Book excerpt: INTRODUCTION : L'objectif de ce travail était de recenser les données validées publiées sur les effets secondaires de la contraception hormonale touchant à la vie psychique et/ou sexuelle. Une revue systématique de la littérature scientifique publiée entre janvier 2008 et décembre 2018 a été réalisée, faisait appel aux bases de données MEDLINE, CAIRN, SCIENCE DIRECT, WILEY ONLINE LIBRARY et WEB OF SCIENCE. Toute étude analysant les effets secondaires d'une ou des méthodes de contraception hormonale comprenant les troubles de la libido, la sécheresse vaginale, les leucorrhées, les troubles de l'humeur et l'impact psychologique était retenue. RÉSULTATS : 76 études ont été incluses dans la revue, dont seulement 23 études de niveau de preuve suffisant. Les travaux les plus signifiants ont porté essentiellement sur des méthodes de contraception hormonale combinée. Dans cette revue, les méthodes contraceptives hormonales les plus prescrites en -rance n'ont pas montré d'impact négatif, mis à part l'anneau vaginal. Elles ont montré soit une amélioration de la vie psychique et/ou sexuelle ou soit pas de modification. Mais ces résultats se basent sur trop peu d'études scientifiques incluses avec un niveau de preuve suffisant pour en tirer des conclusions pertinentes. CONCLUSION : Cette revue met en lumière une littérature scientifique riche sur le sujet mais avec des résultats très peu exploitables, comprenant peu d'études avec un niveau de preuve scientifique suffisant. Les données étudiées sont peu caractéristiques des pratiques de prescription françaises : les méthodes contraceptives analysées sont peu utilisées et prescrites dans ce pays. L'impact de la contraception hormonale sur la vie psychique et/ou sexuelle féminine reste encore insuffisamment étudié pour fournir des données validées pour guider la pratique clinique.

Consent, companionship, and mutual respect became the watchwords of marriage. And because they did, genuine divorce and remarriage became possible among Christians for the first time. This graceful book restores humanity to the Reformation family and to family history.
