Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many times Christians excitedly receive a promise or vision from God. From that moment forward, they want to tell the whole world what God is going to do in and through them. It’s so exciting to have a promise from God. The Bible says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). But when God gives us a promise or vision, it takes time to see it fulfilled. Rarely is the vision for tomorrow or even the next year. It’s for a certain time set by God. He shows it to you early, but He still wants to prepare you for the journey ahead. Many Christians get discouraged during this process and walk away from God. But so many people in the Bible—like Abraham, Joseph, and David—had to go through years of preparation before they saw their visions fulfilled. They waited a long time, probably longer than most of us. Be encouraged and don’t let a thing called time destroy you before you even start. God is for you, and what He’s promised He will bring to pass.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Without question, one of the hardest things to do is wait for Gods timing. In this fast-paced world in which we live, things are set up for maximum speed and efficiency. Technology is now moving faster than ever before. Smartphones are so cutting edge that they allow news events to arrive seconds after they actually occur. We are so used to everything moving at lightning speed, that we have a very hard time adjusting to the slower pace that God likes to work things out. Dazed and confused we look for answers in all the wrong places. Our life becomes directed by fear instead of faith. We grow disheartened. Our faith can weaken. If you watch a seed grow you will not see much change from one day to the next. Although without water and care it will die. Faith is no different. There are perfect times in your future when your life will blossom. All that God asks is for you to wait. When you learn to wait for God's timing, your life will overflow with grace. Surely that is not for me? Yes, it can be. God has a perfect time to turn your life around. No amount of worrying or sleepless nights will change that time. Don't let the negative thoughts make you think otherwise. - Rev J Martin

Going beyond the basic definitions of kairos and chronos, Dutch brings fresh insight to the subject, examining Scripture to show how kairos (strategic) times and chronos (general) times are not two separate and unrelated seasons in our lives but rather, are often simply different phases of the same process. Dutch looks at how God brought about His divine shift in the lives of men and women throughout the Bible, and the many ways in which God used these seasons of change to deepen His people's understanding of Him.

Many people in general, and even Christians admittedly avoid the subject of pain almost as much as they avoid pain itself. But once you understand the purpose of pain, you can make the most of the painful experiences in life. In The Furnace of Affliction: How God Uses Our Pain and Suffering for His Purpose, Horace Williams, Jr. tackles this challenging topic. Based on the Word of God, insights from other leaders, and his studies, he addresses several key points, including: How pain develops our faith How pain determines our path How pain delivers comfort, joy, and peace And how pain deepens our commitment to God. Packed with personal stories and scripture to support his points, Horace shares his insights on the problem of pain. His candid and straightforward communication style engages the reader as he addresses this critical topic for the body of Christ today.

Book excerpt: - Improve your health and well-being. - Remove the problems from your life - Increase the power of your faith In life, day-to-day problems come to us all, but if our faith is weak, even small problems can quickly grow to appear bigger than they really are. Doubt and worry are the most destructive forms of fear; they can cloud our vision blinding us from the truth. A mountain of doubt can cripple your life. Like a rabbit in headlights, you close your eyes and freeze, hoping the problem will go away when you have opened them. When it remains, you can be left dazed and confused not knowing what way to turn. All rational thought goes out the window. In a panic to get things back to the way they were; you can make all the wrong decisions. No one likes change, but it is much easier when you come from a place of strength; when it originates from a place of faith and not fear. Faith is like a muscle; like any muscle, it needs to be consistently exercised to have maximum power. When all is going smoothly, our faith can be easily neglected, although this is the time that we must use to maintain its strength. If you were asked to run a marathon tomorrow, unless you had put in the training, you might not even reach the half way point. How then can you expect to have the faith to remove the problems from your life if you do not first develop a level of faith that can do so? Faith is something that needs constant attention or thoughts of doubt will set in. In this book, I will share with you methods to increase your faith, and keep it at its highest level; so you are prepared for any problem or difficulty that may arise. When you nurture your faith, you will begin to see your life change in unusual ways. Things that once held you back will soon fade away. A simple change of perspective can make a mountain become level ground. Change your life today; increase the power within.

But inside, you’re asking, “Am I enough?” No matter how good we look to others, the nagging voice of self-doubt is hard to shake. We ask questions like: If people really knew me would they still accept me? Will I be rejected when I can’t perform? Can I pull this off? What if I end up alone? Am I missing out on what life should be because I can’t shake this fear? If you find yourself having thoughts like these, Erica Wiggenhorn wants to lead you to freedom. Drawing from the story of Moses—the greatest self-doubter in the Bible—Erica shows how self-doubt is tied closely to self-reliance. It’s only when you cast yourself on God that you find the true source of strength. Are you enough? The answer is no . . . but your God certainly is. Step out in His power instead of your own and watch your confidence blossom because you’re in the hands of I AM.

Book excerpt: “A fascinating story, rich in emotion.” —Diana Gabaldon, New York Times bestselling author of the Outlander series North Carolina, 1793 Ian Cameron, a Boston cabinetmaker turned frontier trapper, has come to Mountain Laurel hoping to remake himself yet again—into his planter uncle’s heir. No matter how uneasily the role of slave owner rests upon his shoulders. Then he meets Seona—beautiful, artistic, and enslaved to his kin. Seona has a secret: she’s been drawing for years, ever since that day she picked up a broken slate to sketch a portrait. When Ian catches her at it, he offers her opportunity to let her talent flourish, still secretly, in his cabinetmaking shop. Taking a frightening leap of faith, Seona puts her trust in Ian. A trust that leads to a deeper, more complicated bond. As fascination with Seona turns to love, Ian can no longer be the man others have wished him to be. Though his own heart might prove just as untrustworthy a guide, he cannot simply walk away from those his kin enslaves. With more lives than his and Seona’s in the balance, the path Ian chooses now will set the course for generations of Camerons to come. A story of choice and consequence, of bondage and freedom, of faith and family.

Book excerpt: "Gods Perfect Timing: Breaking the Cycle of Poverty with Education and Faith is about how important events in our lives happen according to Gods timing, not our own. Come with me on a spiritual journey through poverty, child abuse, and my struggle to overcome dyslexia through special education. I share a chilling account of how I survived being struck by lightning at football practice at the beginning of my senior year of high school. After my dream of becoming a professional athlete got shattered, I survived on the streets with dangerous criminals." Can you make lightning appear and cause it to strike as you direct? (Job 38:35) Lucky to Be Alive For on August 18, Caruth was standing in the defensive backfield during Coronados football practice when an incredible event knocked him right off the football field and literally into medical journals. Dressed in full football gear, Caruth was struck by on the head by a bold of lightning. The bolt burned through protective padding in the helmet at the point where a metal screw was fixed, blacked the neck of his jersey, singed his pants, and left his socks looking as though theyd been treated with a blowtorch. C. W. Nevius Forward By Reverend Alfonso Wyatt I spent my career as an educator, youth developer, advocate, counselor, role model and minister transforming the lives of countless young people caught in tumultuous life circumstances beyond their control or choosing. The aforementioned perspective allows me to understand and appreciate the profound power contained in Gods Perfect Timing: Breaking The Cycle of Poverty with Education and Faith, by Dr. David D. Caruth. Brother Caruth unapologetically takes readers into his world and lays bare horrific childhood events namely: physical/sexual abuse, hunger, deprivation, physical, emotional challenges as well as the need for special education. If this were not enough, David, as a promising high school football player, with dreams of turning pro, was struck by lightning while on the practice field100 players were leveled by the bolt, David was the only one that did not get up. The story could have ended right there with yet another African American child failing to thrive, doomed to living in the now all-too-familiar clutch of poverty, crime, drugs, gangs, incarceration, nihilism and neglector dying too soon. The seeds of failure were clearly sown into the life and psyche of the author. Yet the reader will discover that in the midst of seemingly insurmountable odds, David is able to change the odds. This social miracle was accomplished by seeds planted by Davids mother, namely the seed of faith revealed in the telling of biblical stories like David and Goliath (a Divine metaphor if you will). This book shows educators, faith leaders, policy makers, parents, young people and yes, even the naysayer, how the cycle of poverty, perpetuated by low self-esteem, academic indifference, victim thinking/blaming and dysfunctional family life can be broken once and for all. So beloved, come on the arduous and ultimately triumphant journey of David D. Caruths lifetime. If you accept this invitation please be open to the reality that the same power that found a young boy at his most vulnerable time; the same power that snatched him from the sure grip of death; the same power that helped him overcome staggering life obstacles and receive a terminal degree, is the same power that can change the lives of readersnow that Gods Perfect Timing is in full effect. The Reverend Alfonso Wyatt has four decades of experience developing young people as well as working with public, private, community based youth serving organizations and the faith community involved in the same effort. Reverend Wyatt, a D.Min candidate at New York Theological Seminary, is an ordained Elder on the ministerial staff of The Greater Allen Cathedral of New York and he and his wife are co-authors of Soul Be Free Poems Prose Prayers. Preface Gods Perfect Timing: Breaking the Cycle of Poverty with Education and Faith is about how important events in our lives happen according to Gods timing, not our own. Come with me on a spiritual journey through poverty, child abuse, and my struggle to overcome a learning disability through special education. I share a chilling account of how I survived being struck by lightning at football practice at the beginning of my senior year of high school. After my dream of becoming a professional athlete got shattered, I survived on the streets with dangerous criminals. Throughout my life, my mom, Zelna A. Caruth, was my primary source of strength. She was raised in Chicago and overcame more adversity in her life than anyone I knew. Her father died in a fire when she was 4 years old and her mother passed away when she was 12. As the oldest of four siblings, with two younger sisters and a baby brother, she called Bugs, her childhood ended at a very early age. She was also my most important teacher and source of strength. She taught me not to criticize or judge others until I walked a mile in their moccasins. I understood her lessons, because I had seven older brothers and sisters and one younger sister, and my own shoes had cutout cardboard for bottoms. Like a sponge, I absorbed as much of my moms wisdom as I could. She taught me about the Bible, and to believe that God works in mysterious ways. She let me know early on in life that man would let me down, and that I needed to put my faith and trust in the Lord. If I trusted in the Lord, she would say, and not worry so much about what other people had, only then would I begin to see the miracles that God was performing in my own life. She was right of course. When I look at my own life, there are numerous times, too many to count, when my life could have, and probably should have ended, and God made a miracle happen to keep me going. I also learned that not all miracles are pleasant. Unpleasant miracles are difficult for most of us to grasp. We find it difficult to understand why a loving God would not only allow, but cause unpleasant events to happen in our lives. I questioned my mom about why bad things happened to good people and good things happened to bad people. My moms answer was that, God allowed Jesus to die on the cross, only to raise him from the dead to glorify his own power. She left it to me to figure out the meaning of her words. For most of us, those with children anyway, we find it difficult to imagine allowing our child to be crucified so that the world could bear witness to our power. God help us if our children get injured on fields of play. If our children get hurt, our hearts fill with pain and sadness, and we want the world to see us rush to comfort them. We grow up learning that people who love us should protect us from unpleasant events that occur daily in our own lives. In our house, my brothers and sisters seldom felt protected. What we felt on most days was hunger, jealousy, misery, envy and multiple kinds of abuse. I wrote this book, because I believe that, in spite of the challenges we face and endure day after day, miracles happen every day of our lives; however, most of the time, we dont recognize them when we see them. After reading this book, my hope is that you will begin to see how God works through people to influence the lives of other people. You will learn how to recognize Gods Perfect Timing in your own life, and to take action when the time is right. If God can bring me through poverty, child abuse and special education, back from death and homelessness, to earning a PhD, buying several homes for my family, and sending my children to private school, then you too should be able to have faith that God has a design on your life, and has already blessed you with miracle after miracle.

Book excerpt: In "Divine Timing: Understanding God's Perfect Plan for Your Life," readers are invited to explore the profound concept of God's timing and its impact on our daily lives. This insightful book delves into the often-overlooked truth that God’s timing, though mysterious, is always perfect. Through a series of engaging narratives and biblical references, the author illuminates the significance of aligning ourselves with God's timeline, rather than our own. Drawing from everyday examples, such as the patience required in cooking a meal to perfection, the book makes the abstract concept of divine timing tangible and relatable. It challenges the reader to consider how impatience and a desire for immediate gratification can lead us astray, using the analogy of a bus stop to illustrate how rushing ahead or lagging behind can disrupt God's plan for us. "Divine Timing" also tackles the difficulties of waiting and the struggle to trust in God’s plan, especially when His schedule doesn't align with our expectations. It provides a fresh perspective on waiting periods as not just idle time, but as opportunities for growth and preparation for what’s to come. The book culminates in a powerful reflection on the biblical story of Jesus and Jerusalem, serving as a stark reminder of the consequences of missing our appointed time with God. It emphasizes the importance of being receptive and responsive to God’s guidance, avoiding the pitfalls of haste and impatience. Perfect for anyone seeking spiritual growth or struggling with the concept of divine timing, this book offers a comforting assurance that while we may not always understand God's ways, we can trust that He is working for our good. It’s a call to embrace the journey of faith, with all its twists and turns, trusting that in the end, we will arrive exactly where we're meant to be, exactly when we're meant to be there.
