Book Synopsis The Elementary Adventures of Charlie and Dino by : Rooster Springs Elementary
Download or read book The Elementary Adventures of Charlie and Dino written by Rooster Springs Elementary and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2009-07 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was the result of an art project. The Art Appreciation Program is an enrichment program sponsored by the Rooster Springs Elementary PTA. The 2008/2009 program was entitled "Sketches Around the World" exploring the extraordinary connection between illustrators, authors and stories from around the world. The March art project lesson plan requested that our students and teachers develop a story line regarding two little boys named Charlie Lotts and Dino Studebaker and their adventures throughout their elementary careers. The art docents volunteers would sketch the paragraph scene during our art workshop training and later taught the students how to paint the illustrations using water colors. Our students were very inspired by this story and enjoyed the process of developing the story line, the interpretation of their words and painting of the illustrations. Charlie and Dino took on a life of their own and became a wonderful story of mischievousness adventures.

Book Synopsis Fields and Fencelines by : Mark E. Hillenbrand
Download or read book Fields and Fencelines written by Mark E. Hillenbrand and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2019-03-06 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The family farm was a place to learn values, work ethic, and develop character. For Author Mark Hillenbrand, it was a place where happy childhood memories were created and discipline and routine were important. Deeply rooted in the hard work of planting and harvesting, raising cattle and chickens, and maintaining the property and machinery, is a sense of responsibility and belonging. His father instilled in him— with words but mostly by example—the importance of cultivating a deep respect and sense of stewardship of the land and its creatures. From Mark’s first time driving a tractor at age ten, to tree planting as a young man, to assisting his father during his last harvest, the farm provided life lessons that bound the family together and extend to the next generation. At once nostalgic and realistic, Fields and Fencelines is a collection of stories that appeals to a simpler, holistic approach to life and reveals the insight and wisdom gained from growing up on a family farm.
