Book Synopsis Solid And Hazardous Waste Management by : Dr. Jaidev Kumar
Download or read book Solid And Hazardous Waste Management written by Dr. Jaidev Kumar and published by AG PUBLISHING HOUSE (AGPH Books). This book was released on 2023-02-27 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Solid waste management's fundamental objective is to lessen or eliminate trash's negative effects on people and the planet in order to promote progress in these areas and a higher standard of living. Keeping expenses low and avoiding excess waste necessitates using the most effective strategy for getting the job done. The term "Solid Waste" is used to describe many types of garbage that are thrown away because they are deemed undesired and worthless. Industries, households, and businesses all contribute to the generation of solid waste, which may be disposed of in a number of different ways depending on the specifics of the location. As a result, landfills are often categorized as either municipal, sanitary, construction and demolition, or industrial. Human civilization was concerned with garbage long before it began to worry about air and water pollution. The amount of municipal solid waste is debatable, and it has evolved through time as a result of scientific progress and societal changes. Waste materials and their mounds are a frequent sight in every part of our land. There is a growing problem with garbage in rural regions, too. Unsanitary circumstances, which have a harmful impact on both the environment and human health, are widespread across our cities due to inadequate municipal services, increased population, and excessive resource use. Population expansion, urbanization, and industrialization are all factors that have been shown to significantly enhance the rate at which people produce solid garbage.

Book Synopsis Promoting Climate Change Awareness through Environmental Education by : Wilson, Lynn
Download or read book Promoting Climate Change Awareness through Environmental Education written by Wilson, Lynn and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2015-09-22 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Addressing global climate change is a monumental battle that can only be fought by the leaders of tomorrow, but future leaders are molded through education and shaped by the leaders of today. While the pivotal role of education in spreading awareness of climate change is one universally espoused, equally universal is the recognition that current education efforts are falling woefully short. Promoting Climate Change Awareness through Environmental Education stems the rising tide of shortcomings in environmental education by plugging a known gap in current research and opening a dialogue for the future. Targeting an audience of young scholars, academics, researchers, and policymakers, this volume provides a much needed dam of empirical evidence regarding the role of youth education in addressing one of the greatest challenges of our age. This timely publication focuses on topics such as building resilience to climate change, green learning spaces, gender issues and concerns for developing countries, and the impact of young adults on the future of environmental sustainability.
