Book Synopsis Nanotechnologies and Clusters in the Spaces of Higher Dimension: Emerging Research and Opportunities by : Zhizhin, Gennadiy Vladimirovich
Download or read book Nanotechnologies and Clusters in the Spaces of Higher Dimension: Emerging Research and Opportunities written by Zhizhin, Gennadiy Vladimirovich and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2020-10-09 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research on nanomaterials and their applications has become a trending area in various fields of study and practice. Its properties and abilities open a variety of scientific advancements that weren’t possible in past years. One specific area of research that is benefiting from the implementation of nanotechnology is the study of higher-dimensional compounds that include metallic atoms and other polytypes. There is vast potential in the study of how nanomaterials are currently being used for producing clusters in higher dimensions of space. Nanotechnologies and Clusters in the Spaces of Higher Dimension: Emerging Research and Opportunities provides emerging research exploring the theoretical and practical aspects of the production of intermetallic clusters in high dimensional spaces using nanotechnology. Featuring coverage on a broad range of topics such as intermetallic compounds, incident conservation law, and applied mathematics, this book is ideally designed for practitioners, scientists, engineers, researchers, educators, physicists, mathematicians, students, and academicians seeking current research on the use of nanomaterials in interdimensional science.
Download or read book Space Structures written by A. Loeb and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: xiv aggregates: this touches on the very nature of things. The concept of statistical symmetry which Loeb develops is particularly important, it emphasizes the limitations in seemingly random aggregates and for permits general statements of which the crystallographer's sym metries are only special cases. The reductionist and holistic approaches to the world have been at war with each other since the times of the Greek philosophers and before. In nature, parts clearly do fit together into real structures, and the parts are affected by their environment. The problem is one of understanding. The mystery that remains lies largely in the nature of structural hierarchy, for the human mind can examine nature on many different scales sequentially but not simultaneously. Arthur Loeb's monograph is a fundamental one, but one can sense a devel opment from the relations between his zero-and three-dimensional cells to the far more complex world of organisms and concepts. It is structure that makes the difference between a cornfield and a cake, between an aggregate of cells and a human being, between a random group of human beings and a society. We can perceive anything only when we perceive its structure, and we think by structural analogy and comparison. Several books have been published showing the beauty of form in nature. This one has the beauty of a work of art, but it grows out of rigorous mathematics and from the simplest of bases-dimensional ity, extent and valency.

Book excerpt: In The Soul of Place Michael Jones explores how our relationship with place aligns us with the underlying patterns of life. He does so through stories that ask: what is our experience of homecoming and how do we find our way there? What is our pattern of belonging - including our relationship with people and places - that we hold sacred? What are the conditions of regenerativity and craft that enable us to give birth to something new? How can our stewardship of what is alive within and around us awaken the mythic imagination? And how does this open a path for gathering together in a spirit of transformative celebration?

Book Synopsis Space Feminisms by : Marie-Pier Boucher
Download or read book Space Feminisms written by Marie-Pier Boucher and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2024-01-25 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Employing a global approach to feminist theory, this book examines how scientific, popular, scholarly, and artistic imaginations of space have, since the 1950s, reflected and embedded Earthly hopes, anxieties, and futures. Rather than simply a platform for imagining the future, it cultivates radical and alternative modes of inquiry around space through seeing space as a material reality that reflexively encodes humans' self-perceptions of their planet and beyond. Bringing together essayistic reflections, artworks, and interviews with space scientists, engineers, and astronauts past and present in one volume, Space Feminisms inspects the transformation of terrestrially held notions of gender, race, class, and ableism as they migrate to the extraterrestrial, whilst drawing new connections between feminist thought and extraterrestrial power structures. Space Feminisms makes a radical enquiry into how earthly power structures are already expanding into our skies, facilitating a collaborative and interdisciplinary platform for scholars, artists, and designers to imagine radical constructions of human futures beyond Earth. At the intersection of scientific, cultural, social, and artistic speculations, the book gathers leading scholars, scientists, artists, and designers to develop innovative tactics and disruptive participations to create generative, alternative, and radical futures of and in space.
