We hear reports which seem to indicate we are losing ground. So what do you do? You write a book! And ask GOD to bless the effort while trying to reach out to the people of the world who don't as yet know about GOD'S great plan for all mankind and should be one of our top priorities. We should become more concerned about our own Christian family as we see what is going on in our Western civilization nations. The percentage of Christian church members who attend church on Sunday morning is moderate. Born in 1923 to Henry, Sr. and Anna (Temple) Thiel. Book Synopsis The Heart of a Champion by : Gregg Leard
Download or read book The Heart of a Champion written by Gregg Leard and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2019-08-07 with total page 285 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wow, my second book, and my first book is now in bookstores. This book ‘The Heart Of A Champion’ will start off with the most talked about men and women of the bible, who were all champions in their own right. Most of whom had sorted, less than perfect lives, some started out righteous then backslid, some started out as murderers, thieves, drunks, prostitutes, gamblers, then through God’s grace and forgiveness became some of the most righteous and well known followers of God and Jesus Christ. I will use these people of the bible first, depicting their lives, from good to bad, or bad to good, and how it now affects us in our present day lives. For the people of the bible could be considered our mentors from the past who through their own lives back then mold us to how we should be in our present day.
Book Synopsis Words Of Loving Counsel And Sympathy by : Mary Winslow
Download or read book Words Of Loving Counsel And Sympathy written by Mary Winslow and published by Darolt Books. This book was released on 2020-01-27 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Words Of Loving Counsel And Sympathy is a message of meditation based on the Bible and written by Mrs. Winslow possessed a remarkably fertile, as a deeply sanctified, pen. It was emphatically the "pen of a ready writer," whose teachings seemed ever under the guiding hand of God's Spirit. In this, probably, lay her peculiar gift, and this defined her far-reaching sphere of usefulness. Her yet unpublished remains compose a large amount of material, capable of being molded into varied forms of sacred instruction and beauty. "What shall be their disposal?" was a serious and responsible question. To destroy them appeared a sacrilege; entirely to withhold them from the Christian Church, a robbery. The present volume is, in a limited measure, a reply to this question. It is composed of sacred and precious thoughts, culled from her extensive correspondence, bearing, as the occasion demanded, upon some of the most important and interesting topics of the believer's experience. In this department of Christian service she was eminently fitted, from her own personal and rich experience, her deep-toned spirituality, not less than by the holy and beautiful consistency of her religious life, to be "a succourer of many." "She has been a helper of many and of myself as well." Romans 16:2 The streams which flow through this unpretending little volume will, it is hoped, refresh and invigorate many of the Lord's people, whose souls, like Israel of old, are much discouraged because of the hardness of way. The readings, though brief and this will be a peculiar charm to many who cannot command time or strength for more lengthened teaching will be found to embrace a wide range of topics. The anxious seeker will be led to Jesus; the feeble believer will be strengthened; the wanderer from the Savior will be allured back; the ignorant mind will be instructed; the tried spirit will be comforted; the desponding heart will be cheered; the tempted soul will be succored; the advanced believer will be aided; and even the minister of Christ will be stimulated and encouraged it is humbly and prayerfully trusted, with the Divine blessing from a perusal of these unassuming pages. They are the breathings of one who dwelt much in the region of the cross, who often, to use her own expressive words, "took her walks alone" one who lived in close communion with God, and who came daily up out of the wilderness leaning in simple, calm faith, upon her Beloved. As such, it is hoped they will receive a welcome in many a Christian home, and awaken a psalm of praise in many a believing heart. And to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit shall be ascribed all the glory! Octavius Winslow, February, 1868.
Download or read book The Elected written by Lonny Lee and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2004 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deep beneath the city of Jerusalem lies a stone fortress. In this lair hides an evil about to be unleashed upon the world by the Prince of Darkness. This immortal army has been created for one purpose, to prevent the Messiah from fulfilling his eternal destiny, but God has chosen The Elected to stand beside the Messiah to protect him from Satan's plan. This child, orphaned at birth, is unaware that his father is an Angel. Our story follows Caleb through his life as he grows stronger physically and spiritually, and becomes a mighty warrior of God. Truth and fiction are interwoven to paint a picture of the life of Jesus and possible dangers awaiting him throughout his life on earth. Our young hero stands in the gap between good and evil. Believing he has lost to Satan at the crucifixion, he is overwhelmed at the reality of Christ's resurrection. The Elected is filled with biblical doctrine. It walks with Jesus through His ministry and His last weeks on earth. You see every detail of the trials, beatings, and the crucifixion as if you were there. The book is filled with hope and positive virtues that transcend all time.
