Book excerpt: Many books have been written on conservative politics. Many more have been written calling Christians to holiness and spiritual revival. Few, however, have managed to combine a clear explanation of the conservative political perspective with its corresponding personal and spiritual virtue. In INDIVISIBLE, James Robison, the founder and president of LIFE Outreach International, partners with Jay Richards, Ph.D., a writer who has appeared in both the New York Times and The Washington Post. Together, they tackle tough, controversial political issues facing conservative Christians today, including abortion, stem cell research, education, economics, health care, the environment, judicial activism, marriage, and others. Written to appeal to a broad spectrum of believers, INDIVISIBLE not only argues political questions from a Scriptural standpoint, it also provides simple arguments that Christians can use to support their beliefs in public settings. Most significantly, Robison and Richards recognize that the point of origin for spiritual and moral transformation is the individual. "We are convinced by historical precedent that long term cultural change requires not merely sound thinking and public good works but rather, God's spiritual and moral transformation of us as individuals, which will then transform our churches, our communities, our culture, and ultimately our politics." James Robison is the founder and president of LIFE Outreach International, a worldwide Christian relief organization. He is also the host of LIFE Today, a daily syndicated television program that reaches 300 million homes in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia. He is the author of many books, including The Absolutes, True Prosperity, and Living in Love, and has spoken to millions of people through evangelistic crusades since entering public ministry in 1962. Jay W. Richards, Ph.D., is a Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute and the author of many books, including the award-winning Money, Greed, and God and The Privileged Planet. He is the executive director of the documentaries The Call of the Entrepreneur and The Birth of Freedom. He has been featured in the New York Times and the Washington Post and has appeared on Larry King Live. He has also lectured on economic myths to members of the U.S. Congress.

We shall not fail--if we stand firm, we shall not fail. Wise counsels may accelerate, or mistakes delay it, but, sooner or later, the victory is sure to come" (Abraham Lincoln). The victory is sure to come because we are indivisible as a nation, as churches, as people, as families. Not due to our own strength but rather in the strength of our Lord Jesus Christ. *** Whoever first said it is not about you did not see things as I see them. It is about me, it is all about me. Personal responsibility is mine; and most of what I am, who I am, and who I will be in the future is about me. The choices I make are mine. When I fall on my face, I have to get back up. When I reach the top of the mountain, it is because I took the first step. This is not to say that others were not there helping (or in some cases hindering); but to have an indivisible spirit, we must be first willing to accept personal responsibility for both the good and bad in our lives. What does it take to live indivisible? Those who over the years have pledged to give their all for life, liberty, and freedom know exactly what it takes to live indivisible. Found in the pages of this book are the stories that have helped me to discover how to live indivisible. It is my hope that you are entertained as you read the stories of a boy growing up in West Texas, but more important that you come to realize the key to living indivisible yourself.

Book excerpt: Brynn's utopia is shattered when she learns her life has been a lie constructed by the very government she's trusted to make her decisions for her. What's worse is learning she's the next target on their kill list. She knows to survive, she has to remove the one thing that gives her substance, security and transport, the one thing the Alliance relies on to track each Citizen of One United. Once removed, she must run to save her life - with a boy she barely knows, a boy who holds her future and heart in his hands. Now Brynn and T are truly on their own ... against the power of One United. A Note From the Author: inDIVISIBLE began as a disturbing dream in which the government had taken control of our lives on even the most basic level. As I saw the story unfold, it was almost as if the government spoke within my head, directing me in every aspect of life, invading my personal thoughts and dreams. Honestly, it freaked me out a bit. I like my freedom. I like to do things spur of the moment, and living under this type of order and scrutiny was a horrifying and yet somehow realistic idea. As the idea and the feelings of loss consumed me, I began writing the story of Brynn and her realization that her freedom had been stolen without ever realizing it consciously. Since writing the book I've had many people ask me how I did the research to write it. I didn't. That's just it. I didn't research. I left the story up to my heart. Of course, the little things I've noticed in my life and the lives of my children fed into the story to contribute to an invasive future where no one is safe to pursue their own creativity, own thought process and own identity. Probably the biggest contributor to this element of the novel is an experience I had with my daughters at a local public school when I questioned the principal about special programs for my girls who were bored and wanted a challenge. She stated, "Children at E-- Elementary are not allowed to excel." Yes, that's a direct quote. We pulled our children out of that school that day and they never returned. The introduction of tablets at my girls' new school fed into the story along with news reports I saw of principals spying on their students and schools instituting palm-scanning before children can eat lunch at school. I know I'm not alone in the belief that we are not machines. We are not property of any government entity. And yet, if we don't stand up for what we believe, what then? I guess deep down, inDIVISIBLE is my answer to that question. "I truly was captivated from beginning to the very end. The way you describe each detail as the story unfolds creates such vivid images in my mind." J. Hayes, Editor "Just so you know you made me cry, that is how much I was into your book!" J. Jones "I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very smart! I love stores that have clever plots and characters I can root for." A. Easton, Book Reviewer "inDIVISIBLE was inspiring, and taught me the true meaning of freedom and the lengths people will go to in order to achieve it." D. Fox, Book Reviewer inDIVISIBLE has been nominated for the Whitney Award for novels written in the year 2012. Winners will be announced in the spring of 2013. The first in a three book One United Series, book two will be released in the spring of 2013. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This national bestseller is not only the guiding “centerpiece of a robust new grassroots machinery” (Rolling Stone), it is the story of democracy under threat. It’s the story of a movement rising up to respond. And it’s a story of what comes next. Shortly after Trump’s 2016 election, two outraged former congressional staffers wrote and posted a tactical guide to resisting the Trump agenda. This Google Doc entitled “Indivisible” was meant to be read by friends and family. No one could have predicted what happened next. It went viral, sparking the creation of thousands of local Indivisible groups in red, blue, and purple states, mobilizing millions of people who had never engaged in politics before. Between one and two million were inspired—they canvassed, caravanned, shouted back, and ran for office. Proof of concept: A blue 116th House of Representatives. In We Are Indivisible: A Blueprint for Democracy After Trump, the directors of Indivisible tell the story of the movement. They offer a behind-the-scenes look at how change comes to Washington, whether Washington wants it or not. And they explain how we’ll win the coming fight for the future of American democracy. We Are Indivisible isn’t a book of platitudes about hope; it’s a steely-eyed guide to people power—how to find it, how to build it, and how to use it to save our country. *All proceeds to the author go to Indivisible’s Save Democracy Fund

Mateo Garcia and his younger sister, Sophie, have been taught to fear one word for as long as they can remember: deportation. Over the past few years, however, the fear that their undocumented immigrant parents could be sent back to Mexico started to fade. Ma and Pa have been in the United States for so long, they have American-born children, and they're hard workers and good neighbors. When Mateo returns from school one day to find that his parents have been taken by ICE, he realizes that his family's worst nightmare has become a reality. With his parents' fate and his own future hanging in the balance, Mateo must figure out who he is and what he is capable of, even as he's forced to question what it means to be an American. Daniel Aleman's Indivisible is a remarkable story—both powerful in its explorations of immigration in America and deeply intimate in its portrait of a teen boy driven by his fierce, protective love for his parents and his sister.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Five freshly decapitated human heads are thrown onto a crowded dance floor in western Mexico. A Mexican drug cartel dismembers the body of a rival and then stitches his face onto a soccer ball. These are the sorts of grisly tales that dominate the media, infiltrate movies and TV shows, and ultimately shape Americans' perception of Mexico as a dangerous and scary place, overrun by brutal drug lords. Without a doubt, the drug war is real. In the last six years, over 60,000 people have been murdered in narco-related crimes. But, there is far more to Mexico's story than this gruesome narrative would suggest. While thugs have been grabbing the headlines, Mexico has undergone an unprecedented and under-publicized political, economic, and social transformation. In her groundbreaking book, Two Nations Indivisible, Shannon K. O'Neil argues that the United States is making a grave mistake by focusing on the politics of antagonism toward Mexico. Rather, we should wake up to the revolution of prosperity now unfolding there. The news that isn't being reported is that, over the last decade, Mexico has become a real democracy, providing its citizens a greater voice and opportunities to succeed on their own side of the border. Armed with higher levels of education, upwardly-mobile men and women have been working their way out of poverty, building the largest, most stable middle class in Mexico's history. This is the Mexico Americans need to get to know. Now more than ever, the two countries are indivisible. It is past time for the U.S. to forge a new relationship with its southern neighbor. Because in no uncertain terms, our future depends on it.

Book excerpt: After serving just three years, the President of the United States succumbed to cancer. His Vice-President held office for only a week before Iran detonated a nuclear device in Israel killing twelve-thousand instantly and injuring tens of thousands more. Shortly after the attack, the new president collapsed, incapacitated by a massive stroke. His newly installed Vice-President, Jeremy Collins, the former governor of Connecticut, took the oath of office to become the third president of the United States in a month. As the elections approached; the front running Democratic candidates for president and vice-president were killed in a plane crash. This threw the elections just a couple of days away into chaos. The United States elections that year were the most tumultuous in history. The US economy was in shambles. Unemployment in parts of the country was over 20% with an official national rate of over 15%. The politicians in Washington had been relentless in stripping away the constitutional rights of its citizens and states under the guise of protection of the people.President Collins, keenly aware and reminded at every opportunity that he was not elected and nobody's real choice for the office, took the unprecedented and unconstitutional action of suspending the presidential elections until the following February. This just one of many activities out of Washington which triggered fourteen state governors to announce they were removing themselves from the United States of America and would defend their borders.Aaron Shear, a corn farmer in northwest Oklahoma, had been brought into a group of businessmen, politicians, and military officers to plan and execute the secession of the fourteen states in the center of the country. Over the summer, Aaron had traveled the Midwest doing whatever had to be done to get politicians elected or removed to support the secession when the time came. The group, particularly his friend Mark Daniels, had become targets of a ruthless enemy in Washington. So vicious, in fact, that Aaron's neighbor and son had been killed in an attack meant to murder his wife. Instead of the attack delivering the message their enemy wanted, it galvanized Aaron, Mark, and the rest of the group into seeing the plan through. The states seized all military and other federal assets as their own, claiming to have "bought and paid for" those assets over the many years of being a part of the United States. The governors took command of the individual state guard units and prepared to defend their borders, promising to aid each other in defense of their fellow seceded states by forming a new nation, The Independent Coalition of Central States.

Book excerpt: "Essential reading for anyone who wants to understand history – and then go out and change it." –President Barack Obama Nelson Mandela was one of the great moral and political leaders of his time: an international hero whose lifelong dedication to the fight against racial oppression in South Africa won him the Nobel Peace Prize and the presidency of his country. After his triumphant release in 1990 from more than a quarter-century of imprisonment, Mandela was at the center of the most compelling and inspiring political drama in the world. As president of the African National Congress and head of South Africa's antiapartheid movement, he was instrumental in moving the nation toward multiracial government and majority rule. He is still revered everywhere as a vital force in the fight for human rights and racial equality. Long Walk to Freedom is his moving and exhilarating autobiography, destined to take its place among the finest memoirs of history's greatest figures. Here for the first time, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela told the extraordinary story of his life -- an epic of struggle, setback, renewed hope, and ultimate triumph. The book that inspired the major motion picture Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
