Book Synopsis Metal Clusters and Their Reactivity by : Zhixun Luo
Download or read book Metal Clusters and Their Reactivity written by Zhixun Luo and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-10-31 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses current techniques and instrumentation for cluster chemistry. It addresses both the experimental and theoretical aspects of gas-phase metal cluster reactivities, especially those pertaining to pollution removal, energetic reactions and corrosion and anticorrosion. These metal cluster systems have attracted enormous interest as they display a completely new class of physical, chemical, electronic, magnetic and catalytic properties. As these properties change with size and composition, it can thus be understood how their nature evolves from atoms to bulk solids. The book offers readers a basic understanding of the structural chemistry and reactivity of metal clusters in both gas-phase and wet chemistry. Further, the lessons they learn here regarding metal cluster chemistry will prepare researchers for the study of condensed phase dynamics that pertain to wet chemical synthesis, soft-landing deposition and cluster assembly.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Layered thin film structures often have unusual properties which make them appealing in a wide range of applications. Fabrication of submicron and nanometer multilayers can produce metastable phases that many not be predicted from the bulk equilibrium phase diagrams. Understanding the growth, structure, stability and properties of multilayers, and controlling their microstructure through processing, are important in many applications. This book focuses on the relationship of structure and processing to the properties that are relevant to all researchers in the field of multilayers. Topics include: phase transformation and reaction kinetics; processing and growth; structural characterization; magnetic, electronic and optical properties; mechanical properties; X-ray optics; thin-film interfaces.

Book Synopsis Laser and Plasma Applications in Materials Science by : El-Hachemi Amara
Download or read book Laser and Plasma Applications in Materials Science written by El-Hachemi Amara and published by American Institute of Physics. This book was released on 2008-10-16 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All papers were peer-reviewed. In the industry, the laser is placed like a tool having shown its effectiveness from the point of view of the tasks execution speed, the accuracy and the quality of the obtained result. Beside, the plasmas obtained by laser, by discharge, or the dusty plasmas are now intensively studied both by theoretical and experimental approaches since their applications are very promising in many fields. The First International Conference on Laser and Plasma Applications in Materials Science (LAPAMS’08) organized by the Centre de Développement des Technologies Avancées (CDTA) of Algiers. Its objective was to present the state of the art, the trends, the fundamental aspects of the interaction between a laser beam and material, and the modelling and simulation of laser and plasma for the applications. The conference gathered 16 eminent invited speakers in different research fields related to laser and plasma technologies and applications. These invited speakers known for their international notoriety were from Canada, USA, France, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, South Africa, and Algeria. Beside about 120 scientists, researchers, engineers and students from ten countries of the African, European and American continents have participated to the conference. More than 100 contributions have been submitted, and the accepted ones were selected by LAPAMS’08 scientific committee.

Book Synopsis Ultraclean Semiconductor Processing Technology and Surface Chemical Cleaning and Passivation by : Michael Liehr
Download or read book Ultraclean Semiconductor Processing Technology and Surface Chemical Cleaning and Passivation written by Michael Liehr and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wafer cleaning, microcontamination and surface passivation are the key focus of this proceedings volume, the 3rd in a successful series from MRS. It is a field in which control of surface chemistry and surface morphology, as well as particle and molecular contamination removal, are of critical importance. This volume expands the scope of the topic to include ultraclean technology in a broader sense, emphasizing the identification and characterization of trace contamination, strategies for removal, and equipment considerations, as well as critical limits for impact on devices. Novel processes, such as chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), and their ramifications for contamination removal are also addressed.

Topics include: deposition and growth modeling; film morphology and topology; film microstructure; failure mechanisms; etching; process modeling and control and reactor-scale modeling.
Book Synopsis Strained Layer Epitaxy: Volume 379 by : Eugene Fitzgerald
Download or read book Strained Layer Epitaxy: Volume 379 written by Eugene Fitzgerald and published by . This book was released on 1995-11-09 with total page 552 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An interdisciplinary discussion of key materials issues and controversies in strained layer epitaxy is presented in this new volume from MRS. Research involving GeSi alloys and Si:C alloys are well represented. In the case of GeSi alloys, utilizing both strained and relaxed structures appears to be a strong component of the current research. Applications, devices and synthesis of improved relaxed and strained materials are featured. Special efforts to integrate the III-V and IV communities were also made during this symposium, and those efforts are reflected in the proceedings volume as well. Results on compositional graded layers in both the GeSi and III-V materials systems are presented. Topics include: general issues; ordering/low dimensional structures; characterization; device applications; growth of Si-based materials; and growth of compound semiconductors.
