Chapters include: Witch's Memories and Beliefs, The Stone Age Origins of Witchcraft, Druidism and the Aryan Celts, Magic Thinking, Curious Beliefs about Witches, Signs and Symbols, The Black Mass, Some Allegations Examined. The Meaning of Witchcraft is a record of witches' roots-and a tribute to a founding pioneer with the courage to set that record straight.

Book excerpt: In Old World Witchcraft, noted author Raven Grimassi covers totally new territory--in his work and in the world of popular witchcraft books published in the last few decades. This book is actually about “an enchanted worldview,” one that has not necessarily been inherited from the beliefs and practices of any particular region and one which is available to us today. The “Old World” in the title is actually about a magical view of the Plant Kingdom and the spirits attached to it. While Grimassi’s previous books discuss the cultural expressions and commonality of witchcraft beliefs and practices in general, this book penetrates much deeper. Old World Witchdraft reveals rarely discussed topics such as the concept of Shadow as the organic memory of the earth. Readers will learn rooted techniques that possess power because these ways have always been connected to it. They will learn methods of interfacing with the ancestral current and with the organic memory of the earth. Through these they can connect with the timeless arts and learn methods of empowerment directly from the ancient source. Totally new information about familiar tools is presented. For example, the mortar and pestle is a tool for spell casting, a device that creates interfacing with plant spirits and with shadow, and a focal point for veneration of the Plant Kingdom. Grimassi also presents the art of using plant ashes for magical sigil work. This book is for people who have had their fill of books that say the same things over and over, who want to take the next step, and who are eager for the more rooted ways that have remained largely hidden.

Book excerpt: This is the primary textbook of Heritage Witchcraft Academy. HeritageWitchcraft.com Its purpose is to introduce new and potential students to the authentic, historical Witchcraft tradition. Authentic Witchcraft is defined by three essential characteristics. First, Witchcraft is not religious. It has no gods, no prayer and no worship. Instead, it is based in a spiritual world-view called Animism. The second defining characteristic of authentic Witchcraft is that every Witch has a Familiar-Spirit who is a primary source of his or her power. This relationship takes the form of a courtship and romance. The final characteristic of authentic witchcraft is a subject long shunned by Wiccans and Neo-Pagans; The Devil. It is important for real Witches to understand what our ancestors believed about him and why. For true Witches, the Devil is the essence of the indiscriminate forces of nature and the dark aspects of the human psyche. He represents intellectual, sexual and moral freedom.

"I'm tempted to say this is the best book by Dr. Isis Day; but not really, because each one of her books has something special and unique about it. However, I'd say that if you've not read any of her books before, this would be the best and first one to start with, then you can go read the other ones. 'I Am A Witch; I Choose Paganism, ' is a very wonderful book worth reading over and over." --- Marie Guillaumes (Editor). From the book -- 'I Am A Witch - I Choose Paganism, ' by Dr. Isis Day: "People have formed all sorts of ill notions about Witches, Witchcraft, Magic and Pagans, and act on such preconceptions accordingly. So-called experts claim to know everything about Witches, when all they have is the backwater, storybook, movie, flea-market and superstitious distortions of the true definition of Witches and Pagans. But then, again, Witches, true and real Witches, are everywhere, in plain sight, yet invisible to the un-initiated... and with Paganism considered one of the fastest growing religions of today, the number will surely be forever on the increase. Hooray! People are finally seeing the light! Misinforming the public about Witches and Pagans has since been a strong, silent and invisible fist that some religions and individuals have used successfully to control, push out and pull in who they want, when and where and how they want it. Promise to protect people from Witches and they'll be yours to keep and sway as you please forever. A lot of the materials out there on Pagans and Witches are put out by non-Pagans who for the most part are anti-Pagans. So inquirers are actually more exposed to the wrong information -- data that has been primarily designed to malign Pagans, Witches, Magic and Witchcraft; data whose ultimate purpose is to paint Pagans evil. Once in a while people ask me questions about Pagans, Witches, Magic and Witchcraft, and this book is very much in response to such questions. Yep! The Witch is back! With more oomph to keep you witchy and pagan, while helping inquirers and seekers know a few things about us." This book -- 'I Am A Witch; I Choose Paganism, ' by Dr. Isis Day -- is the long-awaited book that sheds extra light on Paganism and Witchcraft. Every Pagan and every true student of occult wisdom should read this book asap, and everyone sincerely inquiring about Pagans, Witches, Magic and Witchcraft should also read it right away, and share it with friends too, and let the truth speak for itself. This book was released on 2020-09-28 with total page 550 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robert Calef, called a merchant of the town, either listened to statements or received written ones, made by other persons who had been present with Mather around this afflicted girl at her home during some scenes which the latter had described, or he was himself a witness there. From data early obtained he furnished a version of the case which disparaged the minister’s account, and questioned the propriety of some of his proceedings. Calef’s was in itself a rather meager production, not putting forth the whole or even the main facts in the case, but indicating that in this, that, and the other particular, Mather had misstated or overstated, and that some of his own acts might be indelicate or improper. This production so incensed Mather that he openly pronounced Calef “the worst of liars,” threatened him with prosecution for slander, and actually commenced legal proceedings against him. In a subsequent letter, September 29, Calef respectfully asked Mather for a personal interview in the presence of two witnesses, in order that they might discuss and explain. Mather intimated willingness to comply with the request, but dallied, till Calef, November 24, sent a second letter, in which, rising at once above the comparatively trifling question whether himself or Mather had furnished the more accurate and better report, he grappled with fundamental questions pertaining to the devil, witchcrafts, and possession, and set forth distinctly some points which, in his judgment, needed discussion then; for on them he dissented from Mather, and probably from a majority of the people amid whom he was living. In much of that letter, Calef, or whoever composed it, manifested discriminating intellect, clear perception of his points, firm will, together with strong desire and purpose to labor earnestly for acquisition of knowledge by which either to convince himself that his own positions were unsound, or to better qualify himself to reform some prevalent faiths and practices. The Bible was his magazine, and implements, weapons, or stores from any other source he deemed it unlawful to use for defining, detecting, or punishing witchcraft. Bowing to the Scriptures in unquestioning submission, he took them as guide and authority. In the outset, frankly and definitely stating his own belief, he, in an apparently manly way, sought manly discussion.
