This book was released on 1998 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A through review of the existing impact test data and analysis methods was conducted and the results were used to identify a reliability prediction methodology for further development. The integrated residual strength/reliability method developed by Northrop Grumman under a Navy/Federal Aviation Administration sponsored program was selected and modified. The modification was primarily in reducing the number of empirical constants required in the model. In addition, a cutoff energy level and a threshold energy level were also established analytically for the strength prediction. A structural damage tolerance evaluation was conducted using the modified model and the results compared to those obtained from the existing model.
