I expect to have them all published by the end of September. Search for all my books under Dr. John WorldPeace JD. Dr. John WorldPeace JD NOTES I was born in 1948, in Houston, Texas. In October 1970, I wrote my first poem of the poems that I am publishing. Over the next 48 years, I wrote about 2400 poems. Most of the poems could be looked at as a short biography of my life; one page snap-shots of what I was thinking or experiencing in the moment. I have at times published a selection of the poems. In June 2018, I began to self-publish the selections of poems and all the poems I have ever written to date (about 2400) in chronological order using Amazon's CreateSpace. There will be about 30 books in total. I jumped around and did not publish the various books in chronological order. I expect to finish this project in August 2018. I will continue to write poems and in fact, will probably increase the volume of poems over the coming years. I also intend to pick a theme like Santa Fe, New Mexico and write a book about my impressions there. The number of possible subjects is infinite. I have also published a book of Haiku which are 3 line poems with 5, 7, 5 syllables per line. I would expect to publish a book of these poems annually and also some theme books of Haiku. My genetics and my current state of health make me confident, barring some accident, that I will live past 100. I do not force my poems. I don't write unless I feel inspired. I have no desire to set a world record for number of poems written in a lifetime. The poems are written in a couple of minutes, 2-10, then put away in a binder by year. I have lost less than a dozen poems over the years. Usually within 5-10 minutes after writing the poem I have no real memory of what I wrote. However, if I reread it, I will have a familiarity with what I wrote. The changes I make when publishing are very few. (Maybe 1 word in every 10 poems)

For me to try to force fit a poetic thought into a rhyming format or any format breaks the flow of the poem; more specifically, crashes the poem. I have, and it seems natural, significantly refined a method channeling poems. I am in truth a filter. A poetic thought that comes to me is skewed in the interpretation and recording by my personal filters; physical and spiritual (not religious doctrine and dogma dictates). The same poetic thought channeled by someone else would be skewed by his or her personal filters. Zen Petals I am not a religionist of any stripe. I believe in the teachings of Jesus but not in corporate Christianity. Zen for me is a generic metaphysical word. Petals in my poetry are a metaphor for mostly very short free verse poems. I keep two steno pads together for writing poetry. One for my standard free verse poems and the other for the shortest of poems. Sometimes I will take a line out of one of my poems and enter it in my Zen Petal steno pad. I am most impressed by poets who can in the course of writing or recording a poem have within it a free standing shorter poetic expression. Poems are never finished until the poet dies and can no longer edit them. It is my hope that various publishers will decide to go through my poems and publish a selection of about 100. If that were done, it is unlikely, due to the variety of what I have channeled, that any two selections would be even close to being the same. What I have channeled is a metaphysical enigmatic matrix of poetry.

By serious I mean that I had over the prior two years played around with writing poems. The subjects were very frivolous and I experimented with rhyming and free verse. I wrote about 30 poems and then made the mistake of reading them to my father and brother-in-law and it was like reading to the wind. No comments. This event was a precursor of the reactions of others for my whole life about just about everything I have ever done that was out of the ordinary. I threw the poems away. They were to me just rough sketches. Later I decided that I enjoyed writing poems and I would get serious about it.Over the last 50 years I have written several thousand poems. I have over the years made a half-hearted effort to have my poems published. One or two were published. This was in the mid 1970's. I was too busy to pursue the marketing aspect of being a poet because after the time in the Army I was raising a family, going to college to get an accounting and a law degree and I was opening over the years my own businesses in insurance, accounting, tax, law and web design. But I continued to write.I kept all the poems; I maybe lost a couple of dozen at the most. I tried several times to get the poems typed in the 1990's but it became a significant task. Finally, this year, 2019, I determined to get all the poems typed and organized. In the 1980's I began to write some Haiku. I enjoyed that. Then in 1995 I had an idea to begin to write one-line poems. Not one sentence but one line; 10 to 35 words. I wrote about 500 poems in 1995 and put the project aside until 2019 when I wrote another 500. I call the book "A Thousand Petal Zen Lotus". On October 10, 2019, I will have been writing poems for 50 years. I have published the poems over the last year in individual volumes. This book is one of four volumes that contains all my poems. 2100 +/- free verse, 1000 one-line poems, 200 Haiku. I will continue with these genres for the rest of my life. In October 1970, I wrote my first poem of the poems that I am publishing. Over the next 48 years, I wrote about 2400 poems. Most of the poems could be looked at as a short biography of my life; one page snap-shots of what I was thinking or experiencing in the moment. I have at times published a selection of the poems. In June 2018, I began to self-publish the selections of poems and all the poems I have ever written to date (about 2400) in chronological order using Amazon's CreateSpace. There will be about 30 books in total. I jumped around and did not publish the various books in chronological order. I expect to finish this project in August 2018. I will continue to write poems and in fact, will probably increase the volume of poems over the coming years. I also intend to pick a theme like Santa Fe, New Mexico and write a book about my impressions there. The number of possible subjects is infinite. I have also published a book of Haiku which are 3 line poems with 5, 7, 5 syllables per line. I would expect to publish a book of these poems annually and also some theme books of Haiku. My genetics and my current state of health make me confident, barring some accident, that I will live past 100. I do not force my poems. I don't write unless I feel inspired. I have no desire to set a world record for number of poems written in a lifetime. The poems are written in a couple of minutes, 2-10, then put away in a binder by year. I have lost less than a dozen poems over the years. Usually within 5-10 minutes after writing the poem I have no real memory of what I wrote. However, if I reread it, I will have a familiarity with what I wrote. The changes I make when publishing are very few. (Maybe 1 word in every 10 poems)
