When April Cofield Essix delivers those words in her motivational speeches, people sit up and take notice. Within the last year alone, well over two thousand people have heard that statement and it has changed their lives. A former crack addict, prostitute and prison inmate, Essix is an authority on the life of someone with a drug addiction. She speaks candidly about the destructive behavior that almost took her life and the one power on earth strong enough to help her live through it. From Crack to Christ: A Witness is the written testimony of her life, and, for readers, a straightforward voice that speaks from experience of a pandemic that has spread across the nation.

Book excerpt: This book is an honest and telling, real-life story of tragedy, abandonment, addiction and loss but ultimately of how deposits of rejection unchecked and uncured left a child still screaming for her father even though her body had matured. This truly is an insignia to the writer of her triumphs and through the extremes of her many challenges, we find all our stories being interwoven into the tapestry of each chapter.

Book excerpt: There is so much to say about a woman who doesnt know the meaning of the word cant. Kimily has the passion to heal, deliver, and set free. God uses this passion to continuously renew her faith, instilling her belief that with Christ all things are possible. Although Kimily has had more than her fair share of obstacles to overcome, she is, what one may call, a Bodacious woman of Faith an individual who quickly arises at the sound of Gods voice, with great conviction. Kimily will not stop short of carrying out her purpose and call in any given season. I dont know if she realizes it, but she has the ability to empower life and prosperity in the life of another in the midst of a mere conversation. This life story is a great testimony of humility, acceptance, grace and love. It is with great zeal that I recommend this book to all readers, young and seasoned. At one time or another, we all will have addictions to overcome. Whether it is drugs, alcohol, sex, or plain negativity, true problems occur when an individual is not willing to face their weaknesses. When weaknesses are not acknowledged and dealt with accordingly, the individual is inevitably suffocated by their own challenges. When reading through the pages of this book, you will witness Kimilys ability to persevere through the miry muck and walk forth in great favor and God given ability. To Kimily Thompson Jenkins, God is our father and He is a fan of your success. Thank you for understanding the process. Youre God Daughter, Absolute (Portia Bryant)

Follow the story of Alina, a socially awkward, timid girl who has no memory of her pre-birth life in heaven. At the age of twelve, Alina begins to have vivid and realistic dreams about heaven. With each dream, Alina learns a variety of valuable lessons that help her overcome tremendous heartache and gain the tools necessary to fight the evil one who is determined to ensure that her mission on earth is unsuccessful. It details the beauty of the afterlife, confirms that we were all born with a divine purpose and given extraordinary gifts to face life's challenges

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book will make a profound difference for the church in this moment in history." — The Most Reverend Michael B. Curry Sometimes it takes disruption and loss to break us open and call us home to God. It’s not surprising that a global pandemic and once-in-a-generation reckoning with white supremacy—on top of decades of systemic decline—have spurred Christians everywhere to ask who we are, why God placed us here and what difference that makes to the world. In this critical yet loving book, the author explores the American story and the Episcopal story in order to find out how communities steeped in racism, establishment, and privilege can at last fall in love with Jesus, walk humbly with the most vulnerable and embody beloved community in our own broken but beautiful way. The Church Cracked Open invites us to surrender privilege and redefine church, not just for the sake of others, but for our own salvation and liberation.

A teenager seeing her long-term debilitating illness vanish in an instant. A church receiving cash out of thin air, ensuring it survives the threat of closure. A man defying death, multiple times, following life-threatening injuries sustained in a head-on road collision. Light through the Cracks contains ten true stories, united by a common theme: All of them feature ordinary people encountering God, in extraordinary ways, in the toughest of life's circumstances. Starting with her own dramatic story of the car accident that could have left her dead or paralysed, Joanna Watson writes authentically and compellingly of how God breaks in when life turns tough. Each story raises faith, builds hope, and encourages readers to look for God's Light through the cracks in their own challenging situations.

This book was released on 2018-08-07 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a child, I was brought up in church and taught Christian values. These valuable lessons would prove useful later in my life as I looked for a way out of a bad situation I was in due to bad decisions that I had made. Questioning my self-worth as a child, I turned away from the church trying to find a place to fit in. Not realizing the extent of how much I did not know at the age of twelve, I started to get lost in the world of drugs and alcohol. My addictions became stronger as I got older and experienced a life where not all things worked the way I hoped they would. While my addictions went from drinking beer and smoking marijuana to smoking crack and drinking anything available, a place to fit in became more of a place of isolation for me as I no longer felt comfortable being around most family members if I had something stronger than just a few beers. This was in most cases when I would get high with other addicts or alone because for me a drink was always better with crack. At least that was the lie I would tell myself, along with the lie that my problem wasn't that bad. Finally, after thirty years of addiction, on June 6, 2006, I hit my rock bottom, but I remembered what I had learned as a child about a power above all other powers. I prayed to the highest power, and God, my Father in heaven, made a way for me to get into a drug-and-alcohol treatment program. I went through the program and took what I needed from it with the understanding that words also have power. Because of my faith and what I had learned in church as a child, I refuse to put the words of man. Addicts suffer from a disease for which there's no cure above the word of God. You are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37) and By his stripes you are healed (1 Peter 2:24). I do not believe that Jesus died for me and rose from the dead with power over all things except an addiction. I believe He came to conquer ALL sin so that all lost sinners who believed in Him and worked on building a personal relationship with Him could be recovered when He returned.

When we face unexpected personal crises or when society around us seems to be collapsing, we wonder: Why is this happening? Can God be trusted? Who can I trust to help me follow Jesus through this current crisis? When the Universe Cracks is a sweeping, multifaceted look at the role of crisis in the life of faith from an esteemed gathering of pastors, faith leaders, and experts. You'll find honest and realistic reflections to help you navigate a present trouble or anticipate changes. Inspired by a global pandemic, these writers examine the whole history of God's people and offer a fresh perspective for every time the universe cracks. Scholar and church leader Angie Ward facilitates this energizing and fascinating discussion. Thought leaders Jo Anne Lyon, Efrem Smith, Christine Jeske, D. A. Horton, Kyuboem Lee, Marshall Shelley, Matt Mikalatos, Sean Gladding, Catherine McNiel, and Lee Eclov each contributed a chapter. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Would a good God allow some people to be lost to hell due to the bad luck of their circumstances (such as never hearing the Christian gospel)? Do some who are lost “slip through the cracks” (i.e., they would have freely chosen to be saved if only God had placed them into different circumstances)? After surveying and responding to other significant objections within the so-called “soteriological problem of evil,” this groundbreaking new work identifies the above as the most difficult soteriological challenge for Christian theism and explores it in great depth. Finding William Lane Craig’s famous solution to this problem insightful but ultimately inadequate, the book proposes an alternative solution that upholds Christian exclusivism (the view that one must hear and respond to the gospel to be saved) and is both biblically consistent and philosophically plausible. It offers an intriguing possibility for how God might ensure that all people have an opportunity to be saved and that none who are lost slip through the cracks in a way that is inconsistent with God’s goodness. Additionally, the book reveals how its response to this soteriological problem has much value for addressing key aspects of the broader problem of evil.

References to important names, dates, and historical events have been found encoded in the book of Genesis. No individual could have known this informationfrom what grew in the garden of Eden to details of the Gulf War. Mystics and sages have long held that these codes existed, proving God's direct hand in all that was and is to be. Incredible? Yes. But some of today's greatest scientific minds have been unable as yet to disprove the codes. If the codes are genuine, they will forever change our view of God, faith, and our fate. Cracking the Bible Code explores the extraordinary possibilities and the furor surrounding the codes in a riveting story that is equal parts holy quest, Byzantine intrigue, and cutting-edge science.
