Book excerpt: La construction aéronautique et aérospatiale nécessite l'utilisation de matériaux alliant légèreté et hautes caractéristiques mécaniques, aussi bien en sollicitations statiques qu'en sollicitations dynamiques. Dans ce cas, l'étude de comportement en fatigue des matériaux utilisés devient très importante. Les alliages d'aluminium à haute résistance du type 2024 et 7075 répondent bien à ces critères et sont par conséquent employés dans la plupart des cas. De plus, ces alliages sont bien souvent grenaillés dans le but d'améliorer leur tenue à la fatigue. L'objet de cette recherche sera donc d'étudier simultanément les contraintes résiduelles (répartition et évolutions des macrocontraintes et des microdéformations) et la microstructure dans la peau d'éprouvettes en alliages d'aluminium, ceci afin de déterminer leurs influences respectives sur le nombre de cycles à l'amorçage. De cette recherche, on essaiera de dégager l'influence de la répartition des contraintes internes, du type de sollicitations, de la gamme de traitement de surface et par la suite, de faire intervenir un plus grand nombre de paramètres dans l'évaluation de la durée de vie résiduelle de pièces en service.
