Zu Beginn der Arbeit wird der Begriff der Diagnose in Bezug auf die Soziale Arbeit definiert und ein kurzer historischer Einblick gewährt, wie sich die soziale Diagnose in den letzten Jahren entwickelte. Außerdem wird in der Hausarbeit auf die Verschiedenheiten der Diagnoseformen genauer eingegangen. Dabei sprechen wir von der sozialpädagogischen und psychosozialen Diagnose. Abschließend werden erläuterte Aspekte und insbesondere die Schwierigkeiten dargestellt und zu einem Fazit zusammengefasst. In der Sozialen Arbeit steht der Klient immer im Vordergrund. Der Sozialarbeiter bzw. die Sozialarbeiterin steht immer in Interaktion mit dem Klienten. Dabei setzt sich der Sozialarbeiter mit einem spezifischen Fall auseinander und versucht die Lebenswelt des Klienten zu verstehen. Aufgrund der Fallbearbeitung aus verschiedenen Perspektiven spricht Burkhard Müller von einer multiperspektivischen Fallarbeit. Dabei ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass die Beziehung zwischen Klient und Sozialarbeiter eine enorme Rolle spielt. Diese Beziehungsarbeit beinhaltet auch komplexe Rahmenbedingungen und zwar sowohl auf der Klientenseite, als auch auf der professionellen Seite. Das Ziel der multiperspektivischen Fallarbeit ist es, durch den ständigen Wechsel der Perspektiven die Vielschichtigkeit des Handlungsfeldes zu erfassen und damit die Wechselwirkungen zu erkennen. Die multiperspektivische Fallarbeit lässt sich grundsätzlich von drei Perspektiven beleuchten: "Fall von", "Fall mit" und "Fall für". Dabei sprechen wir von der sogenannten Fallanalyse.

Book excerpt: The association between social class and psychiatric disorder has been one of the central topics of socio-epidemiological research since its inception. With remarkable consistency, numerous investigations have demonstrated an inverse correlation between social class and prevalence rates for most forms of psychopathology. The debate on the interpreta tion of these findings - social causation versus social selection processes - continues to this day. Moreover, the question as to what the psychoso cial processes are through which social class and individual psychopa thology are mediated has remained mostly unanswered. The concept of social stress may well provide new insights in this regard. One should note, in particular, the considerable conceptual and methodological progress made in life event research. Recently, the first attempts have been made to link the two concepts of social class and social stress. These developments will be retraced in this book in the light of new investigations. Descriptive epidemiological studies on the relation between social class and psychiatric disorders form the point of depar ture. Explicit reference is made to two classical studies in psychiatric epidemiology: Faris and Dunham's Chicago study and the New Haven study by Hollingshead and Redlich. Following on from there, various approaches in analytical epidemiological research are presented which attempt to determine whether - or, more precisely, to what extent - social causation or social selection processes can be said to be responsible for the higher rates of psychiatric disorders in lower social strata.

It has parallels to the ‘third wave’ of contextual behavioural science in that it develops traditional CBT in new directions, but while contextual behavioural science priorities behavioural techniques based on acceptance and mindfulness, schema therapy is more cognitive and draws on elements of experiential learning, object relations and psychodynamic therapy in addition to traditional CBT. The first edition of this book has sold more than 3,000 copies at a steady rate of around 500 units per year since 2009.
