I believe there is a great need in the whole world for the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran to be written in English. Currently, there is a great misunderstanding about Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims globally. The misunderstanding of the meaning of the Holy Quran among Muslims will lead to the wrong practice of Islam which leads to the wrong actions of Muslims. The wrong actions of Muslims will lead to misunderstandings about Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims. The wrong actions of the Muslims have led to many miseries and wars among Muslims. The wrong actions of Muslims have also led to many wars and clashes between Muslims and non-Muslims. In order to avoid miseries, wars and clashes from taking place between the whole mankind in the whole world, the whole mankind in the whole world need to understand the true teaching of Islam. There is no other way for the whole mankind to understand the true teaching of Islam unless the whole mankind is able to read and understand the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran. The whole mankind is only able to read and understand the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran when it is written in the universal language of the world (English). For this very reason I have written the interpretation of the Holy Quran in English. Prof. Nasoha Bin Saabin
Book Synopsis Ibn Taymiyyah on Jihād and Baghy (Penerbit USM) by : Mohd Farid Mohd Sharif
Download or read book Ibn Taymiyyah on Jihād and Baghy (Penerbit USM) written by Mohd Farid Mohd Sharif and published by Penerbit USM. This book was released on 2011 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ibn Taymiyyah is one of the best-known figures of medieval Islam. He has also been seen as the initiator of the idea of reformation in the Muslim world in the 13th century. His views on many social problems of his age reflect a pragmatic orientation, and in consequence his impact on succeeding generations has been profound. Though there are some studies of Ibn Taymiyyah’s life and works, they have failed to focus adequately on his jihād and baghy concepts and theories. Therefore, this book aims to: • contribute to the study of early Islamic political thought • consider how the terms jihād and baghy have developed and been expanded from the structure established by the Qur’an and hadith • examine the relationship between jihād and baghy in Islamic law • reveal the pivotal role of the imām in politics • explain why Ibn Taymiyyah upheld jihād against the Mongols, the Franks and the heretic Shi‘ah Referring to all those discussions, this book undoubtedly is an essential text for those who are interested in understanding the relationship between Ibn Taymiyyah’s concepts of jihād and baghy. Book Synopsis An Islamic Philosophy of Virtuous Religions by : Joshua Parens
Download or read book An Islamic Philosophy of Virtuous Religions written by Joshua Parens and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2012-02-01 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Joshua Parens provides an introduction to the thought of Alfarabi, a tenth-century Muslim political philosopher whose writings are particularly relevant today. Parens focuses on Alfarabi's Attainment of Happiness, in which he envisions the kind of government and religion needed to fulfill Islam's ambition of universal acceptance. Parens argues that Alfarabi seeks to temper the hopes of Muslims and other believers that one homogeneous religion might befit the entire world and counsels acceptance of the possibility of a multiplicity of virtuous religions. Much of Alfarabi's approach is built upon Plato's Republic, which Parens also examines in order to provide the necessary background for a proper understanding of Alfarabi's thought.
Book Synopsis Conflicts of Fitness: Islam, America, and Evolutionary Psychology by : A.S. Amin
Download or read book Conflicts of Fitness: Islam, America, and Evolutionary Psychology written by A.S. Amin and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-11-30 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: " In Conflicts of Fitness: Islam, America, and Evolutionary Psychology, A.S. Amin examines various aspects of Islamic tradition through a Darwinian framework. Islam's allowance of polygamy, the underlying reasons for the subordination of women in many Muslim societies, and the seeds of political instability and terrorism in the Muslim world are just a few of the important issues this book addresses. Amin also offers original insight into many aspects of American society and history. Through the filter of biologically based theories, he explores the reasons behind the monumental changes in sexual mores that have occurred in the United States over the past century, the underpinnings of feminism, and the differences between liberals and conservatives. This text also analyzes the lyrics of many famous rappers, in the belief that hip-hop has arguably become the most influential form of cultural expression in America today. An astute and entertaining work that compares and contrasts American culture with that of the Muslim world from a perspective inspired by evolutionary psychology, Conflicts of Fitness presents many thought-provoking tools to those in search of greater understanding of these two dynamic cultures and worlds. Book Synopsis Islam and Democracy by : John L. Esposito
Download or read book Islam and Democracy written by John L. Esposito and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are Islam and democracy on a collision course? Do Islamic movements seek to "hijack democracy?" How have governments in the Muslim world responded to the many challenges of Islam and democracy today? A global religious resurgence and calls for greater political participation have been major forces in the post-Cold War period. Across the Muslim world, governments and Islamic movements grapple with issues of democratization and civil society. Islam and Democracy explores the Islamic sources (beliefs and institutions) relevant to the current debate over greater political participation and democratization. Esposito and Voll use six case studies--Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Sudan--to look at the diversity of Muslim experiences and experiments. At one end of the spectrum, Iran and Sudan represent two cases of militant, revolutionary Islam establishing political systems. In Pakistan and Malaysia, however, the new movements have been recognized and made part of the political process. Egypt and Algeria reveal the coexistence of both extremist and moderate Islamic activism and demonstrate the complex challenges confronting ruling elites. These case studies prove that despite commonalities, differing national contexts and identities give rise to a multiplicity of agendas and strategies. This broad spectrum of case studies, reflecting the multifaceted relationship of Islam and Democracy, provides important insight into the powerful forces of religious resurgence and democratization which will inevitably impact global politics in the twenty first century.
Book Synopsis Key Terms of the Qur'an by : Nicolai Sinai
Download or read book Key Terms of the Qur'an written by Nicolai Sinai and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2023-07-11 with total page 840 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An essential single-volume companion to the critical interpretation of Islamic scripture This book provides detailed and multidisciplinary coverage of a wealth of key Qur’anic terms, with incisive entries on crucial expressions ranging from the divine names allāh (“God”) and al-raḥmān (“the Merciful”) to the Qur’anic understanding of belief and self-surrender to God. It examines what the terms mean in Qur’anic usage, discusses how to translate them into English, and delineates the role they play in expressing the Qur’an’s distinctive understanding of God, humans, and the cosmos. It offers a comprehensive but nonreductionist investigation of the relationship of Qur’anic terms to earlier traditions such as Jewish and Christian literature, pre-Islamic Arabic poetry, and Arabian epigraphy. While the dictionary is primarily engaged in ascertaining what the Qur’an would have meant to its original recipients in late antique Arabia, it makes selective and critical use of later Muslim scholarship alongside an extensive body of secondary research in English, German, and French from the nineteenth century to today. The most authoritative historical-critical reference work on key Qur’anic terms Features a host of entries ranging from concise overviews to substantial essays Draws on comparative material such as Jewish and Christian literature, pre-Islamic Arabic poetry, and Arabian epigraphy Discusses how to best translate Qur’anic terms into English Explores the Qur’an’s vision of God, humans, and the cosmos through an analysis of fundamental and recurrent Qur’anic expressions Accessible to readers with little or no Arabic
