Book Synopsis Chiropractic Peace by : William P. McDonald
Download or read book Chiropractic Peace written by William P. McDonald and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2009-09-04 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chiropractic Peace marks the beginning of the end for infighting between mixers (broad-scope) and straights (focused-scope). The three refreshing essays by Drs. Reed Phillips, Ashley Cleveland, and Gerry Clum introduce chiropractic leaders, students, faculty and practitioners to a new, less contentious, dialogue on the political, sociological, philosophical and historical issues of our profession. After years of polemical argumentation, reading Chiropractic Peace is like getting a new pair of glasses or a much-needed spinal adjustment. Uplifting relief! Instead of seeking peace by trying to hammer out compromises, which many do not find successful in the end, the three writers utilize the concept of pluralism to construct a big tent which will accommodate all ethical chiropractors who adhere to basic chiropractic principles. The three contributors bring a much-needed respectful tone to the discourse. And in an important turn for the profession, each writer acknowledges that all of the campsfocused-scope, middle-scope, and broad-scopeare committed to ethical and skillful practice.

Book Synopsis The Religion of Chiropractic by : Holly Folk
Download or read book The Religion of Chiropractic written by Holly Folk and published by UNC Press Books. This book was released on 2017-03-13 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chiropractic is by far the most common form of alternative medicine in the United States today, but its fascinating origins stretch back to the battles between science and religion in the nineteenth century. At the center of the story are chiropractic's colorful founders, D. D. Palmer and his son, B. J. Palmer, of Davenport, Iowa, where in 1897 they established the Palmer College of Chiropractic. Holly Folk shows how the Palmers' system depicted chiropractic as a conduit for both material and spiritualized versions of a "vital principle," reflecting popular contemporary therapies and nineteenth-century metaphysical beliefs, including the idea that the spine was home to occult forces. The creation of chiropractic, and other Progressive-era versions of alternative medicine, happened at a time when the relationship between science and religion took on an urgent, increasingly competitive tinge. Many remarkable people, including the Palmers, undertook highly personal reinterpretations of their physical and spiritual worlds. In this context, Folk reframes alternative medicine and spirituality as a type of populist intellectual culture in which ideologies about the body comprise a highly appealing form of cultural resistance.

This book was released on 2016-02-14 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Getting Healthy Through Chiropractic" will teach readers about the amazing profession of chiropractic. Traditional Chiropractic Care is a safe and gentle way to naturally keep your family healthy throughout the entire year. Although most people believe chiropractic adjustments are only useful in managing neck and back pain, it's important for you to understand that the real practice objective of chiropractic is to maintain the integrity of the spine's alignment which ensures proper nervous system function. Slightly misaligned spinal bones regularly exist in many people in the general public. If let alone, they can cause serious health problems. Don't place yourself and family at serious risk. Systemic disease can come about from years of nerve interference originating from spinal bones being inappropriately positioned in your body.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you tired of spending extra time on the internet, browsing, and searching for the specific research for your specific need every time you need it? What if many of the most significant papers were found in one place? What if they were not only found in one place, but also categorized for quick reference making it easy to find exactly what you are looking for without wasting your time? This collection of writings by Dr. Jeff Williams is essentially a gathering of short research reviews gathered into one resource. The research papers are some of the most significant research and/or guidelines relevant to the chiropractic profession and manual therapists in general. There is a healthy mix of thoughts and musings throughout. However, the majority of the reviews are stripped down into the following flow: Why They Did It How They Did It What They Found Wrap It Up Dr. Williams has found this to be a quick way of sharing more advanced thoughts in a manner allowing for easier consumption by those that do not typically spend time in, or work in, the research world.
