Dentro de ese marco, la OPS, la Asociacion Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Educacion en Salud Publica, y la Asociacion de Escuelas de Salud PUblica estan promoviendo, en una primera etapa, la profundizacion del debate alrededor de seis capitulos tematicos en el corriente ano en distintas escuelas de Salud Publica de America Latina. El objetivo final de estos encuentros es delinear las bases de un proceso de cooperacion interinstitucional que habra de implementarse en 1988. La reunion de la cual se ocupa este trabajo fue la tercera de la serie propuesta, y se realizo entre el 20 y 24 de julio de 1987 en la Escuela de Salud Publica de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. El eje del encuentro fue la profundizacion del capitulo Economia y financiamiento de la salud. Las reuniones anteriores, realizadas en la Ciudad de Mexico y en Caracas, trataron los temas Analisis de politicas publicas en el contexto de salud y desarrollo e Informacion en salud y epidemiologia, respectivamente.
