Little durchgeführt hat, wurde ein neuartiges Strategie-Instrument entwickelt, welches dem Bereich des Innovations- und Technologiemanagements zuzuordnen ist und den Namen Innovation-Scorecard trägt. Da es sich bei diesem Instrument um eine Neuentwicklung handelt, sind die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen einer solchen Innovation-Scorecard bis jetzt, im Rahmen des Projektteams, nur anskizziert worden. Angedacht ist eine Nutzung des Instrumentes zur Erstellung eines Innovationsaudits, zur Innovationsplanung, Innovationsstrategieentwicklung, Strategieumsetzung und zum begleitenden Innovationscontrolling. Im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit mit dem Thema: Die Innovation-Scorecard als Instrument des Technologie- und Innovationsmanagements Möglichkeiten und Grenzen steht somit eine Evaluierung dieses Innovationsmanagement-Instrumentes. Gang der Untersuchung: Kapitel 2 analysiert die theoretischen Hinergründe des Innovationsmanagements. Hervorgehoben wird vor allem die Bedeutung des Innovationsmanagements, sowie eine Diskussion der Problemfelder des Innovationsmanagements. Abgerundet wird Kapitel 2 mit einem Ausblick in die Trends des Innovationsmanagements. In Kapitel 3 wird das Konzept der Balanced Scorecard vorgestellt. Es gilt hier vor allem, die konstitutiven Elemente, Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Balanced Scorecard herauszuarbeiten, um später dann Parallelen zur Innovation-Scorecard zu ziehen. Kapitel 4 stellt die Entstehung, den Aufbau und die methodische Anwendung der Innovation-Scorecard vor. Schwerpunkt wird ein Vergleich der Innovation-Scorecard mit dem Konzept der Balanced Scorecard anhand der beschreibenden Merkmale der Balanced Scorecard, sowie mit schon bestehenden Ansätzen sein. In Kapitel 5 werden die Möglichkeiten der Innovation-Scorecard erörtert. Aufgeteilt nach den drei potentiellen Anwendergruppen: Unternehmen, Finanzanalysten und Unternehmensberatungen wird gezeigt, wo das Anwendungspotential der Innovation-Scorecard liegt. Kapitel 6 befasst sich mit den Grenzen der Innovation-Scorecard, untergliedert in Aufbau der Innovation-Scorecard und Anwendungsmöglichkeiten betreffende Grenzen.
