Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fantasia of the Unconscious by D. H. Lawrence - The Original Classic Edition Finally available, a high quality book of the original classic edition. It was previously published by other bona fide publishers, and is now, after many years, back in print. This is a new and freshly published edition of this culturally important work, which is now, at last, again available to you. Enjoy this classic work today. These selected paragraphs distill the contents and give you a quick look inside: And so, the first little[9] master was dead and done for, and instead of his little living body there was a speck of dust in the middle, which became the earth, and on the right hand was a brightness which became the sun, rampaging with all the energy that had come out of the dead little master, and on the left hand a darkness which felt like an unrisen moon. ...In that little book, 'Psychoanalysis and the Unconscious, ' I tried rather wistfully to convince you, dear reader, that you had a solar plexus and a lumbar ganglion and a few other things. ...And, because the male nucleus which derived from the father still lies sparkling and potent within the solar plexus, therefore that great nerve-center of you, still has immediate knowledge of your father, a subtler but still vital connection. ...But from the great voluntary center in the man pass unknowable communications and unreliable nourishment of the stream of manly blood, rays which we cannot see, and which so far we have refused to know, but none the less essential, quickening dark rays which pass from the great dark abdominal life-center in the father to the corresponding center in the child. ...This being the very first term of our life-knowledge, a knowledge established physically and psychically the moment the two parent nuclei fused, at the moment of the conception, it remains integral as a piece of knowledge in every subsequent nucleus derived from this one original.

In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING!

But I am very grateful to scholars for their sound work. I have found hints, suggestions for what I say here in all kinds of scholarly books, from the Yoga and Plato and St. John the Evangel and the early Greek philosophers like Herakleitos down to Fraser and his "Golden Bough," and even Freud and Frobenius. Even then I only remember hints--and I proceed by intuition. This leaves you quite free to dismiss the whole wordy mass of revolting nonsense, without a qualm. We are delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive Classic Library collection. Lawrence Fantasia of the Unconscious by D. H. Lawrence is a unique work in the history of psychology. Unlike any other views of the time, it was written with the poetry, force, and audacity characteristic of Lawrence himself. This piece stands as a psychological curiosity and a literary gem that provides insight to Lawrence's own mental processes. Fantasia of the Unconscious sheds invaluable light on the work of one of the most acclaimed and infamous modernists in literary history. No message stands alone. It is a relationship between the author and the audience, a snapshot of a living interaction, and it is only from this perspective that any classical piece can be fully understood. With this in mind, both the author and the climate of his time have been taken into account in a summary that precedes the narration of the full text. This summary includes a biography of and background information on the author and an overview of the work. Also included are reviews by chapter, a synopsis and an analysis, and a section exploring the historical context, criticisms, and social implications of the work. With a full critical analysis and insight that makes the central themes accessible to students and interested parties of all backgrounds, this narration of D.H. Lawrence's Fantasia of the Unconscious is a must-hear. We are delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive Classic Library collection. Book excerpt: British literature often refers to pagan and classical themes through richly detailed landscapes that suggest more than a mere backdrop of physical features. The myth-inspired writings of Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Algernon Blackwood, Aleister Crowley, Lord Dunsany and even Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows informed later British films and television dramas such as The Owl Service (1969-70), Blood on Satan's Claw (1971), The Wicker Man (1973), Excalibur (1981) and Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975). The author analyzes the evocative language and esthetics of landscapes in literature, film, television and music, and how "psycho-geography" is used to explore the influence of the past on the present.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fourteen short stories collected in this volume were written between 1913 and 1921, most of them against the background of the 1914-18 War. All but one were published in slightly different versions by magazines and periodicals on both sides of the Atlantic. Ten were selected and revised by Lawrence for his collection England, My England published in 1922 in the United States and 1924 in Britain. Some of the stories included in this volume are "Tickets Please", "The Blind Man", "Monkey Nuts", "Wintry Peacock", "Hadrian", "Samson and Delilah", "The Primrose Path", "The Horse-Dealer's Daughter", and "The Last Straw". The texts aim to recover Lawrence's own intentions, which editors and publishers all too frequently ignored or altered. Where possible, manuscripts and corrected typescripts are used as base-texts. The introduction traces the composition and revision of the stories, setting them in the context of Lawrence's life and work. The textual apparatus gives variant readings, and explanatory notes identify sources, references and quotations. The 1915 version of "England, My England" is given in an appendix.
