From childhood to adulthood, a father I sometimes likened to Hitler, bombings, fear, starvation, and emotional despair from ever feeling loved, find out through my story which choice I will make. "A strong story written by a strong woman, yet at the heart of her story is grace and mercy and love. If you have any disappointments in your life, I recommend this book for healing and encouragement." --Honorable J. Gary Pate, Circuit Court Judge, Retired Tenth Judicial Circuit of Alabama Rosemarie Reinhard Musso is currently a practicing family law attorney who earned her Juris Doctor degree at Birmingham School of Law and is a Certified Guardian ad Litem and Mediator. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association, Solo Practitioners and the Association of Jefferson County Family Court Advocates; she has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management of Human Resources from Faulkner University. She is a licensed and ordained minister as well as a Motivational Speaker. She shares her struggles and pain of growing up under the horrific Nazi regime during WWII. She not only experienced starvation, fear of screeching sirens and bombings, but the worse starvation she experienced was the absence of love. As you read her compelling story of survival and constant fear of death during the years of growing up under the terror-driven times in Nazi Germany, it will instill in you the desire to overcome and not to succumb or surrender to hate and fear, but to overcome disappointments, hurts, and pressures of this life with love and forgiveness. She has appeared as guest on the Dr. Marie Blackwell's TV Program (Glen Iris Baptist Church), the Promised Land (Public TV Program), shared her story at Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Wheaton College, Chicago, and appeared on TLN TV Network, Chicago--Aspiring Women.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the first time in one volume this book presents contributions to the textual criticism of the New Testament made over the past twenty years by Bart Ehrman, one of the premier textual scholars in North America. The collection includes fifteen previously published articles and six lectures (delivered at Duke University and Yale University) on a range of topics of central importance to the field. Following a general essay that gives an introduction to the field for beginners are several essays dealing with text-critical method, especially pertaining to the classification of the Greek manuscript witnesses. There then follow two articles on the history of the text, several articles on important specific textual problems, and three articles on the importance and use of patristic evidence for establishing the text and writing the history of its transmission. The volume concludes with six lectures designed to show the importance not only of reconstructing an allegedly “original” text but also of recognizing how that text was changed by scribes of the early Christian centuries. This book will be of vital interest to any scholar or advanced student of the New Testament and early Christianity. It will make an ideal companion volume for Bart Ehrman’s ground-breaking study, The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture: The Effects of Early Christological Controversies on the Text of the New Testament (Oxford, 1993) and the volume he co-edited with Michael Holmes, The Text of the New Testament in Contemporary Research: Essays on the Status Quaestionis (Eerdmans, 1995).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why did you write the book? everyone wanted to know; Why would you put yourself through that all over again? I tell them that it was a promise that I had to fulfill; I was driven by that promise to: 1) inform the general public of a serious social problem of epidemic proportion; 2) help the victims of sexual child abuse better cope with their problems through Christian principles and methods, assuring them that they are not alone in their struggles, 3) bring the perpetrators to a realization of what they are doing; why they are doing it; leading them to seek help and forgiveness, and 4) lead the victim through steps to total healing through forgiveness. I have just completed the book by Sandra G. Lee, Father, forgive my Father. What an awesome book and life story to be told. The author shared all aspects of the history of child abuse through her eyes as a child and as an adult. More people should share as Sandra Lee has and the world would be a better place. Hats off to Sandra for being a strong and dedicated Christian to face adversity with non Christian individuals or those in denial of an eppidemic worth sharing. There should be more people such as her to keep the world in a better place.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although there is a great deal of attention given – quite rightly so – to pedophile priests, my experience with clergy sexual abuse was also a nightmare. It started out by my being raped as a teenager by a priest who I thought I could trust and then being coerced into having an affair with him for fear of losing my children. A skilled manipulator, especially of vulnerable teenagers and young women who had challenges in their lives, we all thought a priest could help us overcome our particular situations. Once he gained my trust and pretended to be a friend, he set about a path to manipulate me toward a path to a living hell that put my spiritual health and soul in danger. I saw him as a man of the cloth, a man of God who would help me and my children without expecting anything in return. Little did I know I was not his fi rst victim, nor would I be his last, lured by his promises to leave the church for me, and by his word that God himself had sent him to save us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE DEATH OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is a subject of never- failing interest to all who study prayerfully the scripture of truth. This is so, not only because the believer's all both for time and eternity depends upon it, but also, because of its transcendent uniqueness. Four words appear to sum up the salient features of this mystery of mysteries: the death of Christ was natural, unnatural, preternatural, and supernatural. The death of Christ was natural. By this we mean that it was a real death. It is because we are so familiar with the fact of it that the above statement appears simple and commonplace, yet, what we here touch upon is to the spiritual mind one of the main elements of wonderment. The one who was "taken, and by wicked hands" crucified and slain was none other than Jehovah's "Fellow". The blood that was shed on the accursed tree was divine - "The church of God which he purchased with his own blood"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reflecting on the practice of disciple making in young adult, college, graduate, and local church contexts, Jonathan Dodson has discerned some common pitfalls. For many, discipleship is reduced to a form of religious performance before God. For others, it devolves into spiritual license and a loose adherence to spiritual facts. Both approaches distort biblical motivations for Christian obedience and are in need of reform. By explaining various motivations for discipleship, Dodson charts a biblically faithful, grace-driven alternative. Additionally, he provides a practical model for creating gospel-centered discipleship groups—small, reproducible, missional, gender-specific groups of believers that fight for faith together. This book blends both theology and practice to inspire and equip Christians to effectively fight sin, keep Jesus central, and make gospel-centered discipleship a way of life. Both new and growing Christians will learn to trust the gospel in community as they fight together for holiness as well as how to start gospel-centered community groups in any local church.
