Book excerpt: Norman Jespers-Vilnius is just an average eleven-year-old kid–until he absentmindedly nibbles on the edge of a page and wakes up inside his favourite book, the Undergrowth Series. Norman finds himself smack in the middle of an epic battle of animal kingdoms, where he forms a close friendship with young Malcolm, a future king. After joining Malcolm’s fight he winds up back in his own bed, dirty and in torn pyjamas. But his adventures have only just started. It soon becomes clear that Norman has been caught by a mystifying force called “Bookweird”– Norman finds himself inside books his family is reading, mixing up plotlines. When he tries to undo an act of violence in his sister’s horse novel, he has to explain the appearance of a pony to some disgruntled policemen at a crime scene in his mother’s favourite thriller. Can Norman put all of the stories back on track and return these fictional worlds to normal? Or will Bookweird trap him in the pages forever? Award-winning author Paul Glennon has created a breathtaking, fast-paced story for adventurers of all ages.

Norman Jespers-Vilnius is stuck in the sleepy British countryside with his parents and ultra-irritating sister. Things couldn't be duller — until Norman finds himself in the middle of the adventure story he discovered in the house's dusty library. Soon Norman is making strange new allies and stranger new enemies as struggles to rescue his best friend Malcolm the Prince of Stoats from another book gone wrong. Can Norman save Malcolm and steer the novel back on track? Can he hide his adventures in bookweird from his suspicious mother and the meddlesome Fuchs? Before we find out, we follow Norman on a chilling trip to 19th-century Paris, a fiery medieval adventure and, finally, a mission to discover the family secret at the heart of bookweird.

Book excerpt: "Sophisticated with just the right dose of sinister, this coming-of-age story doesn’t shy from the grisly power dynamics of privilege." ––Library Journal When it comes to seeing the future—do you really want to know? Middle-class Rosie Macalister has worked for years to fit in with her wealthy friends on the Yale equestrian team. But when she comes back from her junior year abroad with newfound confidence, she finds that the group has been infiltrated by a mysterious intruder: Annelise Tattinger. A talented tarot reader and a brilliant rider, the enigmatic Annelise is unlike anyone Rosie has ever met. But when one of their friends notices money disappearing from her bank account, Annelise's place in the circle is thrown into question. As the girls turn against each other, the group’s unspoken tensions and assumptions lead to devastating consequences. It's only after graduation, when Rosie begins a job at a Manhattan hedge fund, that she uncovers Annelise's true identity––and how her place in their elite Yale set was no accident. Is it too late for Rosie to put right what went wrong, or does everyone's luck run out at some point? Set in the heady days of the early aughts, The Fortune Seller is a haunting examination of class, ambition, and the desires that shape our lives.

Pirate, convict, and runaway bond servant, Kincaid is just the man Lady Elizabeth Lacy Bennett has been searching for. Now he's found, and as far as Bess is concerned, hanging is too easy an escape for the scoundrel who stole her beloved horse--and dared to repay her with a searing kiss. For despite his crimes, Kincaid is a valuable worker--worth every penny she has paid for his indenture--and the ideal guide to help find a lost treasure that could save her Maryland plantation from ruin. She may be mad to trust the charismatic Scotsman, for it's clear he desires more from her than freedom, but Bess was raised to finish what she starts, and to follow her heart--even if she may lose it. . . Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mares, Foals & Ferraris is a rather convoluted and hilarious tale of one man's quest to quit driving a school bus and become some sort of farmer. Like most quests, this one went a little sideways. Instead of turnips, he got racehorses. But underneath this story is another: a child trying to grow up in a violent world, a young adult trapped between a reluctant acceptance of what is and the seemingly desperate pursuit of the elusive what if. And most importantly, the endless conflicts, both political and personal that wander through each ensuing generation - the restless ghosts of the what was. Two puzzling questions the book may finally answer: why do some children run away to live with animals, and, on the more capricious side of life's mysteries: why do some people breed racehorses when they could just as easily afford a Ferrari? Maybe two. A. Allan Juell has been writing about horses and the people...well, those folks that tend to hang around with large hairy mammals for roughly thirty years. His work has appeared in periodicals such as Washington Thoroughbred, EQUUS, Chronicle of the Horse, Western Horseman, Thoroughbred Times, Anvil Magazine and others, both regional and international. He picked up a few obscure literary awards along the way, as well as copious amounts of 'enlightened' criticism. He spent his first thirty years working as a farrier and farm manager and about fifteen years as an itinerant journalist, wandering most of the world's habitable continents and questionable bars. He holds a degree in history and sometimes attempts to further confuse the world's problems at Histryonics.com. His early years were spent in the urban rainforests of Seattle, though currently he hangs out in Redwood City, California. And yeah, he still drives a bus from time to time.
