Logo, as discussões apresentadas nesta obra surgiram a partir de uma pesquisa qualitativa, que contou com a revisão da literatura sobre o ensino da Efei e buscou investigar os conhecimentos/saberes inerentes às práticas pedagógicas na educação infantil (EI), sem perder de vista as especificidades da Educação Física (EF) em relação aos conteúdos e práticas, relacionados à educação do corpo em movimento. No percurso de investigação, consideramos a educação do corpo em movimento mediado pela ação da consciência nas práticas pedagógicas da EF, aproximando essa concepção junto às tendências pedagógicas que buscam ampliar os sentidos/significados das práticas pedagógicas no contexto escolar. Para tanto, contamos com os pressupostos da Pedagogia Histórico-Crítica como referencial teórico, observando as contribuições teórico-metodológicas dessa teoria no movimento "contraditório" entre ensino e aprendizagem e na relação escola e sociedade. Assim, no decorrer desta obra, o leitor terá oportunidade de refletir sobre possibilidades de ensino da EF no contexto da EI, principalmente em relação às intencionalidades educativas a partir da concepção da educação do corpo em movimento. Essa perspectiva busca superar práticas espontâneas e assistemáticas no âmbito da Efei, por meio de práticas pedagógicas sistematizadas para apropriação dos saberes escolares nas formas mais elaboradas, visando promover o desenvolvimento, a aprendizagem e a humanização das crianças, ou seja, para que possam aprender criticamente o viver social.
