Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is not your typical book. I am not here to preach or give you a cliché perspective on life. We have heard it all. I wrote this book to share some of the many lessons I have learned throughout my life. Through these stories, I have been able to show my family and friends a different perspective on how to operate in life through God’s help. It includes some of my stories that are my daughters’ favorites for me to tell. They are from middle school, high school, college, and adulthood. The goal is to display how He has turned bad situations around for the good, even “okay” situations into better ones, in a relatable manner that people can connect to. I have seen how God can show up in our everyday lives, even when you least expect it. Through this book and all my stories, I want to show the sovereignty of God’s love and greatness in our day-to-day lives—some good, some funny, and some quite unique.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE DIVINE INTERVENTION OF GOD IN HUMAN TRIUMPH! Many of us may not be aware of how divine interventions work to change adverse circumstances surrounding our lives. It seems to me that God who created us in His own image also continues to shape the events in our lives. The author of this book is Rev. James Abolarin, who, by the grace of Christ, has overcome many odds in this world. Each year of his life tells a different story of how God has helped him to overcome adversities. The Lord has made him an asset in the body of Christ as he wants to teach you how to fight and succeed as you go through the journey of life. He has found out that it is never the will of God that believers live their lives defeated, but instead, they should be more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Every new year possesses enormous challenges to many of us in this world. These challenges are very real and unavoidable. If anyone thinks that eluding these challenges will make life easier, such an individual is living in a fantasy land. Jesus came to this world. He was confronted with challenges, being the Lord and the Creator of the universe. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. —Colossians 1:15–20 The incarnation of Jesus as God in human flesh was to send the message of God’s divine intervention in the affairs of men in order to set things straight in our lives. This has been part of God’s plan for the world when He spoke to Abraham many times. Emmanuel, in the book of Matthew 1, means God is with us. It demonstrated a new era of God’s willingness to save the oppressed. Over several years in my ministry, I have come face-to-face with many challenges that have dented my life both positively and, unfortunately, negatively as well. However, enlisting Christ in my battles in life has made all things work the best for me without regret. I live with full assurance of a better tomorrow and not in despair because of the confidence I have in Christ as a Christian. According to the book of Romans 8:28, all things work together for good. Just read the verse below. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Those who are not spiritually enlightened are often argued against God’s divine interventions because their spiritual eyes are darkened. I have learned many lessons through life challenges and have grown tremendously in experiences because of these challenges. During my ups and downs in life, I have seen a lot of miracles. I am a prayerful man, and I am always hungry for the truth. For example, my wife and I just returned from “A Deeper Life Convention of 2012.” We were richly blessed from all the messages we heard, especially those that were pungently delivered by our father in the Lord, Rev. W. F. Kumuyi. In fact, we came back to the USA fired up to do more exploit for Christ this year. We have unwavering conviction that this year will be the beginning of a new thing in our ministry. Upon returning to the United States, the first Sunday worship was very good. People were happy that we came back safely, and they clapped their hands for Jesus Christ. I always consider it an honor when people appreciate their ministers in such a way. The challenge is how to deepen their love for Christ this year so they can do t

The characters have survived death at sea, the attack of vicious gunmen, the forces of evil, the sleep of death and many other heart gripping interventions of the mighty hands of an all time God. In all these stories the presence of God featured mightily above the intervention of man. God spoke to man as He did in accounts recorded in the bible, foretelling of events, answering requests, giving directives in averting plots, in finding lost family member and unctions to dispel evil encounters. This book will build faith in God, provide hope for the hopeless and encouragement to those who are struggling spiritually and otherwise. It provides examples for individuals who are encountering temptations of various sorts and difficulty in achieving their goals in life. A little of Godly parenting and nurturing for one's self development is included. Jesus, the Good Shepherd and other bible characters are featured as examples for those who are counselors and leaders. This book is a thriller!

They're often aggravating, sometimes infuriating, and can make us want to tell people what we really think about them. But they also tell us something quite important about ourselves. The prophet Jonah's life was interrupted by a clear call of God that made him mad enough and scared enough to run in the completely opposite direction. Yet it wasn't really an interruption. It was an opportunity for Jonah to be involved in something the likes of which the Old Testament world had never seen: national revival in a Gentile country. What if Jonah had seen God's interruption for what it truly was—a divine intervention that held more adventure and possibility than any other thing he could have been doing at the time? What could have felt any better than being directly in the center of God's will? Yet we play it that same way—always running from major pains and minor problems that just don't seem to suit us at the time. Who knows what we're missing by being so interruption avoidant? In this very personal account of opportunities lost and lessons learned, popular conference speaker and author Priscilla Shirer shows how to embrace the amazing freedom and fulfillment that comes from going with God, even when He's going against your grain. .

Book excerpt: This book is the outcome of the persistent nudging of the Paraclete in the author to shine the light on God's handiwork in his like. It is in keeping with Dr. Anthony Akubue's belief in giving credit to whom credit is due and his conviction not to let the favors of God to him a well-kept secret. You do the right thing when you light a lamp by putting it on a lampstand, not under a bowl or bed, for people to see. The author finds himself breaking down and crying occasionally, being overwhelmed that the Lord God loves a puny sinner like him. What you read in this book about the experiences of divine interventions in the life of the author will leave you in awe and conviction that God truly exists and is omnipotent, omniscience, and omnipresent. For instance, who was the old woman walking with a staff in hand that warned the author on September 4, 1968, afternoon to leave the site of a market square immediately, after which the market was heavily bombed and many people were slaughtered?

Book excerpt: Do miracles still happen today? This book demonstrates that miraculous works of God, which have been part of the experience of the church around the world since Christianity began, continue into the present. Leading New Testament scholar Craig Keener addresses common questions about miracles and provides compelling reasons to believe in them today, including many accounts that offer evidence of verifiable miracles. This book gives an accessible and concise overview of one of Keener's most significant research topics. His earlier two-volume work on miracles stands as the definitive word on the topic, but its size and scope are daunting to many readers. This new book summarizes Keener's basic argument but contains substantial new material, including new accounts of the miraculous. It is suitable as a textbook but also accessible to church leaders and laypeople.

Book excerpt: What miracles do we miss when we close our eyes to the wonder of everyday moments? In this busy, jaded world of ours, we often take for granted what we see every day. We may set aside time to spend with God in a quiet room, but we struggle to see his hand in a traffic jam or while walking the dog. But for Karen Wingate, sight itself is something extraordinary, and what our eyes can reveal is even more astounding. Karen lived most of her life with severely limited sight due to a cluster of disorders stemming from a genetic defect. But through the chance outcome of a surgery, she regained sight in one eye that doubled her visual acuity—and allowed her to see things she had never seen before. And as she discovered a more detailed world for the first time, she also began to see God in every new discovery—from the prosaic numbers of a bathroom scale to the glory of sunsets. With Fresh Eyes invites readers to not only celebrate the gift of their own sight but also reawaken the wonder of what they observe in creation—great and small—and how God is working in everyday moments. In each of her sixty meditations, Karen's humor and whimsy draw a connection between physical sight and spiritual understanding that will leave readers with a renewed joy and delight in what is good and beautiful, and will reassure them that God still works in the lives of his people.

Book excerpt: Three approaches to questions about the theological connection between the Old and New Testaments. The relationship between the Testaments is not as simple and straightforward as it sometimes appears. When New Testament authors appeal to Old Testament texts to support their arguments, what is the relationship between their meanings and what was originally intended by their Old Testament forebears? Leading biblical scholars Walter Kaiser, Darrel Bock, and Peter Enns present their answers to questions about the use of the Old Testament in the New Testament, addressing elements such as: Divine and human authorial intent. Context of passages. Historical and cultural considerations. The theological grounds for different interpretive methods. Each author applies his framework to specific texts so that readers can see how their methods work out in practice. Each contributor also receives a thorough critique from the other two authors. Three Views on the New Testament Use of Old Testament gives readers the tools they need to develop their own views on the meaning, contexts, and goals behind the New Testament citations of the Old. The Counterpoints series presents a comparison and critique of scholarly views on topics important to Christians that are both fair-minded and respectful of the biblical text. Each volume is a one-stop reference that allows readers to evaluate the different positions on a specific issue and form their own, educated opinion.

Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.
