Set in Israel during the tumultuous days before and after the Six Day War, this book traces the development of their special relationship and shares the wisdom gleaned from it. Within its pages, we sense their passion for bringing the ancient wisdom of Kabbalah to the contemporary world. This is the spiritual journey that ultimately resulted in Rav Brandwein passing the responsibility of leadership of The Kabbalah Centre to Rav Berg.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With so much information readily available today, the educators role must go beyond simply transferring knowledge to students. Drawing from the deep wisdom found in the classic teachings and stories of Kabbalah and Chassidut, The Art of Education focuses the educator on creating a lasting impression on students by opening their spirits to their own higher realms of consciousness and by helping them integrate newly found energy, will, and insights into everyday life. The Art of Education surveys the seven skills of the accomplished educator: communication, self-criticism, recognition, flexibility, attention to details, prioritization, and the correct use of reward and punishment. Together, these seven skills form a Kabbalistic structural model that when properly understood functions like a neurological key unlocking the inner educator in each of us.

Book excerpt: The Kabbalist Rabbi Laitman, who was the student and personal assistant to Rabbi Baruch Ashlag from 1979-1991, follows in the footsteps of his rabbi in passing on the wisdom of Kabbalah to the world. This book is based on sources that were passed down by Rabbi Baruch's father, Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag (Baal HaSulam), the author of 'the Sulam', the commentaries on The Book of Zohar, who continued the ways of the Ari and Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai and many great Kabbalists throughout the generations before them. The goal of this book is to assist individuals in confronting the first stages of the spiritual realm. This unique method of study, which encourages sharing this wisdom with others, not only helps overcome the trials and tribulations of everyday life, but initiates a process in which individuals extend themselves beyond the standard limitations of today's world.

Book excerpt: For thousands of years, no book has been more shrouded in mystery than the Zohar, yet no book offers us greater wisdom. The central text of Kabbalah, the Zohar is a commentary on the Bible’s narratives, laws, and genealogies and a map of the spiritual landscape. In The Essential Zohar, the eminent kabbalist Rav P. S. Berg decodes its teachings on evil, redemption, human relationships, wealth and poverty, and other fundamental concerns from a practical, contemporary perspective. The Zohar and Kabbalah have traditionally been known as the world’s most esoteric sources of spiritual knowledge, but Rav Berg has dedicated his life to making this concentrated distillation of infinite wisdom available to people of all faiths so that we may use its principles to live each day in harmony with the divine.

This book was released on 1994 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1587, Moses Cordovero's now classic introduction to Kabbalah, Or Ne'erav, was intended to serve several purposes; it was meant both to provide a justification for the study of Kabbalah and to encourage that study by providing detailed instructions for interested laymen on how to go about that study; indeed, it was intended as a precis of Cordovero's much larger Pardes Rimmonim. In many ways, Cordovero was ideally suited to compose such a work. His teacher of rabbinics was no other than R. Joseph Caro, author of the Shulhan Arukh, which rapidly became the halakhic code par excellence. His master in Kabbalah was Solomon ha-Levi Alkabetz, whose sister he subsequently married. The result of his studies with both was no less than a kabbalistic "code", a systematic kabbalistic theology of the Zohar, the basic text of Jewish mysticism. But this work was too large, and too complex to be easily mastered. Moreover, it assumed too much previous knowledge to serve as an introduction to the subject; hence the need for Or Ne'erav. Or Ne'erav succeeded in fulfilling all these purposes, and has remained a classic introduction to the study of Kabbalah - and is used as such to this day. Dr. Robinson's accurate but readable translation is the first English rendition of this essential work. -- Back cover.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kabbalists state that there is no reality at all, but something called His Essence, the Upper Force, and this is what we perceive as our world. As uncanny as it sounds, this notion hides in its wings the very prospect of freedom, for every person, for every nation, and for the entire world. The structure and the perception of reality are the surface of this book. But the story of humanity, or more accurately, of the human soul, is the undercurrent that drives the reader forward in this book. It is about you, about me, about all of us. This book is about the way we were, the way we are, the way we will be, and most importantly, it is about the best way to get there. In this neatly structured composition, every part speaks of a different aspect of Kabbalah. It starts with our perception of reality, our perception of the Creator, and the evolution of our soul in the spiritual worlds (including explanatory drawings). The book also clears up misconceptions about Kabbalah and explains, in plain words, how to experience the spiritual realm of our lives.

In Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life, Rav Michael Laitman, PhD, a kabbalist and a scientist, combines science and spirituality in a captivating dialogue that reveals lifes meaning. For thousands of years kabbalists have been writing that the world is made of a single entity divided into separate beings. Today the cutting edge science of quantum physics states a very similar idea: that at the most fundamental level of matter, we are all literally one. Science proves that reality is affected by the observer who examines it. And so does Kabbalah. But Kabbalah says more: even the Creator of reality is found within the observer. In other words, God is inside of us, he doesnt exist anywhere else. When we pass away so does he. These earthshaking concepts and more are eloquently introduced so that even readers uneducated in Kabbalah or science will easily understand them. Therefore, if youre just a little curious about why you are here, what life means, and what you can do to enjoy it more, this is your book.

Book excerpt: An unprecedented annotated anthology of the most important Jewish mystical works, A Kabbalah and Jewish Mysticism Reader is designed to facilitate teaching these works to all levels of learners in adult education and college classroom settings. Daniel M. Horwitz's insightful introductions and commentary accompany readings in the Talmud and Zohar and writings by Ba'al Shem Tov, Rav Kook, Abraham Joshua Heschel, and others. Horwitz's introduction describes five major types of Jewish mysticism and includes a brief chronology of their development, with a timeline. He begins with biblical prophecy and proceeds through the early mystical movements up through current beliefs. Chapters on key subjects characterize mystical expression through the ages, such as Creation and deveikut ("cleaving to God"); the role of Torah; the erotic; inclinations toward good and evil; magic; prayer and ritual; and more. Later chapters deal with Hasidism, the great mystical revival, and twentieth-century mystics, including Abraham Isaac Kook, Kalonymous Kalman Shapira, and Abraham Joshua Heschel. A final chapter addresses today's controversies concerning mysticism's place within Judaism and its potential for enriching the Jewish religion.

Book excerpt: Rav Berg shows how the idea of reincarnation was for centuries either suppressed or ignored by religious and secular authorities. This is not just another New Age tract on crossing over to the other side. This is the rediscovery of a principle that explains the reality readers experience every day, and gives them the tools to transform both it and themselves. Berg guides readers to questions that have compelled humankind for centuries: What is the purpose of life? How does one find the soul mate necessary to fulfil that purpose? How can todays events illuminate past lifetimes? What is the true meaning of fate, and how can the individual control fate through free will? Drawing on the worlds oldest body of spiritual wisdom, this book not only educates readers, but also allows them to see the world from the perspective of eternity, inspiring them to radically change their present lives for the better.
