Book excerpt: The secrets are deep. The stakes are high. Now the game heats up. Adam Collins, the star quarterback for the Razorbacks, has a secret. The world knows him as a skirt-chasing ladies' man, but that's all a lie. Adam is gay. He's been hiding his desires for years, afraid that admitting the truth will disrupt the team and end his career. But when Adam is targeted by a vindictive fan, the team owner assigns a hot, alpha bodyguard to protect him—whether Adam wants it or not. Dyson Drake is big, tough, and professional...and he loves men. Having the gruff bodyguard protecting him day in and day out makes it impossible for Adam to control his desire. But with desire comes risks. And Adam soon learns his secret is not safe. He's facing the most difficult choice of his life—secrecy or desires—and the clock is running out. Dyson Drake excels at being a badass, no-nonsense bodyguard. He's been hired to protect Adam, and that's not going to be easy. Not only is some crazy fan sending him threatening letters, but Adam has just broken up with one of the team's cheerleaders, causing all kinds of headaches for everyone. Dyson is attracted to Adam from the start. Who wouldn't be? The guy is handsome, talented, and has the body of a god. He's also surprisingly down to earth...for a rich and famous sports star. When Adam surprises him with a passionate kiss, Dyson is determined to make Adam beg to be dragged into his bed. But when Adam refuses to come out, things turn rough. Dyson can't stand liars and hypocrites, and Adam's secret is not only going to destroy their undeniable connection, but it might ruin the quarterback as well. Yet, the truth comes with its own risks, and this time, love is on the goal line.

Book Synopsis Directional Solidification of Steel Castings by : R. Wlodawer
Download or read book Directional Solidification of Steel Castings written by R. Wlodawer and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Directional Solidification of Steel Castings summarizes the results of a large number of investigations, mostly scientific in character, on the directional solidification of steel castings. The influence of design on the technical possibilities of producing casting in the foundry is examined. Diagrams, simple basic rules, and formulae are provided, along with many practical examples. This book is comprised of 16 chapters and begins with an introduction to the technical and psychological aspects of steel casting before turning to a discussion of the influence of shape and dimensions on the time it takes for castings to solidify. The thermal gradient, feeder heads, and cavities in steel castings are then considered. In particular, the effect of the thermal gradient on solidification and feeding range are examined. Methods for increasing the thermal gradient in the casting are described, including the use of mold heating pads, breaker cores or Washburn cores; external cooling (iron chills); cooling fins; internal chills; and exothermic pads. Cavities in steel castings which are commonly mistaken for true shrinkage cavities are also analyzed. This monograph is particularly suitable for foundry managers, foremen, technicians, casting designers, and students.

Book Synopsis Process Heat Transfer by : Sarit K. Das
Download or read book Process Heat Transfer written by Sarit K. Das and published by Alpha Science Int'l Ltd.. This book was released on 2005 with total page 750 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present text is aimed at giving the students a substantial feel of the fundamentals of heat transfer applied to process industry. Though the introduction of the material is made at the undergraduate level for a first course in Process Heat Transfer', it includes enough advanced material for postgraduate courses on Process Heat Transfer' or Heat Exchangers'. The text starts with summary of single phase heat transfer. Subsequently classification, selection and basic theory of heat transfer equipment are explained. Based on this, traditional heat exchangers as well as stirred tanks are treated in detail. Special emphasis has been laid on plate type heat exchangers. The second part introduces two-phase heat transfer followed by apparatus dealing with phase change such as condensers, evaporators, reboilers and cooling towers. Finally, recent advances in process optimization through pinch technology and energy analysis along with transient response of heat exchangers are introduced. The textbook stresses on design approach.
