Se ha cambiado el modelo educativo en donde el docente era la figura de autoridad y la enseñanza era en un solo sentido, por un modelo centrado en el estudiante y que permite la interacción entre el profesor y el alumno en todo momento. La tecnología es parte esencial para la realización de este modelo de aprendizaje, ya que permite una interactividad con la que antes no se contaba, es por eso que diferentes instituciones están investigando e incorporando nuevas tecnologías y nuevos ambientes de aprendizaje para el logro de objetivos planteados por dicha institución. El objetivo del presente estudio es explicar la relación que guarda el docente con el desarrollo emocional, racional y académico del estudiante dentro de un ambiente de aprendizaje basado en tecnología. La investigación fue realizada a través de instrumentos de análisis cualitativos para estudiar el comportamiento de los alumnos y su desempeño académico, además del desarrollo del docente en relación al uso de la tecnología durante el semestre que duró la investigación. Los principales hallazgos encontrados fueron que el estudiante en la mayoría de los casos mejoró su desempeño en este tipo de aulas basadas en tecnología, los alumnos se sienten mas confiados y seguros ya que se encuentran en un ambiente acorde a su generación, y los docentes demandan capacitación constante en el uso de recursos tecnológicos.

Book excerpt: Based on twenty case studies of universities worldwide, and on a survey administered to leaders in 101 universities, this open access book shows that, amidst the significant challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, universities found ways to engage with schools to support them in sustaining educational opportunity. In doing so, they generated considerable innovation, which reinforced the integration of the research and outreach functions of the university. The evidence suggests that universities are indeed open systems, in interaction with their environment, able to discover changes that can influence them and to change in response to those changes. They are also able, in the success of their efforts to mitigate the educational impact of the pandemic, to create better futures, as the result of the innovations they can generate. This challenges the view of universities as "ivory towers" being isolated from the surrounding environment and detached from local problems. As they reached out to schools, universities not only generated clear and valuable innovations to sustain educational opportunity and to improve it, this process also contributed to transform internal university processes in ways that enhanced their own ability to deliver on the third mission of outreach

Over the past two decades, the way we learn has changed dramatically. We have new sources of information and new ways to exchange and to interact with information. But our schools and the way we teach have remained largely the same for years, even centuries. What happens to traditional educational institutions when learning also takes place on a vast range of Internet sites, from Pokemon Web pages to Wikipedia? This report investigates how traditional learning institutions can become as innovative, flexible, robust, and collaborative as the best social networking sites. The authors propose an alternative definition of “institution” as a “mobilizing network”—emphasizing its flexibility, the permeability of its boundaries, its interactive productivity, and its potential as a catalyst for change—and explore the implications for higher education. The Future of Thinking reports on innovative, virtual institutions. It also uses the idea of a virtual institution both as part of its subject matter and as part of its process: the first draft of the book was hosted on a Web site for collaborative feedback and writing. The authors use this experiment in participatory writing as a test case for virtual institutions, learning institutions, and a new form of collaborative authorship. The finished version is still posted and open for comment. This book is the full-length report of the project, which was summarized in an earlier MacArthur volume, The Future of Learning Institutions in a Digital Age.
