Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In present word of industrialization with so many industries and millions of automobiles running on ic engines with their ever-increasing numbers all running on petroleum based products are facing a major threat of extinction of these petroleum reservoirs. Internal Combus on Engine (ICE or IC Engine): An internal combus on engine, somemes referred to as an ICE or IC engine, is a kind of heat engine in which fuel is burnt with the aid of an oxidant, usually air, in a combus on chamber that is an essen al part of the working fluid flow circuit. The expansion of the hot, high-pressure gases produced during combus on acts directly on a part of an internal combus on engine. In most cases, the force is received by a rotor (Wankel engine), gas turbine blades (piston engine), nozzles (jet engine) or pistons (piston engine). This force transforms chemical energy into kine c energy, which drives, moves, or powers whatever the engine is a ached to. It moves the component over a distance to do this. Therefore, there is need of some alternative fuel which can replace petroleum-based fuels in an effective manner and that fuel should also be available in abundance and can b used in existing type of ic engines without much modification work. On exploring our possibilities for an alternative fuel for ic engines we can easily vote for Hydrogen Gas Based Engines. These types of engines are highly efficient in nature and do not require much modification work. One biggest limitation of Hydrogen Gas Based Engine is low volumetric efficiency, but we can overcome this with the use of oxygen enriched air and also with pure moist oxygen. This step will also help in reducing emission related problems associated with such type of engines.

Book Synopsis The 19th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management by : Ershi Qi
Download or read book The 19th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management written by Ershi Qi and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-03 with total page 1430 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management is sponsored by the Chinese Industrial Engineering Institution, CMES, which is the only national-level academic society for Industrial Engineering. The conference is held annually as the major event in this arena. Being the largest and the most authoritative international academic conference held in China, it provides an academic platform for experts and entrepreneurs in the areas of international industrial engineering and management to exchange their research findings. Many experts in various fields from China and around the world gather together at the conference to review, exchange, summarize and promote their achievements in the fields of industrial engineering and engineering management. For example, some experts pay special attention to the current state of the application of related techniques in China as well as their future prospects, such as green product design, quality control and management, supply chain and logistics management to address the need for, amongst other things low-carbon, energy-saving and emission-reduction. They also offer opinions on the outlook for the development of related techniques. The proceedings offers impressive methods and concrete applications for experts from colleges and universities, research institutions and enterprises who are engaged in theoretical research into industrial engineering and engineering management and its applications. As all the papers are of great value from both an academic and a practical point of view, they also provide research data for international scholars who are investigating Chinese style enterprises and engineering management.
Book Synopsis Functionalized Inorganic Fluorides by : Alain Tressaud
Download or read book Functionalized Inorganic Fluorides written by Alain Tressaud and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-04-09 with total page 614 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Functionalized Inorganic Fluorides: Synthesis, Characterization & Properties of Nanostructured Solids covers several classes of nanostructured and functionalized inorganic fluorides, oxide-fluorides, and fluorinated oxides such as silica and alumina. Ranging from powders or glass-ceramics to thin layers and coatings, they have applications as more efficient and less aggressive catalysts, UV absorbers, planar optical waveguides, integrated lasers and optical amplifiers, luminescent materials, anti-reflective coatings and high Tc superconductors. With a focus on new types of solids, such as nanopowders, hybrids, mesoporous fluorides, and intercalation compounds, the book covers new synthesis routes; physical-chemical characterizations - including morphology, structure, spectroscopic and optical behaviour; detailed ab initio investigations and simulations; and -last but not least- potential applications.

Download or read book Modular High-temperature Gas-cooled Reactor Power Plant written by Kurt Kugeler and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-10-05 with total page 903 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Modular High-temperature Gas-cooled Reactor Power Plant" introduces the power plants driven by modular high temperature gas-cooled reactors (HTR), which are characterized by their inherent safety features and high output temperatures. HTRs have the potential to be adopted near demand side to supply both electricity and process heat, directly replacing conventional fossil fuels. The world is confronted with two dilemmas in the energy sector, namely climate change and energy supply security. HTRs have the potential to significantly alleviate these concerns. This book will provide readers with a thorough understanding of HTRs, their history, principles, and fields of application. The book is intended for researchers and engineers involved with nuclear engineering and energy technology.

Book Synopsis Multiobjective regional energy planning by : Peter Blair
Download or read book Multiobjective regional energy planning written by Peter Blair and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, the scope of energy planning has been broadened to include a variety of additional considerations such as socioeconomic and environ mental impacts. The fundamental purpose of energy planning is to formu late policy. Policy must be formulated in response to the interests which that policy would affect. A planning model called policy programming is developed in this work from basic concepts of hierarchical system theory and input-output analysis. The model is used in planning for energy park development in a specific region. I wish to acknowledge gratefully the suggestions of Thomas L. Saaty and Ronald Miller who commented at length on various drafts of the manu script. Support for this work was provided in part by the U. S. Energy Research and Development Administration, the U. S. Federal Energy Administration, and the University of Pennsylvania Energy Center. Peter Blair December, 1977 Contents Preface v PART ONE: SYSTEMS THEORY AND ENERGY PLANNING 1.
