forces with the Holy Spirit to accomplish what for too long we might have told ourselves is no longer possible. It is still possible. God is still saving souls and making disciples. It will take submission and obedience but the way forward is to go forward with God in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus.

Jesus Christ - the divine Person revealed in the Bible - has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, He will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do His will, and you will see the truth of His Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.

Book excerpt: Bill Vincent paints a very vivid image of a rising tremendous army, empowered and equipped by the power of the Holy Spirit, in this magnificent book, which was birthed out of the undeniable revival fire that is blazing right now in all parts of his ministry, according to Bill Vincent. Also explored in depth in this book is the mystery surrounding these exploding levels of the Holy Spirit's action in our lives. As you walk in trust and submit to God's call in your life, you will experience unprecedented favor. My experience indicates that the gift of God within you will create space for your vision, and your vision will create space for the gift of God within you. Each visionary leader endowed by God with the capacity to hear from God in order to comprehend and properly carry out vision. God endows His leaders with wisdom and judgment, enabling them to determine how, when, and what decisions to make. Because the Lord appointed me sovereignly to the work, He also bestowed upon me the wisdom to know what to do and when to accomplish it. The only way vision may be fully realized is for God's designated leader to completely devote his or her life to Christ's sovereign rulership. Preparation and pruning of my heart were critical components of being prepared for the dependence of what God had in store for me. Pioneering construction in uncharted area should be undertaken with the grace and wisdom that come from complete reliance on God and trust in His capacity to keep His promises in and to us.

This time of shaking is actually an act of God-a refiner's fire through which He will bring radical, glorious reformation to the church through exposure, confrontation, and cleansing. Through this upheaval, God is seeking to mold and mature His people into the supernatural community they were destined to be! In a dramatic encounter with the fear of the Lord, author and pastor, Chad Norris received an assignment from God to bring fatherly training, correction, and rebuke to the church, shaping fellow believers into powerful Kingdom representatives. In God is Shaking His Temple, Chad offers a prophetic invitation to partner with this move of God to manifest His Kingdom on earth. In this book, you will discover... Ancient truths that come with promises of blessing. Discernment to distinguish between God's work and the devil's. Strength to stand firm in the midst of crisis and chaos. Wisdom to walk as a mature child of God, fit to move in signs, wonders and miracles. Freedom from religious bondage and false views of God. This season of upheaval is an invitation from the Father to incline your ear, hear the Lord's voice, and join His Kingdom army that will bring Heaven's light to this dark world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everybody is aware of the difference prevailing among the Lord's people as to the interpretation of those passages of Scripture which foretell the future in reserve for the Church and the world. The ordinary interpretation is, that the promises contained in the Psalms and Old Testament prophecies refer to the Church, which, as the spiritual Israel, has taken the place, in God's purposes, of the literal Israel, to whom these promises were given. So, the fulfilment of the promises is taken to be spiritual rather than literal, being brought about by the gradual spread of Christianity, and the blessings of peace and prosperity following the universal triumph of the gospel. This world-wide dominion of truth and happiness is presumed to be the period of a thousand years, during which Satan is bound, and the saints reign with Christ. It is supposed that at the close of this time, after another brief outbreak of Satan's craft and human wickedness, the world is destroyed; and that there is then a general resurrection of the dead, both bad and good, to be judged before the great white throne This is interpreted as the event called "the coming of the Lord," "the appearing of the Lord," "the day of the Lord;" "the end of the age" (mis-translated "world"), and "the coming of the Son of man" — names supposed all to refer to the same period, the closing up of the history, and indeed, of the existence, of the habitable globe. There is, however, another interpretation given to the Scriptures describing these events, which may be briefly stated as follows. The Old Testament prophecies, except where manifestly figurative, are to receive a literal fulfilment. The promises given to Israel are to be made good to Israel, not to the Church. The Old Testament prophecies being thus taken from the Church, the New Testament is found to contain no prediction of the universal spread of Christianity, but, on the contrary, sad forecasts of corruption, leading to judgment, in the body professing the name of Christ. In the midst of this gloom, however, the prospect of the Lord's coming for His saints shines as a bright hope for the hearts of the faithful. This coming, the date of which is purposely left undetermined, instead of being at the end of the world, is preliminary to the judgments awaiting the world, and to the reign of Christ with His saints. When it occurs, the living saints will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, and at the same time will take place, in part at least "the first resurrection," when the dead in Christ will be raised. Then follow the woes which usher in "the day of the Lord," when Israel is restored, Old Testament prophecy fulfllled, Satan bound, and the dominion of Christ established. on the earth. At its close Satan is loosed, the nations rebel, the world is consumed, and the "rest of the dead" are raised and judged. I propose to inquire which of these interpretations is correct. The question is not one of mere curiosity, still less an intrusion into regions we are forbidden to tread. The distinction which our Lord draws between the servant and the friend is that "the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth," while He told His disciples, as friends, all things that He had heard of His Father (John 15: 15). In the same discourse He promises to send "the Spirit of truth," the Comforter; to show them "things to come" (John 16: 13). Indeed, the very thought that the constant references to the future scattered through the sacred writings are not meant to be understood, carries its own refutation. And, as if foreseeing the spirit of unbelief and indifference which characterises the present time, the Holy Ghost has, in the introduction to the Apocalypse, the most distinctively prophetic portion of the New Testament, pronounced a special blessing on those "that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein" (Rev. 1: 3). While, moreover, it is admitted that the interpretation of prophecy may be attempted in a frivolously inquisitive spirit, are not those who turn a deaf ear to its promises and warnings themselves guilty of the same irreverence which they censure in others? For the object of prophecy is to unfold God's purposes with respect to the glory of His Son, whom man has refused, but whom God has exalted, and to whom every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess. In the contemplation of this theme, He invites His chosen ones to share. And who are these chosen ones? Are they mere lookers on? No, thanks be to God, we who believe in Jesus are His fellow-heirs — all things are ours. God invites us to look at the inheritance He has Himself prepared for us in joint possession with the Son of His love. And surely, as in the enjoyment of that inheritance, the "first-born," in whom we have our acceptance, will be the one object of our worship and delight, so in its contemplation now, our brightest thought should be that we are gazing on the portion prepared for Him who alone is worthy "to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing." To study prophecy with any more trivial object is to lose sight of this glorious end. It is like studying the movements of the solar system from the orbits of the more distant planets, without taking account of the central globe round which the whole revolves. But, on the other hand, to neglect it as unprofitable, because it does not contribute to our personal salvation, is a piece of selfishness derogatory to the claims of Christ, and unworthy of the condescending goodness of God in thus taking us into His own counsels. It is a deliberate preference of the position of a servant to that of a friend, a declaration that so long as our own interests are secured, we are indifferent as to what God has told us concerning the glories of Him who loved us and gave himself for us. Nor can we overlook the great practical importance of the inquiry. For surely there is a vast moral chasm between the two interpretations of coming events just indicated. If God's Word teaches that Christianity, instead of overspreading the world, will only prove, like Judaism, the incurable enmity of man to God, the jubilant and self-congratulatory tone prevalent in Christendom is nothing better than Laodicean self-complacency, saying, "I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing, while really it should be mourning that it is "wretched and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" (Rev. 3: 17). It is holding out a false and delusive hope, saying, "peace and safety," when "sudden destruction" is approaching. And if the world is hurrying on to judgment, Christians who see it will duly estimate the seductive cry of modern progress, and beware of entangling themselves in affairs over which such a doom is howling While, therefore, the deep solemnity of the subject forbids all idle curiosity, its importance equally condemns all selfish indifference. These things are written for our instruction, and it cannot be a matter of little moment whether the instruction which God has given is received or slighted, understood or misapprehended. Reverence for God's Holy Word, regard for the honour and glory of Christ, as well as the immense practical questions involved in the different schemes of interpretation, all unite in rebuking both the curious spirit in which the subject is too often approached, and the careless spirit in which it is too often avoided. For the sake of clearness the best mode of looking at the subject will be to inquire — First; What is the immediate prospect placed before the believer? in other words, What is the hope of the Church, according to the Word of God? This will naturally lead us to look, Secondly, At the promises of blessing and righteousness upon earth contained in the Old Testament Scriptures, and the mode in which these promises are to receive their fulfilment. Having thus distinguished between the hope of the Church and the prospect of blessing before the world, we shall be in a better position to ascertain and understand, Thirdly, The teaching of the Holy Ghost concerning the position held by the Church in God's dispensational dealings, and the moral relationship in which it stands towards the world, a matter involving the deepest and most practical lessons us to the walk suited to believers in the present age.

Book excerpt: This work expounds on Scripture, and outlines, from a biblical point of view, why Christ has sent his coronavirus to covenant breakers in his church. The thesis is that the world-wide virus (and other calamities which are building and exploding in our day) are here primarily for Christ’s church; his disobedient, covenant breaking church. This is a difficult and saddening time for many people. At the time this work was written, almost 689,000 people have died worldwide from the coronavirus, (158,000 in the US) and the Lord is adding more and more calamity to our country on top of the horrors of prolonged and disease-ridden death. All of it is calamity upon calamity. It’s actually “calamity” that God promises his covenant breaking church if they do not repent. What will the church do in a time like this? Since the calamity is growing and not subsiding, it doesn’t seem like the church is doing much of anything collectively to stop the plague by way of reform, much less those things that have not layered on top of that. The church needs to repent of its idolatry, its lack of scriptural precision, its confessional dismissiveness, its abominable worldliness in the sanctuary of God, and the dishonor they are continually bringing King Jesus, the one they "profess" to serve. God deals very harshly yet tenderly with his people when they break covenant with him. Taken from Leviticus 26, this work expounds and describes the following: that pestilence is a sign from Christ to his church, Christ’s remedies against the plague are sovereign prescriptions he alone commands, Christian humility is needed during times of occasional repentance (and what occasional repentance is), humility in prayer and fasting with godly zeal is required, what the nature of Christ’s afflicting providences are, and a number of other subjects related to the plague, especially if the church does not repent, that they are daring Christ to do his worst against them in their spiritual indifference.

Book excerpt: In Pursuit of His Glory is a journey into Gods plan to restore His glory to the temple in this end time hour. Is the glory of God the answer to the question of how God will birth end time revival? Has he promised that the end time glory will exceed the former glory experienced in the Old Testament temple? Could national revival be birthed in a single day? Is it possible that man will once again hear the audible voice of God? In this book, we will explore these possibilities as we endeavor to birth within each reader a fresh and renewed hunger for the manifest presence of the Lord. Since he personally experienced the presence of Gods glory, Pastor Hurst has been on a quest to once again enter this most holy place. His quest was heightened in January of 2003 after he experienced a most unusual visitation from the Holy Spirit.

The new season of the spirit is being prepared for the leaders. Leaders will be confronted by these mature, faithful prophets who will announce with great authority and force that position changes are imminent. True Apostles must now show their authority. "True Apostolic IS Coming" rang out from Heaven as I began to write this sermon. The prophetic message that said, "Apostle come forth" was given to me several months ago. I had no idea what was in store for me. Our apostolic mission will be upon us before we know it, therefore we need to gain a strong grasp on it now." This sort of apostolic leadership is exemplified by Samuel. None of the Lord's teachings were lost, and he did not ask for food from the people." Samuel's life and work have essential features that the Lord wants to pass on to the apostolic leadership that will shortly arise. If we dig deep into Samuel's story, we'll uncover important insights that will help us prepare for this leadership role and minister to the Father's heart. Scripture tells us that when the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus to take up residence within Him, a voice from above confirmed the truth of what had just happened. 2 Corinthians 6:19 An angelic voice proclaimed, "Thou are my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." Then the Holy Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove. Similar to the disciples hearing the confirming voice proclaiming Jesus to be God's Son whose words were eternal while seeing the Lord's transfiguration, Apparently, the attesting voice from above indicates that something can be taken for granted as factual. When we have a greater grasp of the apostolic, the more likely it is that we can continue this amazing work without being overwhelmed by its intensity and strength. Praise be to God if we are able to faithfully carry out this important duty with character and honesty. The Lord did not allow a single word of Samuel's to be lost. What a powerful demonstration of the closeness and trust between the Lord and those in authority over Him! As Samuel matured, the Lord was by his side, and nothing he said was lost.

Book excerpt: Philippians 3:20, 21: For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. The Blessed Hope of the Church is the churchs glorification and departure from the earth. It is the event by which the Son of Man brings many sons to glory (Hebrews 2:10). This is not a made-up doctrine contrived by the thoughts of man. All biblical principles and truths speak of the validity of this teaching and its occurrence before the coming tribulation. For the believer/church, the rapture is its sure and steadfast hope, its constant expectation.
