On April 17, at a business meeting, it was decided to issue another edition--the fourth--of "Y Cook Book for Wise Cooks" with additional recipes. The following year the Salem Y's contributed a few recipes of each kind for a "State Y Cook Book." On Thursday evening. May 23, one of the best home talent entertainments was given to a crowded auditorium in the Y. M. C. A. The programme con ss _ sisted of vocal and instrumental m 1sic_; f S_'oarf-Fantastics" and two farces, "Six Cups 03f'-Cht'co1ate" ahd ' "'A Slight Misunderstanding." The characters were well taken by amateurs of this city and that they performed admirably was proved by words of commendation for the Y's on all sides. On-November 13, the time for the semi-monthly meeting on Wednesday evening was changed to Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, indefinitely. This plan to accommodate the attendance was abandoned April 1, 1902, on the motion that the regular hour for a meeting be on Wednesday evening as aforetime and according to the printed calendar. 1902 On April 12 a gas plate was presented to the Y's by Mrs. Hannah Bullock Ritchie and which has been a very useful fixture at headquarters in the Finlaw Building. On Monday evening, September 16, Miss Christina I. Tinling, of England, delivered a helpful ad-dress in the; Memorial Baptist Church by invitation of the Y's. At the semi-monthly meetings there was a special study of the lives of the great reformers of the day.
