Defiende igualmente la conveniencia de incrementar y dar mayor protagonismo a la formación en materia de turismo rural sostenible en los ciclos superiores que componen la Familia Profesional de Hostelería y Turismo. Por un lado, se recoge todo un estudio sobre el turismo en el medio rural: sus comienzos, factores de desarrollo, conceptualización, modalidades, líneas potenciales de futuro, etc., así como la necesidad de la inclusión del concepto de sostenibilidad, insoslayable para su crecimiento. Por otro lado, y como reflejo de los años de su labor profesional, la autora realiza un exhaustivo análisis de los contenidos de turismo rural existentes en los diseños curriculares de los ciclos formativos superiores de la Familia Profesional de Hostelería y Turismo -tanto de la anterior Ley de Ordenación General del Sistema Educativo como en la actual Ley Orgánica de Educación-, en la que es docente desde hace más de veinte años. Este trabajo de investigación, contando con el criterio de profesionales del sector, docentes en estos ciclos formativos y expertos universitarios, viene a corroborar la idoneidad de aumentar los contenidos en materia de turismo rural sostenible en dichos ciclos superiores en un bloque único de materia, de cara a mejorar la formación de los alumnos y a favorecer su futuro laboral, puesto que es este un sector con gran potencial de crecimiento en el que el factor de calidad en el servicio es indispensable. Los objetivos fundamentales de la investigación son los siguientes: — Determinar, de manera genérica y en clave de sostenibilidad, el papel del turismo en los ENP españoles. — Estudiar con detalle dos instrumentos de planificación del turismo en las áreas protegidas españolas: la Carta Europea del Turismo Sostenible en los espacios protegidos y los Planes de Desarrollo Sostenible andaluces derivados de la Ley 2/1989. — Evaluar el alcance de dichos instrumentos en dos territorios concretos: el Parque Natural de la Zona Volcánica de la Garrotxa (Girona) y el Parque Natural Cabo de Gata-Níjar (Almería). El documento se estructura en once capítulos. El primero es puramente introductorio (objetivos de la investigación, metodología de trabajo y fuentes consultadas, puntos de partida de la tesis, hipótesis de trabajo, resumen de contenidos y agradecimientos). Los capítulos segundo a sexto forman el marco teórico. El segundo presenta los antecedentes de la tesis. El tercero se dedica a la sostenibilidad (definición del concepto de desarrollo sostenible, descripción del contexto medioambiental en las últimas décadas, repaso de los principales documentos y eventos internacionales, descripción de algunos instrumentos, como agendas 21 locales o estrategias de desarrollo sostenible). El cuarto se dedica al turismo sostenible (evolución del fenómeno turístico en España, panorama del turismo en el mundo, definición y principales hitos del turismo sostenible). El capítulo quinto estudia los ENP en España (marco legal, evolución histórica, redes de ENP y figuras de protección), mientras que el sexto relaciona el turismo y la naturaleza en España (tipologías de visitantes, actividades realizadas y papel del turismo en la gestión de los ENP). El capítulo séptimo analiza con detalle la Carta Europea del Turismo Sostenible en los espacios protegidos, e incluye un estudio de caso: el Parque Natural de la Zona Volcánica de la Garrotxa (Girona). El octavo capítulo estudia con detalle los Planes de Desarrollo Sostenible andaluces derivados de la Ley 2/1989, con otro caso práctico: el Parque Natural Cabo de Gata-Níjar (Almería). Ambos capítulos incluyen unas conclusiones específicas para el instrumento estudiado y el caso práctico. El noveno capítulo, a su vez, incluye las conclusiones de la tesis. Se plantean a tres niveles: general (turismo y sostenibilidad en ENP españoles), particular (CETS vs. PDS) y consideraciones finales. El décimo capítulo está dedicado a la bibliografía, mientras que el undécimo recoge diversos documentos de interés, en un anexo.
