Book Synopsis Proportioned Geometrics by : Frank Arca
Download or read book Proportioned Geometrics written by Frank Arca and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2006-03 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The contents of this book propose a solution to the current problem in physics, specifically concerning the areas of Grand Unification of space-time, matter, and force. Grand unification describes the nature of combining the known forces in nature, the Electro-magnetic, strong, weak, and Gravitational forces, into a singular equilibrium. That is, the need for a framework to predict the behavior of systems at very small scales, such as atoms and particles, and those of the very large scales, such as galaxies, stars, planets, etc., and thus far within the articles of physics, there is still no reasonable explanation of the origins of space-time and matter. The current difficulty in physics is the incompatibility of the two theories, which define space-time at different levels; quantum mechanics predicts the behavior of systems of the atomic world, and general relativity, which predicts the behavior of systems on the cosmic scale. There exists an element in reality which makes it a paradox, that is, it is not seemingly consistent if small matter is imputed into the equations of large matter, and vice versa. If for example, the information of the moon is inserted into an equation defining its physical properties, and if the same is done for an electron, then the outcomes of both ought yield an equivalent solution.

Book Synopsis Analysis and Modeling of Relationships Between Accidents and the Geometric and Traffic Characteristics of the Interstate System by : Julie Anna Fee
Download or read book Analysis and Modeling of Relationships Between Accidents and the Geometric and Traffic Characteristics of the Interstate System written by Julie Anna Fee and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Principal findings of this study were that geometrics alone account for only a small portion of the variance in accidents and that no relationship could be established between fatalities and the geometrics studied. The geometrics studied include several types of interchanges, paved shoulders, sight distance, delineators, surface types, and other variables. Mathematical models were developed which can provide estimates of the average number of accidents on a particular type of highway or interchange, using the appropriate variables.

Book Synopsis Algorithms and Data Structures by : Frank Dehne
Download or read book Algorithms and Data Structures written by Frank Dehne and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-07-31 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The papers in this volume were presented at the Sixth Workshop on Algorithms and Data Structures (WADS '99). The workshop took place August 11 - 14, 1999, in Vancouver, Canada. The workshop alternates with the Scandinavian Workshop on Algorithms Theory (SWAT), continuing the tradition of SWAT and WADS starting with SWAT'88 and WADS'89. In response to the program committee's call for papers, 71 papers were submitted. From these submissions, the program committee selected 32 papers for presentation at the workshop. In addition to these submitted papers, the program committee invited the following researchers to give plenary lectures at the workshop: C. Leiserson, N. Magnenat-Thalmann, M. Snir, U. Vazarani, and 1. Vitter. On behalf of the program committee, we would like to express our appreciation to the six plenary lecturers who accepted our invitation to speak, to all the authors who submitted papers to W ADS'99, and to the Pacific Institute for Mathematical Sciences for their sponsorship. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to all the people who reviewed papers at the request of the program committee. August 1999 F. Dehne A. Gupta J.-R. Sack R. Book excerpt: This is the first of five planned volumes to present the primary archaeological report about the excavation of the cave of Hagios Charalambos in eastern Crete. The Minoans used this small cavern as an ossuary for the secondary burial of human remains and grave goods, primarily during the Early and Middle Bronze Age. The geography and geology surrounding the cave is discussed along with the methodology of the excavation. A portion of the pottery and all of the small finds are presented with many illustrations.

Book Synopsis Landscape as Territory by : Clara Olóriz
Download or read book Landscape as Territory written by Clara Olóriz and published by Actar D, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-01-28 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Landscape as Territory is a cartographic book project that critically addresses the agency of architects in the so-called ‘Urban Age,’ understanding the notion of ‘territory’ as a field of design praxis through which Interconnected landscapes are produced. Territory, understood as a ‘political technology,’ has the capacity to involve architects and designers into complex social, political, technical, legal, strategic and economic processes that are both historical and geographical engines of contemporary urbanization. Islands in Northern Norway. Territorial praxis is interrogated in a collection of threaded theory and design contributions where essays pose key questions that are addressed through projective cartographies, unfolding arguments related to three sections: (1) territory, (2) critical cartographies and (3) agency.
Book Synopsis Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing by : James D. Meadows
Download or read book Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing written by James D. Meadows and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-10-19 with total page 626 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explaining the symbology of dimensioning and tolerancing and introducing a step-by-step system for geometric definition, this book provides examples for the application of geometric controls. The author breaks down the language of geometric product definition into a series of steps that consist of significant questions to be asked at any point in the product definition. He addresses functional requirements and manufacturing techniques, measurement, inspection, and gaging procedures. The book illustrates how symbology is best utilized, in what order it should be applied, and how each geometric control anticipates, integrates, and complements all other geometric controls on a part and in an assembly.
