Book Synopsis The Case for Election The Original Doctrine of Predestination, Presented by the Apostles by : Marc A. Carr
Download or read book The Case for Election The Original Doctrine of Predestination, Presented by the Apostles written by Marc A. Carr and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about how the Christian actually became a Christian. The 'process' is Marc's focus. How does God take the Chosen from the womb to salvation then into His eternal bosom? The classic position of Election and Predestination is made plain; forcing the reader to address the alternative, Man's free-will choice to be 'saved' or not. Can these two positions be reconciled? No, not really. The Lord assured Moses: I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion, Exodus 33:19. Moses was to experience a limited 'theophany, ' what the Greek Orthodox call a 'theosis, ' the physical presence of God, Himself, equivalent to - 'My goodness.' It is God's very 'Goodness' the New Testament saint knows to be the indwelt Holy Spirit, the very Spirit of Christ Jesus, Himself, God Himself. Paul cites the Exodus passage in Romans to demonstrate to the body of Christ that God by His sovereignty elected each believer to be His own, that we did not elect ourselves to be God's. And one Saint asked, "Why write about such things that have been covered for hundreds of years?" True. But more recently much about God's sovereignty has been covered over. Christian modernity has adapted as the author once did to a new Evangelicalism. Whereby, some first truths have been buried so deep that when they are unearthed they appear to be a foreign theology to the present generation of Evangelical believers. Marc affords the saint the information necessary to actually understand how he or she actually got saved! Marc presently lives in Orlando Florida where he pastors Blessed Fellowship Orlando, an outreach ministry of Orlando Prayer and Worship Center, Senior Pastor Roy Futch.

Book Synopsis Sound Doctrine by : Torben Sondergaard
Download or read book Sound Doctrine written by Torben Sondergaard and published by . This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to the Bible, sound doctrine creates true fear of the Lord. If this fear of the Lord is missing in our churches, as it seems to be, it must be a sign that we do not preach the true Word of God and sound doctrine. Teaching sound doctrine should cause us to see a need to surrender everything to God and to live in the light. There is no darkness, no sin, when we are walking in the light ( 1 John 1:7). True godliness and holiness is required to walk with God. In this prophetic word to the Church, Torben brings us back to the Bible where sound doctrine is found, including how to address sin in the church and in the individual. Has the church been teaching sound doctrine? Has it become soft on sin? Can the church expect its prayers to be answered if there is sin in the camp? Is the church accursed because it has allowed sin to thrive unchallenged? Can a person truly be born again and continue in conscious sin? Have we been teaching a grace that tramples the blood of Jesus? These are serious questions that must be addressed if we expect God to hear our prayers. His word to the church: REPENT!
Book Synopsis The Land Is Not Empty by : Sarah Augustine
Download or read book The Land Is Not Empty written by Sarah Augustine and published by MennoMedia, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-06-22 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: White settlers saw land for the taking. They failed to consider the perspective of the people already here. In The Land Is Not Empty, author Sarah Augustine unpacks the harm of the Doctrine of Discovery—a set of laws rooted in the fifteenth century that gave Christian governments the moral and legal right to seize lands they “discovered” despite those lands already being populated by indigenous peoples. Legitimized by the church and justified by a misreading of Scripture, the Doctrine of Discovery says a land can be considered “empty” and therefore free for the taking if inhabited by “heathens, pagans, and infidels.” In this prophetic book, Augustine, a Pueblo woman, reframes the colonization of North America as she investigates ways that the Doctrine of Discovery continues to devastate indigenous cultures, and even the planet itself, as it justifies exploitation of both natural resources and people. This is a powerful call to reckon with the root causes of a legacy that continues to have devastating effects on indigenous peoples around the globe and a call to recognize how all of our lives and our choices are interwoven. What was done in the name of Christ must be undone in the name of Christ, the author claims. The good news of Jesus means there is still hope for the righting of wrongs. Right relationship with God, others, and the earth requires no less.
Download or read book Free Will written by Richard K Smith and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-09-30 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to Hebrews 3:12 The ultimate failure of the "evil, unbelieving heart" is that one "falls away from the living God." The Greek word for "falls away" in the Greek is "apostaynai" which could also be translated "defect, revolt, forsake and apostasize". This Greek word is the word from which we get the word "apostasy" in English. This is clearly a case of someone who completely walks away from a relationship with Christ. This happens to be the only place this word is used in Hebrews. As long as any believer lives, they can come to Christ and they can go away from Christ. It is dependent upon a decision of the free will as to where one places and maintains their affection.
