Book excerpt: The truth behind how well-funded hard-left extremists, the mainstream media, and Obama/Clinton holdovers in the government bureaucracy have combined with clandestine forces within the US intelligence apparatus – the “Deep State” -- to block and undermine Trump’s every move. At 2:45 a.m. ET on Nov. 8, 2016, television networks announced to a stunned nation that Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral had gone for Donald Trump, making him the president-elect of the United States, defying all odds in a surreal victory that sent the Deep State into an immediate sense of panic. By dawn on Nov. 9, 2016, the Deep State forces that expected Hillary Clinton to continue the leftist politics of Barack Obama were already planning Donald Trump’s demise. What emerged from the hard left was a political strategy calculated to block Donald Trump from being inaugurated, and if that failed, to make sure Donald Trump would not long serve out his term as 45th President of the United States. Investigative journalist and conspiracy expert Jerome Corsi goes into shocking detail about how this Deep State or Shadow Government secretly wields power in Washington, and why the Deep State is dangerous – capable of assassinating Trump, if efforts to impeach him or to force him to resign fail. Corsi will also define a three-point strategy Trump -- as a political independent, opposed both by Democratic Party enemies and GOP establishment -- must employ to stay in office and have a chance of a successful first term in office.

Book excerpt: The ‘Russiagate’ affair is one of the most far-reaching political events of recent years. But what exactly was the nature and extent of Russian interference in the campaign that led to the presidency of Donald J. Trump? Richard Sakwa sets out the dramatic series of events that combined to create Russiagate and examines whether together they form a persuasive account of Russia’s role in the extraordinary 2016 American election. Offering a meticulous account of the multiple layers in play, his authoritative analysis challenges the claims of Russian interference and collusion. As we enter into a new cold war, this myth-busting, accessible and balanced account is essential reading to understand contemporary East-West relations.

Book excerpt: Kaye Trilby and her ex-husband, world-famous author Samuel Cabral, vowed to fight for their rekindled love in rain or shine. They didn’t realize they’d be caught in a deluge so quickly. A near-fatal skydiving accident shows Kaye how her reckless behavior affects the ones she loves. But while she knows Samuel is afraid to lose her again, she isn’t ready to give up the thrill of the wild backcountry. Something darker is slipping into Samuel’s mind, though. The specters of his past are re-emerging. His polish is deteriorating, just as all of Hollywood is bracing for his blockbuster book-to-movie adaptation. When he appears on Kaye’s doorstep late one night in a rumpled tuxedo, erratic and agitated, it seems that romance with her ex might be her biggest leap yet. A string of failed relationships has pushed Samuel to the brink, the fall-out leaving him in a dark place—a place where Kaye is powerless to help him. She is reluctantly drawn back into Samuel’s glittering and backbiting world of celebrity, all the while clinging to the steadfast peaks of home.

This book was released on 2004 with total page 884 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This publication contains the report of the independent inquiry by Lord Hutton into the events leading up to the death of Dr. David Kelly, the government weapons expert, in July 2003, after he had been publicly named as the source of a report by Andrew Gilligan on BBC Radio Fours Today programme, which had alleged that the government had pressurised the Joint Intelligence Committee to exaggerate the military threat posed by Iraq in its September 2002 dossier. The question of whether intelligence about Iraqs weapons of mass destruction justified going to war falls outside the scope of the inquiry. The report concludes that Dr Kelly took his own life because he felt he had been publicly disgraced after being named as the source for the BBC report, but nobody was at fault in not contemplating the possibility of his suicide. Dr Kelly had broken official civil service procedures in having an unauthorised meeting with Andrew Gilligan, a fact that Dr Kelly later recognised. Due to uncertainties in Mr Gilligans evidence and note-taking, and in his misuse of language, it is not possible to reach a definite conclusion as to what Dr Kelly actually said. However, the report states its satisfaction that Dr Kelly did not say that the Government had insisted in the insertion of the 45 minute claim probably knowing it to be wrong. Therefore, the allegation is judged to have been unfounded. The BBC editorial system is found to have been defective in its failure to properly check the details of the allegations made by Andrew Gilligan before their broadcast, and the BBC Governors and management system was at fault by failing to fully investigate complaints made by Alastair Campbell. The government is cleared of any dishonourable or underhand conduct in the public naming of Dr. Kelly. Downing Street was entitled to suggest changes to the September dossier, and it was appropriate for John Scarlett, head of the Joint Intelligence Committee, to take account of these. There was no covert strategy by the Ministry of Defence to leak his name, although they were at fault for failing to give Dr Kelly sufficient notice that his name had been made public.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Iraq War of March 19, 2003 was an implausible war at the outset. We now understand that it could have been averted and never should have been waged. How and why did it begin? Who was responsible? This book offers a new perspective on the Iraq War and explains the dynamic relationships between the George W. Bush administration, the United States Congress, and the national news media. It is based on the “multiple streams model of political change” by John Kingdon, which says that if a unique combination of political, policy, and problem streams collide, under the right circumstances, they can create a window of opportunity for a shift in policy. It was the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, which set the stage for the emergence of three dynamic streams in the country. Fear, power, and a contentious political climate converged to produce not only a dramatic new foreign policy, but also a war with Iraq, a country which had not provoked or threatened the United States. Fear, power, and a tense political climate also influenced institutional behavior and exposed the failures of 1) The executive branch in the administration of George W. Bush, 2) The United States Congress and, 3) the national news media. All are designed and are differently responsible to protect the interests of the American people. Errors in judgment have happened throughout history with other administrations, with other Congresses, and with the news media. However, with regard to the Iraq War, it was a matter of degree and extent, especially for the President of the United States. Both the Congress and the news media were also experiencing colossal institutional changes, which influenced and hindered their performances. However, all were culpable in helping to create the Iraq war, which today stands as one of the longest military conflicts in United States history.
