This study assessed the impact of physical activity on Glycemic control and the mediating factors in this relationship.MethodWe analyzed baseline data from the Henan rural cohort study on cardiometabolic diseases. Thirty-nine thousand two hundred fifty-nine (n=39259) adults participants were recruited from 5 counties in the Henan province PR, of China from July 2015 to September 2017. In the present analysis, we enrolled 1085 participants with previously diagnosed diabetes from the Henan Rural Cohort. Multivariable regression models were performed to determine the association between glycemic control and physical activity. Physical activity was assessed by using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), and categorized into three (low, moderate and intense), while glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level was measured after an overnight fast. Participants with HbA1c level >7% were categorized as having poor Glycemic control. We controlled for age, gender, BMI, and diabetes medication use in our adjusted regression models and adjusted odds ratios (aOR) then used to determine the associations. Zhengzhou Universityu2019s Life Science Ethics Committee approved this study.ResultsSixty percent of the participants were women, mean age and mean HbA1c were 61.29u00b18.81years & 6.11u00b12.37% respectively.
