With this conviction the writer published in 1891 his first volume Old Testament Theology or, The History of Hebrew Religion in the Eighth Century B. C. For the kind reception of it by many readers in all churches the author owes and gives heartfelt thanks. Would that the work so kindly received had only been far more worthy.
