Nach einer kurzen allgemeinen Vorstellung der Theodizee-Frage werden zunachst Grundlagen der leibnizschen Philosophie dargestellt, die zum Verstandnis seines Ansatzes benotigt werden. Es folgt als zentraler Abschnitt die Erlauterung von Leibniz' Rechtfertigungen Gottes angesichts des Ubels in der Welt. Abschliessend wird in einer Schlussbetrachtung diese Losungsmoglichkeit interpretiert und kritisch analysiert. Neben den zentralen Passagen aus dem Discours de metaphysique werden dabei erganzend auch einzelne Passagen der ebenfalls von Leibniz verfassten "Theodizee von der Gute Gottes, der Freiheit des Menschen und dem Ursprung des Ubels" einbezogen.
