Book excerpt: Karen had this idea that she would invite some of her friends over, and spend the night at the old forgotten desecrated cemetery in the woods a mile down the country road from her house. The cemetery dates back to the seventeen hundreds with many of the tombstones broken and a sacrificial altar with blood stains on it where many unwilling participants took their last breath. Karen had no idea something evil was left behind at the cemetery that had been lying dormant for centuries. Karen phoned her friends Pam and Cathy to invite them over for a fun night at the cemetery to tell some ghost stories around a fire with lots of drinking. The girls thought it was a cool idea Karen came up with, especially the drinking part. Karen picked out the night, so the forecast would be just right to set the mood for a spooky night at the graveyard. The night finally arrived it was midnight and the girls piled into Karen's car with the music pounding. Karen said "Anyone ready for a beer?" They all said, "Hell yeah!" As the beers were passed around, the girls rolled their windows down and stuck their heads out of the car windows screaming, and gulping down their beers as the cool wind blew against their faces. Pam said, "I think I see the cemetery up ahead."

A small, white farmhouse nestled amidst rolling green hills, a gentle porch swing creaking in the summer breeze, and the distant lowing of cows. It was a world away from the gritty city, he'd thought, a place where he could finally escape the clutches of his demanding, gold-digging wife, Mary, and the relentless pressure to provide. As Henry drove down the winding country road, his knuckles white on the steering wheel, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was... off. The GPS had lost signal miles ago, and the fog seemed to thicken with each passing minute. The trees loomed on either side of the road, their gnarled branches reaching out like skeletal fingers. When the farmhouse finally came into view, Henry's heart sank. It wasn't the idyllic retreat he'd imagined. Paint peeled from the weathered clapboards, and shutters hung askew. The porch sagged ominously, the swing he'd dreamed of reduced to a single rusted chain swaying in the breeze. As he stepped out of the car, the silence hit him like a physical force. No birds sang, no insects buzzed. Even the wind seemed to hold its breath. Henry shivered, suddenly aware of how alone he was. Inside, the house groaned and settled around him. Dust motes danced in the weak sunlight filtering through grimy windows. Henry's footsteps echoed hollowly on the worn floorboards. Each room seemed to whisper of decay and neglect. That first night, as Henry lay in bed, the darkness pressed in on him. The silence that had seemed oppressive during the day now amplified every creak and groan of the old house. He tossed and turned, his mind racing. Had he made a terrible mistake? As the days turned into weeks, Henry found himself trapped in a new kind of hell – one of isolation, despair, and the creeping realization that his problems had followed him. His drinking, a crutch he'd leaned on for years, had grown into a monstrous, insatiable beast. The bottle became his constant companion, dulling the edges of his growing unease. But with each drink, the shadows in the corners of the rooms seemed to deepen, to move with a life of their own. Henry would catch glimpses of movement from the corner of his eye, only to find nothing when he turned to look. One night, stumbling to the bathroom in an alcohol-induced haze, Henry caught sight of his reflection in the cracked mirror. For a moment, he didn't recognize the haggard, wild-eyed man staring back at him. As he leaned in closer, the reflection seemed to shift, to distort. Was it a trick of the light, or did he see Mary's face superimposed over his own, her eyes burning with hatred?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the wake of a catastrophic event—a viral outbreak gone unchecked—humanity's once-vibrant civilization succumbed to chaos. Cities, once bustling with life, now lay in ruins. The world morphed into a desolate landscape haunted by the Walking Dead. Streets were littered with debris, and buildings stood as hollow remnants of a bygone era. Survivors, those fortunate enough to evade the initial wave of infection, lived in constant fear. Sarah, a young woman in her twenties, found herself navigating this harsh reality. She had lost her family early in the outbreak and had since learned to rely on her wits and survival instincts. Her once bright eyes held a haunted glimmer, a testament to the horrors she had witnessed. The once-familiar sounds of life were replaced by the guttural moans of the undead. Shambling figures roamed the streets, their decaying flesh a stark reminder of the world's downfall. Sarah had grown accustomed to moving silently, scavenging for food and supplies while constantly watching her back. As she traversed the desolate cityscape, memories of the past lingered. Images of laughter in crowded streets clashed with the grim reality she faced. Every day was a battle for survival, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of despair. And amidst this desolation, Sarah clung to a faint hope of finding a place untouched by the horrors that now plagued the world. Sarah's group, once a formidable band of survivors, faced the harsh truth of their situation. The initial unity that held them together began to fracture under the weight of dwindling supplies and unrelenting threats. Food was scarce, scavenging runs grew riskier, and encounters with the undead became more frequent. Each passing day tested their resolve. Arguments erupted over rationing, safety protocols, and the viability of their dwindling sanctuary. Among the group was Tom, a seasoned fighter whose pragmatism clashed with Sarah's idealism. He argued for harsher measures, advocating leaving behind the weaker members to increase their chances of survival. Sarah vehemently opposed such notions, clinging to the belief that their humanity shouldn't be sacrificed for mere survival. Tensions escalated when a supply run turned disastrous. Half the group was lost, leaving Sarah and a handful of survivors on the brink of despair. With heavy hearts, they buried their fallen comrades, the weight of loss etched into their weary faces. Amidst the group's dwindling numbers, fear began to breed mistrust. Whispers of dissent lingered among them, sowing seeds of doubt about their chances of survival. Sarah felt the weight of responsibility pressing down upon her shoulders. She knew they needed a new plan, a beacon of hope to rekindle the flickering flame of their survival. Yet, uncertainty clouded her mind as she grappled with the harsh reality of their situation. Despite the grim circumstances, Sarah refused to succumb to despair. Determined to secure a future for the remaining survivors, she rallied their spirits by proposing a daring mission: to seek out a rumored safe haven, a sanctuary untouched by the ravenous dead. Armed with fading hope and a crude map outlining potential safe zones, Sarah became the beacon of their aspirations. She outlined the risks but emphasized the possibility of a fresh start—a place where they could rebuild and thrive. With a sense of renewed purpose, the group set out on their perilous journey. The landscape was unforgiving, littered with dangers at every turn.

Book excerpt: Just over the hill stood a shack where the most beautiful woman you ever laid eyes on lived. Her hair was blonde and wavy with eyes as blue as the sky. Her figure would make any man lose his breath. The only thing wrong with this picture was she's a Witch. Her name is Sarah and an evil Witch at that. Her mother had her out of wedlock. Sarah's mother kept her pregnancy secret from her parents until one day when her father opened her bedroom door to scold her about something. Her father heard a baby's cry and said, "Did I just hear a baby's cry? "No! No! Father," cried Sarah's Mother. Her father pushed her aside from her closet door. Opened the door and shouted to the top of his lungs. "I want this baby out of my house by morning and that's an order," said her father in an angry voice. Sarah's Mother was only sixteen years old when she had Sarah. Having a baby out of wedlock, especially at sixteen was a disgrace to the family. The next morning Sarah's Mother carried her newborn baby Sarah into town looking for a good home for her daughter. Sarah's Mother came across this shack where a sweet old lady lives. She asked the old woman to take her baby and love her as her own. The old lady accepted and asked her. "Why are you giving up your baby? I'm just an old woman." "My father will kill me and my baby if I don't get rid of this problem. That's his exact words," replied Sarah with a river of tears flowing down her cheeks. Sarah's Mother turned away from the old lady weeping uncontrollably. Sarah's Mother's heart was so heavy with guilt and daily ridicule from her father. She just couldn't handle the pain so she decided to end her own life. Her father found her hanging from a rope in her closet. Her father cut her down from the rope but it was too late she was already dead. Her father felt responsible for her death so he went into his bedroom and pulled open the top dresser drawer. Pulled out his revolver, pointed it at his head, and pulled the trigger blowing out his brains. Later that evening, their bodies were discovered by his wife. She screamed in agony and dropped to her knees. The only two people she ever cared about were lying on the floor dead. She knelt beside her husband took the revolver from his hand took one last look at her daughter and husband and said "Please forgive me lord for what I'm about to do." Then she put the barrel of the gun in her mouth. Pulled the trigger and blew out her brains. After the old lady heard the news that Sarah's Mother, grandmother, and grandfather were all dead she felt even more compelled to raise Sarah the best way she knew fit. As Sarah matured into a grown woman, the old lady felt it was time for Sarah to know the real truth about her biological family. The old lady said to Sarah, "Come sit down at the table with me. I've got something very important to tell you." Sarah calmly sat down at the table with a concerned look on her face. "What is it that you need to tell me, asked Sarah. "Well, I know you think I'm your Mother but"....paused the old lady. "But what asked Sarah with a confused look on her face?” I'm not your real Mother. Your Mother died when she was just sixteen years old," explained the old lady. "How did she die, cried Sarah?”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As kids, my friends and I would venture into the woods behind our homes and explore an old family cemetery next to a cabin. We weren’t supposed to be there. But we were curious and adventurous enough to ignore my friends parents warnings to stay out. They told us that the dead would rise from their graves and turn into zombies. We didn’t believe them of course, but they would tell us that some nights when we were in bed, we’d hear a knock at the door, and when we’d answer it, no one would be there. They’d tell us the dead had risen from their graves and were going door to door looking for the living. They did this to scare us and keep us out of the woods. When we became teenagers we felt like we were invincible and ready to give this urban legend a run for its money and prove our parents wrong that there are no such things as zombies. The teenagers that were found in the cemetery dead were just killed by a bear and not by zombies. Finally, the day came and Tim, Jill, Jeff and Susan decided to make a laughing stock out of their parent’s and the rest of the town. They all piled up in Tim’s car and headed to the old cabin in the woods to spend the night and return the next morning to prove them all wrong. Tim and his friends were so excited that they were going to be the ones to be brave enough to spend the night in the old cabin and make it back alive the next morning to make a laughing stock out of everyone. Tim’s car pulled up to the cabin, the crunch of gravel beneath the tires echoing through the silent night. The darkness seemed to swallow them whole, and for a moment, Tim felt a shiver run down his spine. Then he gazed up at the towering trees and said, “Finally, we’re here!” Tim exclaimed, pumping his fist in the air as we piled out of the car. Susan and Jill chattered excitedly as they unloaded the snacks and drinks from the trunk. Tim couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over him as he gazed up at the cabin. It looked exactly as he remembered it – the same weathered wooden exterior, the same crooked porch that seemed to lean in, as if listening to our conversations. They spent the next hour settling in, sharing stories and laughter as they devoured their snacks. The fire crackled and spat, casting flickering shadows on the walls as they huddled around it. But as the night wore on, the silence outside began to feel oppressive, weighing heavy on Tim’s shoulders and then, without warning, a faint knock echoed through the cabin door. Tim froze, his heart skipping a beat as he recalled the tales from their youth. As they stepped off the porch, the darkness enveloped everyone like a shroud, making it hard to see more than a few feet ahead. The beam of Tim’s flashlight danced across the gravestones, casting eerie shadows on the ground. Susan clutched Jill’s arm tighter, her eyes fixed on the cemetery gates. Tim led the way, his heart pounding in his chest like a drum. The air was heavy with the scent of damp earth and decay. Every step felt like a betrayal, as if they were trespassing on sacred ground. The groan seemed to come from all directions, echoing off the trees. Jill’s curiosity got the better of her, and she quickened her pace, her eyes fixed on something in the distance. Tim followed her gaze, but saw nothing except the dark silhouettes of the gravestones. Suddenly, Tim’s flashlight flickered and died, plunging us into total darkness. “Tim, what’s wrong?” Susan whispered, her voice trembling. “I don’t know,” Tim replied, shaking the flashlight. “It just stopped working.” They stood there, frozen, as the silence grew thicker and more oppressive. Tim activated his phone’s flashlight, casting a dim glow over the gravestones. The group huddled closer, their breaths visible in the cold night air. Susan’s grip on Jill tightened as they moved cautiously, each step crunching on fallen leaves. Tim fiddled with his flashlight, frustration evident on his face. A rustling sound emerged from behind a nearby tree. Jill gasped, pointing towards a shadowy figure shambling towards them. Panic surged through the group as Tim urged them to run back to the cabin. Heart pounding, they sprinted through the cemetery, fear driving them forward as the undead closed in behind them. The trees seemed to blur together as they ran, their branches reaching out like skeletal fingers. Tim could hear the heavy footsteps of their pursuers, their groans and snarls growing louder with every passing second. Jill stumbled, her foot catching on a hidden root, and Susan yanked her up just in time. They burst through the cemetery gates, the wooden slats creaking in protest as they spilled out onto the dirt path. The cabin loomed ahead, its windows like empty eyes staring back at them. Tim leaned against the door, his breath ragged, as he listened to the sounds outside. The creaks and groans of the old cabin seemed to take on a new, ominous tone. Tim fiddled with his phone, desperate for a signal, his eyes darting towards me every few seconds. Susan’s eyes darted around the room, searching for anything to use as a weapon, her hands shaking slightly. Jill peered through a crack in the window, her heart pounding at the sight of shadows moving outside. The undead were closing in, their slow, deliberate footsteps echoing through the night. Tim grabbed a chair and wedged it under the doorknob, trying to barricade them in. “We need a plan,” Jill said, her voice steady despite the fear that threatened to overwhelm her. Tim nodded, suggesting they find something flammable to defend themselves. Susan found an old lantern, her hands trembling as she lit it, casting flickering shadows on the walls. They prepared for a fight, their hearts racing with anticipation. The lantern’s flame cast an eerie glow over the room, making themselves all look like ghosts. As the teens huddled in the cabin, the ominous sounds of the undead closing in sent chills down their spines. Tim frantically searched for anything they could use to defend themselves, his heart pounding in his chest. "There has to be something in here we can use!" he muttered, tossing aside old, dusty boxes. The flickering lantern cast eerie shadows on the weathered wooden walls, making the cabin feel more like a tomb than a refuge. Susan spotted an old fireplace poker in the corner and grabbed it, gripping it tightly. "This will have to do," she said, her voice wavering. Jill peered out the window, her face pale. "They're getting closer," she whispered. "I can see them moving through the trees." Tim felt a surge of adrenaline as he joined Jill at the window, his eyes straining to make out the approaching figures. In the dim light, he could see their shambling gait, their rotting flesh hanging in strips from their bones. A shiver ran down his spine. "We need to be ready," he said, his voice low and grave. "They're almost here." The teens took up defensive positions, their makeshift weapons gripped tightly. The cabin creaked and groaned as the undead drew nearer, their guttural moans echoing through the night. Tim's heart pounded in his ears, the sound nearly drowning out the frantic beating of his friends' hearts. Suddenly, a loud thud against the door sent them all jumping. Susan let out a strangled gasp, and Jill's eyes went wide with terror. Tim steeled himself, raising the poker as the door shuddered under the weight of the undead.

I feel I've been nothing, but a disgrace to all archaeologists abroad. When will my luck change?" said a sad Dr. Moreland. Sometimes when we are at our lowest points in life some kind of intervention steps in and our luck changes, and that's what is about to happen to Dr. Moreland the moment he pulls his revolver from his desk, and points the gun to his head. Just as he pulled the trigger, and closed his eyes, nothing happened the door of his study burst open with the news he had been waiting for all these years. A young ambitious student of Dr. Moreland's said "Dr. Moreland! Dr. Moreland!" as he gasped for air. "What is it? Can't you see you interrupted me, I was about to end my worthless life, this better be good," explained Dr. Moreland in frustration. "You're not going to believe this, but a good friend of mine was on an expedition in Egypt and was told by some old man that he could lead us to King Necron's tomb." "What do you need me for? Many well-qualified archaeologists were more successful than I.” “Why don't you go now and let me try again? Maybe this time I'll succeed,” replied Dr. Moreland in a sad tone of voice. "Didn't you tell no matter me how frustrating it can be in this business to keep on trying because when you least expect it your luck can change in an instant?" explained the eager student. "Yes, I said those words, but I only said it so you wouldn't end up like me old and broke with nothing to show for it," as the doctor laid his head down on his desk sobbing. "Dr. Moreland, don't destroy what you instilled in me. Wipe those tears dry, and let's get on the next plane to Egypt, and make history. I'll make a deal with you if I'm wrong I'll end my life as well. Come on! Come on! What do you say?" "Okay! Okay!" then the doctor placed his revolver in his suitcase for protection when he and his colleague arrived in Egypt. The doctor got on the phone and scheduled their flight to Egypt. The student helped Dr. Moreland in rounding up more students to help with the expedition. Later that afternoon, Dr. Moreland and his team of wannabe archaeologists were on a plane heading towards the greatest find ever, and a curse that would be unleashed when the tomb of King Necron was opened.

Book excerpt: Sam Jackson had over a thousand acres of tobacco that brought in so much money it made him the richest farmer in a town called Painville. Sam never had to worry about money for many years, but Sam's money-making machine was about to run dry. Sam's ego and money got the best of him one day. Sam was drinking with some of the local farmers down at the local tavern. Sam pulled out his wallet and started counting thousand dollar bills on the table in front of them. The farmers weren't impressed. If anything they were jealous and had just about all the bragging they cared to hear. The farmers told Sam they had to get back home because it was getting late. Sam said, “Go right ahead, I'll just keep counting my money." The farmers piled into their trucks. Instead of going home like they told Sam they were, they had something else on their minds. One of the farmers said, "I don't know about you guys, but I think it's time we teach this egotistical money-hungry farmer a lesson." Everyone agreed so they headed down to the gas station filled up their gas cans and waited until after midnight before heading back to Sam's farm to set his tobacco field on fire.

The Devil decided to go against God's wishes of only having enough power to deceive our way of being able to choose between good and evil. The Devil said, "Halloween Night is the only night of the year that my powers are the strongest." As the darkness set in and the trick-or-treaters headed out of their homes to get candy, the Devil entered every trick-or-treater's mind using telepathy. The Devil said "Go out and fill up your sacks with all the candy it will hold, but this time you will say these words to whoever opens their door to hand out candy. Trick-r-treat! You’re dead! Then look straight in their eyes and all they will see is the eyes of the devil. They will be frozen like a statue. While they are staring in a trance, pull out the butcher knife from your sack and stab them until they fall to the ground. You have twenty-four hours to kill every neighbor in your neighborhood. When morning rises there will be millions of dead throughout the world. When I release my hold of your minds at sunrise you will be saying where was God when all this took place."

Book excerpt: Just over the hill was this little town called Eadondale with a population of one hundred and twenty-five. Eadondale had one church, one school, one bank, and one restaurant. Eadondale may not be as big as a big city, but if you ever came to visit you would think otherwise. Everyone left their doors to their house unlocked. Everyone smiled and waved to any stranger that came through this small town. The neighbors were always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, but evil would be lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike at any moment. The evil I'm talking about is a man by the name of Johnny Walker. Johnny is what you would call a true hell-raiser. Johnny stood six feet two inches tall and drank a lot of beer. When he had just a little too much to drink he would get into fights at the bar. Johnny would like to drive his loud Harley Davidson motorcycle in the wee hours of the night, waking up all the neighbors in town. The only thing Johnny was good at was using his pickaxe that he always carried on the side of his motorcycle.

Book excerpt: During the 14th Century, a young beautiful blonde woman by the name of Lady Annabelle was married to the most ruthless King of England King Geston I. The king threw elaborate parties in his castle that Lady Annabelle being timid and shy did not approve of but the king told her to shut up and mind her own business. The king always had a woman at his side and did not care about having a monogamous relationship with Lady Annabelle. One day when the king was visiting his good friend, Lord Bennington, Lady Annabelle got on her horse to take a ride to help relieve the stressful lonely days of being the king's wife, but just as she was about to take off on her horse, a dashing young man on a beautiful white horse rode alongside Lady Annabelle’s horse and asked her what her name was, and she said “Lady Annabelle,” in an excited voice. She was so excited to be in the presence of this handsome man that she could barely remember her name. The handsome man said “My name is Lord Wellington. Would you like some company on your ride?” Lady Annabelle smiled and said “Yes my Lord that would be most fitting to have you ride alongside me but we must hurry because if my king catches us together he will kill us both.” Lord Wellington chimed in and said, “Let me worry about that my lady.” The two rode off laughing and having a really good time. Little did they know that the king had one of his men keep a close eye on Lady Annabelle while he was gone visiting his friend. After a good thirty minutes into the ride, Lord Wellington motioned for Lady Annabelle to follow his horse to a secluded area to rest before riding back to the castle. They both tied their horses to a tree nearby the clearing where they would rest for a brief moment. They both sat down on the grass laughing and talking for a bit then their eyes met and they embraced and shared a kiss together not knowing that behind one of the trees by the clearing was the king’s man that was to keep an eye on Lady Annabelle should anything such as this should arise. Moments later the chemistry that these two had could not be ignored so they both tore out of their clothes and made passionate love together. Then the man that was keeping an eye on Lady Annabelle got on his horse and rode as fast as he could to tell King Geston I what he had witnessed.
