Creando nuevos campos de investigación a su vez y ampliando las posibilidades de educación en distintos niveles, como lo es con el uso de una computadora por medio de imágenes, texto, síntesis de voz y modelado de personajes en 3D. El trabajo de esta tesis se enfocará a la investigación y análisis de un software existente orientado a la educación y aprendizaje por medio de una computadora. En años en la Universidad de Colorado en conjunto con otras corporaciones, desarrollan proyectos de investigación en The Center for Spoken Language Research enfocados a la educación en áreas de comunicación humana. Debido a que personas discapacitadas ya sea en el sentido auditivo o del habla, o personas con autismo tienen un gran problema en el aprendizaje de su idioma, los desarrolladores en la Universidad de Colorado crearon el programa The Colorado Literacy Tutor, el cual es una herramienta que ayuda a este tipo de personas con esos u otros problemas a aprender su idioma materna. Mediante el uso de síntesis de voz y nuevos avances tecnológicos, el CLT es un sistema suficientemente robusto, completo y eficaz en el aprendizaje de estas personas. Ya que el sistema fue desarrollado para uso principalmente dentro de los Estados Unidos de América, los desarrolladores empezaron a crear nuevas versiones pero con distintos idiomas como lo es el español, el francés y el alemán, para un nuevo género de estudiantes. Esta tesis está enfocada a la investigación y análisis del CLT en uso y funcionamiento en una escuela en la ciudad de Puebla, crear pruebas y analizar los datos comprobando que el software puede ser utilizado como herramienta para el aprendizaje del idioma inglés como segundo idioma.

Como ya se ha notado, la enseñanza y aprendizaje de inglés como lengua extranjera en el nivel superior en México es un requisito para considerar los estándares necesarios para enfrentar la globalización. Esto es un reto para las universidades públicas, quienes reciben alumnos de nivel medio superior con bajo nivel de inglés. Un mayor desafío es el poner a prueba el sistema tradicional de enseñanza que aún arraiga México en su sistema educativo medio y medio superior con nuevas perspectivas de enseñanza que se centran en el estudiante. Tal es el caso de los Centros de Autoacceso (CAA) de idiomas, donde se confiere la responsabilidad del aprendizaje al alumno por medio de la tecnología, los materiales de aprendizaje, la guía del profesor y el trabajo colaborativo. Por lo cual en este trabajo se integran los campos de la educación, la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera, la tecnología educativa, el aprendizaje en un CAA y el uso de la computadora para el aprendizaje. Esta investigación se enfoca en describir los procesos que se llevan a cabo para impartir un curso de inglés por medio del uso de la computadora en un CAA.

Book excerpt: This book is an adaptation of a research presented to Altiplano National University that sought to determine the degree of relationship between variables: virtual platforms and the learning of the English language in university students, considering the importance of learning the English language with the use of virtual platforms in the current virtualized context due to covid-19. Methodologically, the research is of a quantitative approach, of a non-experimental type, descriptive correlational design and with transversal temporality, whose sample is not probabilistic for convenience, made up of 30 students who were given a questionnaire and an exam, the first about the use of the virtual platforms and the following exam to evaluate the four skills of the English language. The results achieved were: The use of virtual platforms has a significant weak positive connection in the development of listening comprehension in students. Likewise, a positive confirmation of significant media in the development of reading comprehension, written expression and oral expression in students. Finally, it has been determined that the use of virtual platforms has a significant average positive connection in the learning of the English language in university students of Tourism.
