Esta edición, al igual que la anterior, mantiene el carácter de manual esencial, en la que el autor, de forma clara y sencilla, presenta los conceptos fundamentales de la materia Desde el derecho romano arcaico, se estableció la regla general en la cual todo aquel que causa un daño está obligado a repararlo, donde el lesionado tiene la carga de la prueba del daño y el nexo causal entre el daño y el autor de este, para determinar la imputabilidad del hecho y la obligación de repararlo. En los riesgos laborales no es fácil sindicar al empleador como autor del daño, porque este no lo hace directamente ni tiene la intención o la culpa en su ocurrencia.

Esta obra tiene como objetivos explicar y analizar la reforma al Sistema General de Riesgos Laborales a los trabajadores y a los empleadores, con el fin de que el conocimiento del Sistema reduzca la ocurrencia de riesgos del trabajo en Colombia y que surja una cultura de prevención que disminuya la tasa de accidentabilidad y de morbilidad en el empleo.
