This book was released on 2016-08 with total page 387 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The polarity principle is the core foundation for this book. This polarity principle is best explained and visualized as a teeter-totter. A polarity has two opposing but related extremes with a gradient between them. When the gradient is off-balance, emphasizing one extreme over the other, it can create a more dynamic visual experience. It could also be explained as two equally strong forces engaged in a tug of war, with one side exerting more pull. This relationship of the elements can exert forces upon one another, attracting and repelling each other, creating tension. With design aesthetics, this opposition and resolution is not actual but perceived visually. The tension and energy between forces already exist in the natural world: light-dark, love-fear, small-large and so on. Shifting the teeter-totter from one extreme to the other, called a polarity shift, creating emphasis on one side of the gradient.
