Book excerpt: This book is divided into four parts: Part 1: The Cracks in the Foundation of Tradition, reviews the absence of correspondence between many doctrines of today's Christian world at large and the source of gospel truth, even the Holy Bible. The standard laid down by the Apostle Paul is "One Lord, one faith, one baptism", yet there are over 2,000 different faiths, ordinances of baptism that don't correspond to biblical example and some who say baptism isn't even required. There are countless claims to priesthood authority, none of which can trace the origin of this authority to Jesus Christ as is required in Acts 1:21-22. Puny man cannot give himself authority to act in the name of God. It stands to reason that God need do this for Himself by personal appearance and/or appearances of His servants. Part Two: Gospel Truth Helps Us to Keep the Commandments, shows how some of the popular doctrines in traditional Christianity are not supportive of the admonition to show love for the Savior by keeping His commandments (John 14:15). For example: the world no longer keeps the Sabbath Day holy. So too, faithful Christians are taught to revere a deity that is not described in biblical text. Part Three: Two Kingdoms: How Do We Tell Them Apart?, discusses the differences between the true kingdom of God on the Earth and the the other kingdom, a concoction of religious creeds which have been initiated by mankind alone, in good faith, yet without claim to or support from the God of heaven. Part Four: Rebuilding the House: discussed the efforts made by the God of the universe to restore His true gospel doctrines and authority to His children. Many discoveries suggest that events of the Book of Mormon would have been unknown to Joseph Smith, Jr. if the book were fiction. The Church established by this man was under the direction of the Lord Jesus Christ whose name is a part of the name of the Church and He claims it as His own. The only Church on Earth so claimed. When the Church was in its infancy, the prophet Joseph Smith gathered the entire priesthood leadership of the Church into a one-room cabin 14 feet square. In this meeting he made the claim that this Church would spread from this humble beginning to spread throughout the whole earth. This would have been the claim of an charlatan were it not supported by the God of heaven Who brought about literal fulfillment. The substance of this book comes from a blog on the subject that received comments such as "Well written and relevant information" and "the best on the internet". Letters from publishers stated similar opinions, but ultimately declined to publish the book because of the author's lack of academic or leadership credentials. The book will succeed or fail based on its own merit. Research for this literary work was an all-consuming effort to use time outside of work and family responsibilities to prove to the author's satisfaction that Joseph Smith, Jr. told the truth. This proof is laid out in detail comprising 429 pages. The proof is based on a conscientious use of sound contextual support using scriptural references from several different biblical writers. The reader will find that there are no claims of a foundation of doctrinal correctness based on one verse alone.

Book excerpt: For more information on Extreme Makeover, . Popular radio host Teresa Tomeo knows from experience that the self-image of American women is being distorted by pop culture. With its emphasis on youth, physical beauty, and sexuality, the secular media is encouraging women--and girls--to see themselves primarily as sex objects. A professional TV and radio journalist, Tomeo pulls together the latest research on social behavior and trends in order to demonstrate that women are harming themselves and their chances for true happiness by adopting the thoroughly modern, sexually liberated lifestyle portrayed in magazines and movies. Packed with not only persuasive statistics but also powerful personal testimonies, Extreme Makeover shows that it is not the slogans of the sexual revolution and the women's liberation movement that free and dignify women, but the beautiful teachings of the Catholic Church. So what are women steeped in the Hollywood and Cosmo girl version of reality to do? Undergo Tomeo's Extreme Makeover. With the help of this book, they can shed the toxic messages that objectify and enslave them and embrace the truth about being a beloved daughter of God.

Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From the author of Relationship Goals . . . Will you be remembered as a person who claimed to follow God but liked to play it safe? Or as a person who lived your life out on the limb and trusted God enough to live in crazy faith? Noah looked crazy when he started building the ark . . . until it started raining. It was crazy for Moses to lead a nation of people into the desert away from Egypt . . . until the Red Sea parted. It was crazy to believe that a fourteen-year-old virgin would give birth to the Son of God . . . until Mary held Jesus in her arms. There are many things that seem normal or average today that at one point in time seemed absolutely crazy. Smartphones, Wi-Fi, and even the electric light bulb were all groundbreaking, history-making inventions that started out as crazy ideas. Our see-it-to-believe-it generation tends to have a hard time exercising true faith—one that steps out, takes action, and sees mountain-moving results. Many of us would rather play it safe and stand on the sidelines, but it’s crazy faith that helps us see God move and reveals His promises. In Crazy Faith, Pastor Michael Todd shows us how to step out in faith and dive into the purposeful life of trusting God for the impossible. Even if you have to start with baby faith or maybe faith, you can become empowered to let go of your lazy faith, trust God through your hazy faith, and learn to live a lifestyle of crazy faith. With powerful stories of modern-day faith warriors who take their cues from biblical heroes, Michael Todd equips you to • believe for the impossible • choose hope over fear • be alert to the voice of God • cope with loss and doubt • develop a deeper level of trust in God • speak faith-filled declarations • inspire crazy faith in others God’s not looking for somebody to give Him all the reasons why His plans can’t happen. He’s looking for somebody to believe they will happen. In fact, He has so much He wants to do through you. The question is, Are you crazy enough to believe it?

It proposes a model of living patterned after what we see in the book of Acts and which the body of North Gate Church has been attempting to walk out the last 4 years. This supernatural lifestyle that the disciples and apostles modeled is NOT a pipe dream but attainable and sustainable with a few clear changes to our ways of thinking and living.

He introduces a three-fold approach to personal problem-solving that he believes every local church should utilize, that is sure to promote holistic growth and development in the lives of the congregant and visitor alike. Dr. Reid unearths and challenges the outmoded and outdated methods that have offended many who have looked to the church for resolve. Being educated theologically and secularly has allowed Dr. Reid to skillfully bring this refreshing combination of spirituality and practicality that will enlighten the reader, reshape their thinking and broaden their knowledge of the local church and it's purpose in the community. In the strength of a reformer armed with the gift of authorship, Dr. Reid protests the hearty approval that many have given to the church with their shouts of amen, and commands a new cadence for reformers to sound. Book excerpt: Absorbing and compelling reading from beginning to end, AA -1025 Memoirs of the Communist Infiltration Into the Church is a must read for every Catholic today and for all who would understand just what has happened to the Catholic Church since the 1960's. In the 1960's, a French nurse, Marie Carre, attended an auto-crash victim who was brought into her hospital in a city she purposely does not name. The man lingered there near death for a few hours and then died. He had no identification on him, but he had a briefcase in which there was a set of quasi-autobiographical notes. She kept these notes and read them, and because of their extraordinary content, decided to publish them. The result is this little book, AA-1025 Memoirs of the Communist Infiltration Into the Church, a strange and fascinating account of a Communist who purposely entered the Catholic priesthood along with many others, with the intent to subvert and destroy the Church from within. His strange yet fascinating and illuminating set of biographical notes, tells of his commission to enter the priesthood, his experiences in the seminary, and the means and methods he used and promoted to help effect from within the auto-dissolution of the Catholic Church. No one will read this book without a profound assent that something just like what is describer here must surely have happened on a wide scale in order to have disrupted the life of the Catholic Church so dramatically.
