Book excerpt: Resumen: En el estudio que se presenta a continuación se realiza una descripción de la Cultura Organizacional predominante en la E.S.E. Hospital Universitario San Jorge de la ciudad de Pereira, a partir de 20 cooperativas adscritas al mismo y colaboradores de la institución, con el propósito de mostrar la caracterización de ésta dentro de los lineamientos metodológicos y de los vínculos que existen, empleando métodos y técnicas como la observación no participante o indirecta, con rejilla de observación y el diario de campo, a través del muestreo aleatorio simple para seleccionar a los informantes claves. Los resultados evidencian los factores socio-culturales formales e informales, de la cultura corporativa que se da al interior del Hospital, las cooperativas que trabajan para este y las personas que directa o indirectamente se relacionan con él; afectando la consecución de los resultados institucionales, lo que representa un riesgo para la calidad en la prestación del servicio y la permanencia en el mismo, en tiempo y espacio, según lo mencionan los funcionarios entrevistados. Realizado el análisis de los hallazgos referidos a cada una de las categorías definidas y abordadas (identidad, convivencia, trascendencia y cambio), se formula la propuesta de mejoramiento desde los aspectos de comunicación y capacitación permanente, que se considera de ser llevadas a cabo, pueden renovar la cultura organizacional del centro de salud, las relaciones interpersonales, ínter-cooperativas y de estos con las directivas del Hospital, optimizando el servicio prestado tanto a clientes internos como externos, impactándolos positivamente...
