Why does Partycrasher, dark avenger of the night, give his sidekick (also codenamed "Partycrasher") the beating of a lifetime? Could it be the cowled crusader has fallen under the influence of sexy reformed bad girl Linda Loveblind, aka Partygirl? Or has the sidekick truly committed a heinous crime for which there can be no forgiveness? Maybe the answer is none of the above. A much deeper and darker delusion might be dominating the shadowy super-knight's mind. His sidekick begs for mercy and fights to break through before it's too late...but he's quickly running out of time. With each passing moment and punishing blow, the attack looks more like a murder in the making. Don't miss this exciting tale by award-winning storyteller and DC Comics writer Robert T. Book Synopsis Troubled Partnership by : Mark A. Lorell
Download or read book Troubled Partnership written by Mark A. Lorell and published by Transaction Publishers. This book was released on 1996-01-01 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During World War II, Japanese fighters, such as the famed Zero, were among the most respected and feared combat aircraft in the world. But for decades following the defeat of Japan in 1945, a variety of political and economic factors prevented Japan from developing its own modern national fighter. This changed in the 1980s. Japan began independently developing its first world-class fighter since World War II. After several years of contentious negotiations, the Japanese agreed to work with the United States to cooperatively develop a minimally modified F-16, the FS-X. The new fighter, however, has evolved into a world-class aircraft developed largely by Japanese industry primarily due to errors committed by the U.S. side. By the fall of 1995, fifty years after the end of World War II, the Zero for the 1990s will have made its first flight, catapulting Japan into the elite ranks of nations capable of developing the most advanced weapon systems. In "Troubled Partnership, "Mark Lorell traces the evolution of the FS-X, disclosing the conflicting economic and security objectives advanced by U.S. officials, the flawed U.S. policy of technology reciprocity, and the challenges of international collaboration. Its deep intimacy with the interplay of policy and economy will make this volume of intense interest to political scientists, military studies specialists, historians, and government officials.

Book excerpt: What is the nature of the firm? Why do firms adopt certain strategies in preference to others? What are the competitive implications of large firm mergers and alliances for government policy? Book Synopsis Partnership, Collaborative Planning and Urban Regeneration by : John McCarthy
Download or read book Partnership, Collaborative Planning and Urban Regeneration written by John McCarthy and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-05-13 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Approaches to urban regeneration have changed dramatically throughout Europe and the USA over recent decades, drawing on notions of public-private partnership, growth coalitions and local spatial alliances. In this engaging book John McCarthy provides critical consideration of such theories in terms of their application to practice. He shows how these notions are used to explain the nature and underlying processes of urban development and to further objectives for urban regeneration. To test their applicability, he examines the case of Dundee, including the role of the Dundee Partnership, a model for many aspects of partnership working. The resulting conclusions suggest ways in which the practice of urban regeneration can be improved in terms of inclusion, equity and sustainability.

Book Synopsis Re-conceiving Property Rights in the New Millennium by : Ben Chigara
Download or read book Re-conceiving Property Rights in the New Millennium written by Ben Chigara and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-03-01 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book constitutes volume two of a two volume examination of development community land issues in Southern Africa. Following from volume one Southern African Development Community Land Issues, this book considers the possibility of a new, sustainable land relations policy for Southern African Development Community States (SADC) that are currently mired up in land disputes that have become subject of domestic, regional and international tribunals. Chigara demonstrates that land relations in the SADC have always been, and will perhaps remain, a matter for constitutional regulation. Because constitutional laws are distinctive from other laws only by constitutional design, legal contests appear to be the least likely means for settlement in the sub-region. Only human rights inspired policies, that respond to the call for social justice by acknowledging both the current and the underlying contexts to the disputes, hold the most potential to resolve these disputes. The book recommends efficient pedagogical counter-apartheid-rule psychological distortions regarding the significance of human dignity (PECAPDISH) as a pre-requisite and corollary to the dismantling of the salient physical legacy of apartheid-rule in affected SADC States. The book shows that PECAPDISH’s potential and benefits would be enormous. The book will be of interest to students and researchers of Property and Conveyancing Law, Human Rights Law, and Land Law.

Download or read book Stasi written by John Christian Schmeidel and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2007-09-12 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a fascinating new examination of one of the most feared and efficient secret services the world has ever known, the Stasi. The East German Stasi was a jewel among the communist secret services, the most trusted by its Russian mother organization the KGB, and even more efficient. In its attempt at ‘total coverage’ of civil society, the Ministry for State Security came close to realizing the totalitarian ideal of a political police force. Based on research in archival files unlocked just after the fall of the Berlin Wall and available to few German and Western readers, this volume details the Communist Party’s attempt to control all aspects of East German civil society, and sets out what is known of the regime’s support for international terrorism in the 1970s and 1980s. STASI will be of much interest to students of intelligence studies, German politics and international relations.
