Soil type did not influence effectiveness of the immersion treatment. With the pour-on treatment, grubs were eliminated within 4 weeks in Farmington loam, and within 6 weeks in Canadian peat. When the fumigant wasinjected, grubs were eliminated in about 6 weeks in the mineral soil and up to 9 weeks in Canadian peat. Eggs, first-instar grubs, pupae, and adults were exposed to ethylene dibromide applied by the three methods. Eggs, pupae, and adults were more susceptible than third - instar grubs and Were eliminated within 2 weeks.
