Book excerpt: Today's culture has distorted the way we women view our bodies. We are hyper-critical, obsessed with weight loss, and distracted by the countless advertisements we see to eat, exercise, and dress differently. But God does not call you to be thinner or to follow a perfectly clean diet plan. Rather, God longs for you to embrace your body, eat with freedom, and live with a deep sense of confidence that you (and your body) are loved exactly as you are. In Fulfilled, nutrition expert Alexandra MacKillop explores physical, mental, and spiritual health through a non-diet lens, encouraging you to respect your body, honor your hunger, and embrace the unique size and shape that God created for you. Fulfilled provides tangible steps toward changing your beliefs about food and your body. After examining the ways dieting harms a person's physical and spiritual health, the book lays out a more intuitive framework for eating that emphasizes mindfulness, satisfaction, and surrender. As you learn to embrace your body, you'll be set free from the fear of losing control. As you grow in your understanding of God's love for you and your natural shape, you'll be released from the shame of not conforming to a certain physical type. As you develop your knowledge of intuitive eating, you'll realize that you can love and eat foods of all types. With Alexandra as your guide, you'll learn how to enjoy food without sabotaging your fitness goals, honor the unique body God created for you, and live out a life of love and freedom--all under the umbrella of grace.

Book excerpt: Are you living the life you thought you always wanted but feel that something is still missing? Do you think you should be happier than you are, considering all that you have? Have you achieved your professional or personal goals but still feel racked with insecurities, anxiety, or depression . . . and can't figure out why? Psychiatrist Anna Yusim knows just how you feel. Not only has she struggled with these feelings herself, but she has also worked with patients upon patients who have expressed the same bewildering concern: they have everything they've always wanted, and yet deep down they don't feel fulfilled. Determined to help herself and her patients, Dr. Yusim spent more than fifteen years studying and conducting research and came to a startling conclusion: this lingering feeling of dissatisfaction coincides with spiritual neglect. Once she helped her patients address their spiritual and psychological needs, she saw radical improvements in their happiness levels and quality of life. Now science is catching up with her innovative approach to therapy as groundbreaking medical research and studies substantiate what Dr. Yusim and many others have suspected for years: spirituality is a powerful path to healing. Drawing from the best in Western medicine, as well as teachings from Kabbalah, Buddhism, and shamanistic traditions, Dr. Yusim has developed a program that marries empirical science and spirituality to help you: Discover your life's true purpose Eliminate self-defeating patterns and roadblocks that are keeping you from living your most authentic life Understand the scientific underpinnings behind "answered prayers" and "random coincidences"-and why having faith in them can change your outlook for the better Appreciate how consciousness shapes your reality and how to harness this understanding to live a life of abundance. Filled with exercises, guided meditations, fascinating scientific research, and inspiring success stories, Fulfilled integrates the best of Western medicine with universal spiritual principles to help you find more meaning, more joy, and more fulfillment in your life.

Book excerpt: Leadership can be mentally, emotionally, and spiritually exhausting. The pace is relentless. The expectations are weighty. The challenges are daunting. But it is possible to live and lead a new way, with that deep sense of contentment that all leaders yearn for. It is possible to be fulfilled, even today. Fulfilled articulates a new approach for the exhausted leader. This Christian theology of leadership is based on three inner capacities, which every leader already possesses but which most of us simply ignore or disregard: the capacity for stillness, awareness, and playfulness. The author examines these capacities and shows the reader how draw upon them in daily life. Vibrant leadership taps into this wellspring of inner capacities, continually available to every leader. It is not the exclusive possession of the gifted, faithful few, but is a grace provided for all. The fulfilled leader lives in wisdom, peace and joy, and is successful in all the most important ways.

Book excerpt: Based on the eponymous symposium and exhibition, Fulfilled: Architecture, Excess, and Desire considers the role of architecture in a culture shaped by the excessive manufacturing and assuagement of desire. Until the term became synonymous with Amazon warehouses, the concept of fulfillment described the achievement of a desire--sometimes tangible, often psychological or spiritual. With the rapid growth of e-commerce, our understanding of fulfillment has evolved to reflect a seemingly endless cycle of desire and gratification--one whose continuity hinges on our willingness to overlook the cultural, economic, and environmental impacts of our ever-increasing expectation of quick and efficient fulfillment. A closer look at fulfillment reveals a social, typological, formal, aesthetic, and economic practice constructed collectively through both digital and physical interactions. It is a cultural practice which evolves like a language, both universally transferable and contextually specific. As a symposium, exhibition, and now publication, this project aims to draw out these new arrangements, sticky relationships, and material byproducts of cultural production and to ask again the age-old question, "What does it mean to be fulfilled?" This book examines the architecture of fulfillment through three lenses: logistical, material, and cultural fulfillment. Each reveals the new forms of architectural practice and research that are possible, typical, and even surreptitiously encouraged in the age of Amazon. Fulfillment networks are not invisible systems; they are tangible objects--warehouses, suburban houses, parking lots, cardboard boxes, shopping malls, mechanical systems, shipping containers--with which architects necessarily interact. From political mapping and questions of labor to digital and physical storage typologies, contemporary architects learn from and work critically within the architecture of fulfillment. Their interests and approaches include the material and environmental shortcomings of global logistics and the formal, representational, and cultural potentials of a culture of excess. This book highlights architecture's unique capacity to offer methodologies for confronting an increasingly ambiguous, alienating world and produce new knowledge and unexpected solutions that go beyond the dichotomies of rural and urban territories.

Book excerpt: This book is dedicated to your mastery of the art of realizing all your desires. The greatest gift you have been given is the gift of your imagination. Everything that now exists was once imagined. And everything that will ever exist must first be imagined. Wishes Fulfilled is designed to take you on a voyage of discovery, wherein you can begin to tap into the amazing manifesting powers that you possess within you and create a life in which all that you imagine for yourself becomes a present fact. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explores, for the first time, the region of your highest self; and definitively shows you how you can truly change your concept of yourself, embark upon a God-realized way of living, and fulfill the spiritual truth that with God all things are possible —and "all things" means that nothing is left out. By practicing the specific technique for retraining your subconscious mind, you are encouraged to not only place into your imagination what you would like to manifest for yourself, but you are given the specifics for realigning your life so you can live out your highest calling and stay connected to your Source of being. From the lofty perspective of your highest self, you will learn how to train your imagination in a new way. Your wishes —all of them —can indeed be fulfilled. By using your imagination and practicing the art of assuming the feeling of your wishes being fulfilled, and steadfastly refusing to allow any evidence of the outer world to distract you from your intentions, you will discover that you, by virtue of your spiritual awareness, possess the ability to become the person you were destined to be. This book will help you See —with a capital S —that you are divine, and that you already possess an inner, invisible higher self that can and will guide you toward a mastery of the art of manifestation. You can attain this mastery through deliberate conscious control of your imagination!

Book excerpt: A blueprint for how parents can stop worrying about their children’s future and start helping them prepare for it, from the cofounder and CEO of one of America’s most innovative public-school networks “A treasure trove of deeply practical wisdom that accords with everything I know about how children thrive.”—Angela Duckworth, New York Times bestselling author of Grit In 2003, Diane Tavenner cofounded the first school in what would soon become one of America’s most innovative public-school networks. Summit Public Schools has since won national recognition for its exceptional outcomes: Ninety-nine percent of students are accepted to a four-year college, and they graduate from college at twice the national average. But in a radical departure from the environments created by the college admissions arms race, Summit students aren’t focused on competing with their classmates for rankings or test scores. Instead, students spend their days solving real-world problems and developing the skills of self-direction, collaboration, and reflection, all of which prepare them to succeed in college, thrive in today’s workplace, and lead a secure and fulfilled life. Through personal stories and hard-earned lessons from Summit’s exceptional team of educators and diverse students, Tavenner shares the learning philosophies underlying the Summit model and offers a blueprint for any parent who wants to stop worrying about their children’s future—and start helping them prepare for it. At a time when many students are struggling to regain educational and developmental ground lost to the disruptions of the pandemic, Prepared is more urgent and necessary than ever.

Book excerpt: Throughout the night I cried to the Lord with tears of brokenness that flooded my pillow, and pleaded with him: Why have you forsaken me, O Lord? How long do I have to live like this? I cant take it anymore! I have prayed for so long! Did you forget about me? Please, help me! These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. (Isaiah 42:16) I will not forget youI have inscribed you on the palms of my hands. (Isaiah 49:16) He is my shepherd, and he shall fulfill all my purpose. (Isaiah 44:28 ESV) Kady is to be commended for sharing her life with others. Her book, Forsaken to Fulfilled, is well documented with Gods Word and demonstrates how he will help in time of need. When she set her eyes on Gods Word, she found victory, healing, and fulfillment as a woman. In this world, we need more courageous individuals like Kady to stand up and be a voice for the vulnerable and hurting. This book should be read by every couple. Pastor C.J.

Book excerpt: God's Revealed Words to Be Fulfilled By: Larry James Hostetter The following pages are the words that the Holy Spirit has provided to author, Larry James Hostetter, through tongues and interpretation of tongues to speak out over the last twenty-some years. Some of them came in prayer meetings, some in church services, and some in the middle of the night. He has carried these words around in his Bible and prayed over them for all these years. Now he feels the Lord has said that he is to share them with the world, so that you, the reader, can know the reality of God and pray over these words, too, one each day of the month and the following months.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About 80 participants from 16 countries attended the Conference on Numerical Methods for Free Boundary Problems, held at the University of Jyviiskylii, Finland, July 23-27, 1990. The main purpose of this conference was to provide up-to-date information on important directions of research in the field of free boundary problems and their numerical solutions. The contributions contained in this volume cover the lectures given in the conference. The invited lectures were given by H.W. Alt, V. Barbu, K-H. Hoffmann, H. Mittelmann and V. Rivkind. In his lecture H.W. Alt considered a mathematical model and existence theory for non-isothermal phase separations in binary systems. The lecture of V. Barbu was on the approximate solvability of the inverse one phase Stefan problem. K-H. Hoff mann gave an up-to-date survey of several directions in free boundary problems and listed several applications, but the material of his lecture is not included in this proceedings. H.D. Mittelmann handled the stability of thermo capillary convection in float-zone crystal growth. V. Rivkind considered numerical methods for solving coupled Navier-Stokes and Stefan equations. Besides of those invited lectures mentioned above there were 37 contributed papers presented. We shall briefly outline the topics of the contributed papers: Stefan like problems. Modelling, existence and uniqueness.
