Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every couple fights—it’s how you fight that can determine the success of your relationship. This book teaches you to look beyond what you and your partner fight about, and discover the core issues that undermine your relationship. In the midst of a disagreement, many couples ask themselves, “What are we really fighting about?” Sound familiar? As it turns out, breakups and divorce don’t happen because couples fight, they happen because of how couples fight. In this much-needed book, Judith and Bob Wright—two married counselors and coaches with over thirty years of experience helping couples learn how to fight well—present their tried-and-true methods for exploring the emotions that underlie many relationship fights. In this unique guide, you’ll learn how to use disagreements as an opportunity to deepen your understanding of your partner, bring more intimacy to the relationship, strengthen your bond, and really learn from the conflicts and tensions that occur between you. You’ll also learn how to navigate the fifteen most common fights couples have, including “the blame game,” “dueling over dollars,” “If you really loved me, you’d…,” “told-you-so’s,” and more. If you’re ready to start fighting for your love, rather than against it, this book will show you how.

Heart for the Fight is the story of Brian Stann, a kid from the wrong side of Scranton who made it to the Naval Academy, played linebacker for the Navy football team, became a Marine officer, graduated first in his infantry officer class, led his men in two intense combat tours in the Anbar Province of Iraq, received the Silver Star for gallantry, and emerged as one of the most interesting figures in the mixed martial arts (MMA) professional circuit. A former light-heavyweight champion in the WED (World Extreme Cagefighting), he also fought in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), the “big leagues” of mixed martial arts. Praise for Heart for the Fight “Brian Stann has a remarkable story to tell and Heart for the Fight is a worthwhile read for those interested in the Iraq War or Stann’s MMA career.” —Los Angeles Times “After reading [Stann’s] book, Heart for the Fight, the only word that will come to your mind about Brian Stann is respect. This is an autobiography about a man who has been through and seen so much more than the average American citizen . . . When you finish reading this book, it becomes evident that ‘All-American’ is not just his MMA nickname, it’s exactly what he is.” —Bleacher Report “Reason to Read: Stann is a badass. There’s just no other way to describe him. If he never wins another fight in the Octagon, he’ll still be a badass. Book Synopsis The Battle for Your Heart by : Michael Braun, Th.
Download or read book The Battle for Your Heart written by Michael Braun, Th. and published by Mike Braun. This book was released on 2014-09-28 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Dream About This Book Years ago I dreamed about a book I would write in the future. In the dream I was looking at the book which fell open to the middle because of inserts located there. The inserts reminded me of free samples offered in women's magazines for perfumes and other products. The inserts offered in this book were free samples of dress shirts with bright colors such as: pink, lavender, chartreuse, teal, and coral. They were starched and folded and the reader was able to pick any one of them or all if they so desired. I was amazed that something so valuable would be included with the purchase of a book. ---- I then woke up. I asked others for an interpretation, but never felt that any interpretation was correct. God revealed the dream's interpretation a few months before this book went to print. If you decide to purchase you will be holding the book from that dream in your hands. God's interpretation: the shirts represent the varied, amazingly beautiful personalities of the people who will read this book. This book will offer them, maybe for the first time, the opportunity to choose to be themselves apart from the influence of deceptions which have pressured them to be someone they are not. The shirts were all brightly colored because every personality is uniquely crafted by God as one-of-a-kind and therefore, boldly stands out. The freedom to take or leave the shirts was left up to the reader with no pressure whatsoever. This represents God's gracious offer of freedom without any obligation. The shirts could even be taken out later as they were nicely folded and did not interfere with the reading of the book. This represents God's timing for some who will not be able to embrace their freedom while reading. However, they can come back later to choose their freedom. God has a destiny for your life and He is faithful to lead you into it. I pray this book will give you the courage to pick your own color and stand out as the one-of-a-kind individual that He has called you to be.

This book was released on 2014-11-20 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most complete and up-to-date resource on the powerful benefits of micronutrients for heart disease prevention and treatment • Provides an easy-to-follow program of nutritional supplements to halt the progression of heart disease and prevent its onset despite family history • Shows how merely changing your diet and activity level cannot fully counteract the chronic inflammation and free radical damage at the source of heart disease • Debunks flawed conclusions of the medical community that show vitamins and antioxidants to be ineffective for treatment of heart disease and high blood pressure In this practical scientific guide, leading researcher in cancer, heart disease, and diabetes prevention Kedar N. Prasad, Ph.D., reveals the latest revolutionary discoveries on the use of antioxidants and micronutrients to treat heart disease. He details how the proper combinations of vitamin and antioxidant supplements can greatly increase the effectiveness of standard medical treatments for heart disease as well as help balance cholesterol levels and blood pressure, minimize plaque and clot formation, reduce angina and atherosclerosis, and prevent onset of heart disease despite family history. Prasad shows how chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, homocysteine levels, and free radical damage are the chief culprits in the progression of heart disease and that merely changing your diet and activity level and regulating cholesterol and blood pressure cannot fully counteract an unhealthy internal state. He provides an easy-to-follow daily supplement regime for multiple age groups to target free radical damage and cell injury and stop the progression of heart disease and its related complications. Sharing the scientific data on familial heart disease and antioxidant use, he debunks the flawed conclusions of the medical community that vitamins and antioxidants are ineffective for heart disease, revealing how their studies focused on specific micronutrients rather than synergistic combinations. Offering the missing complement to the standard care of medications, diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes promoted by mainstream medicine, this guide provides a powerful approach to heart disease prevention, treatment, and care.
Book Synopsis The Fight to Save Juárez by : Ricardo C. Ainslie
Download or read book The Fight to Save Juárez written by Ricardo C. Ainslie and published by University of Texas Press. This book was released on 2013-04-01 with total page 449 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A deeply reported, razor smart, up-close account of the Great Drug War . . . Absolutely courageous in its fairness and search for answers.” —William Booth, Washington Post Bureau Chief for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean The city of Juárez is ground zero for the drug war that is raging across Mexico and has claimed close to 60,000 lives since 2007. Almost a quarter of the federal forces that former President Felipe Calderón deployed in the war were sent to Juárez, and nearly twenty percent of the country’s drug-related executions have taken place in the city, a city that can be as unforgiving as the hardest places on earth. It is here that the Mexican government came to turn the tide. Whatever happens in Juárez will have lasting repercussions for both Mexico and the United States. Ricardo Ainslie went to Juárez to try to understand what was taking place behind the headlines of cartel executions and other acts of horrific brutality. In The Fight to Save Juárez, he takes us into the heart of Mexico’s bloodiest city through the lives of four people who experienced the drug war from very different perspectives—Mayor José Reyes Ferriz, a mid-level cartel player’s mistress, a human rights activist, and a photojournalist. Ainslie also interviewed top Mexican government strategists, including members of Calderón’s security cabinet, as well as individuals within US law enforcement. The dual perspective of life on the ground in the drug war and the “big picture” views of officials who are responsible for the war’s strategy, creates a powerful, intimate portrait of an embattled city, its people, and the efforts to rescue Juárez from the abyss.

Book Synopsis How to Fix a Broken Heart by : Guy Winch
Download or read book How to Fix a Broken Heart written by Guy Winch and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2018-02-13 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine if we treated broken hearts with the same respect and concern we have for broken arms? Psychologist Guy Winch urges us to rethink the way we deal with emotional pain, offering warm, wise, and witty advice for the broken-hearted. Real heartbreak is unmistakable. We think of nothing else. We feel nothing else. We care about nothing else. Yet while we wouldn’t expect someone to return to daily activities immediately after suffering a broken limb, heartbroken people are expected to function normally in their lives, despite the emotional pain they feel. Now psychologist Guy Winch imagines how different things would be if we paid more attention to this unique emotion—if only we can understand how heartbreak works, we can begin to fix it. Through compelling research and new scientific studies, Winch reveals how and why heartbreak impacts our brain and our behavior in dramatic and unexpected ways, regardless of our age. Emotional pain lowers our ability to reason, to think creatively, to problem solve, and to function at our best. In How to Fix a Broken Heart he focuses on two types of emotional pain—romantic heartbreak and the heartbreak that results from the loss of a cherished pet. These experiences are both accompanied by severe grief responses, yet they are not deemed as important as, for example, a formal divorce or the loss of a close relative. As a result, we are often deprived of the recognition, support, and compassion afforded to those whose heartbreak is considered more significant. Our heart might be broken, but we do not have to break with it. Winch reveals that recovering from heartbreak always starts with a decision, a determination to move on when our mind is fighting to keep us stuck. We can take control of our lives and our minds and put ourselves on the path to healing. Winch offers a toolkit on how to handle and cope with a broken heart and how to, eventually, move on.

Book Synopsis The Right Fight by : John Kennedy Vaughan
Download or read book The Right Fight written by John Kennedy Vaughan and published by BrownBooks.ORM. This book was released on 2018-09-18 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the author of Shields of Strength, “a gift that could radically change every interaction and relationship you have” (Reg Lloyd, Pastor, Praise Church, Beaumont TX). What is the opposite of love? Many would say hate, but studying the Bible reveals that it is actually fear. Fear leads us to make harmful decisions and live unproductive, unhappy, and unfruitful lives. Love is the key to a fruitful life, but love must be more than a feeling. Love must be an action, a choice. Choosing love over fear is the most powerful choice we can make. Kenny Vaughan brings this timeless discussion back to the forefront of our spiritual exploration by teaching us to view life as a fruit-bearing tree. When we feed the roots with love, the tree flourishes, and we enjoy the blessings that grow upon it. If we deprive our roots, however—if we allow fear to cut us off from love—then the whole tree withers and dies. Utilizing both Scripture and anecdotes from modern life, The Right Fight teaches us how to tend our roots, grow our fruit, and, through the grace of God, cast fear out for good. “The Right Fight will hold your attention and challenge your perspective and application of love.”—Reg Lloyd, Pastor, Praise Church, Beaumont TX

Download or read book Fight for Your Family written by Jon Haley and published by . This book was released on 2020-07-19 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have watched families lose the battle for their families for far too long. Satan is winning the battle against the family and to say I am frustrated is grossly understated. I desire parents to become passionate in the fight for their family. That is the purpose of this book. I pray parents will decide their kids are worth the fight. I pray dads will take a stand and quit observing from the sidelines. Unfortunately, most of us are taking our cues from Adam. Adam passively sat next to Eve as the serpent engaged her in the fight for her life. Adam did nothing. Adam failed to fight. Adam failed to protect. Adam failed his family. I pray this book will inspire, challenge, and equip you to step in the ring and fight.
