Regnault's experiments in 1862, all conducted at atmospheric pressures, and at temperatures relatively close to the saturation limit, did not seem to prove that the Specific heat at constant pressure (9) is independent of either the pressure or the temperature; still the well known value he derived, Opt: has been accepted generally for all temperatures and pressures.
