The Bible only covers about six thousand years. What is true, science or the Bible? What if they're both true? What about LGBTQ people. Can God possibly love them? Yes! God loves everyone. These and many other questions may be on your mind. This daily reflection is a one page a day, Bible study book that answers many unanswered questions. We seem to live in a microwave age, don't we? Rush here, hurry there. Our time tables require so much of our day; and offer so little time for prayer, reflecting and reading God's word. In 1977, at age 32, I felt as if there was no longer a reason for me to live. I contemplated suicide. I even went to a hardware store and searched out suicide possibilities. I was restless and discontent. I was unhappy. I thought if I got out of my marriage, I could be happy. I divorced a wonderful wife of ten plus years, and left her and our two wonderful children, to pursue happiness. I was a troubled soul and most a miserable person. I experimented with marijuana and drank alcohol heavily, trying to deaden the pain and the void, which I felt inside. The harder I tried to find happiness, the worse my life became. Never the less, the pursuit of happiness became as a full-time obsession. During my struggle to find happiness and meaning, I received a copy of a daily reflection, from a television evangelist, that put me on the path of my spiritual journey and eventual recovery. All these years later, I include a daily reflections in my routine. I read in the morning; when possible. What I found in so doing, was that the daily discipline of doing so, has more or less assisted me in staying on the spiritual path. I never found happiness. I look on it now as a fickle friend. However, I found contentment, which to me is more valuable than riches. Also I found God! I not only found God, I discovered who God is - God's name and nature. I discovered that God desires to have a personal relationship with those searching for God. And that God will go to every extreme measure to help us find God. When the idea came to me to write this book, it came to me as such: wouldn't it be nice if you shared with the people: your struggles and your journey of searching for God in an authentic and honest way. Pulling no punches. The thought also occurred to me to share the hundreds of mysteries to and in the Bible, which I discovered in over 40 years of intense study. These are things I never learned in church or from other preachers or teachers - other than the Holy Spirit God. So I decided to do that and incorporate those mysteries of he Bible and God, in a brief format. Most of us are so busy with our daily lives that we don't have much time for real Bible study. So this book is a one page a day book. The page correlates with the month and day of the year. There are 366 pages, including one for leap year. It takes only a minute or two to read the daily page. There are hundreds of Bible scriptures in this book. Each page generally has one scripture for the page title. However, spread throughout the book are correlative scriptures, which will help drive home the point of the page title. If you don't have time to look up those Bible verses, no problem. You can just read the one written scripture. Do whatever works best for you.
